Poll Question:
The Way of the Hydra
Thanks to Vlaad. 
I've heard a lot of talk about how the all mighty hydra has been chained and dumbed down to 5th level unit (i think). Which doesn't work for me, and doesn't follow my rules of the bigger the better 
The WOG is Hell Hydra.

Well, I told you the idea is not even mine; although the original guy never included WoG creatures, which always annoyed me. Anyway, it was long before Heroes 5, so... I'll do the Ghost and the Peasent - the rest are yours! (if you want them, that is )

Well, Hydra was lower level before, so I don't really care (never did, actually). Besides, this is a beauty contest.
The H1 and H2 are absolutely awful (maybe they were supposed to be awful?! ). The H4 was strange (two legs?) but beautiful. In addition, it was the most powerful ever, but - like i said - that's off topic.
The new Hydra is OK, although the skulls are weird (OK, not TOO weird ). The thing I don't like are her proportions - the heads are too long, while her body is too small, like a dino baby! LOL
So, I'd say Heroes 3!

the best creature in all of these "way of the. . ." is the H5 creatures. they look better detailed because of the fact that they are in 3d and we can zoom in close which forces the makers to design them to look great up close.
the H5 hydra looks a lot bigger, better and stronger than the rest so that has my vote as does all other H5 creatures

The HoMM1 hydra was odd, but along with the HoMM2 one it was exactly what the mythological hydra is supposed to be - a huge snake with split ends
And so my vote goes to HoMM2.

The H5 hydras looks a lot like the Age of mythology ones... and like them, but I must say my favourites are the H4 ones

I like all the hydras except for the first one. they all have different characteristics that defined them.
the new one looks odd though, with its long neck, but it looks very similar to the Herculese movie by Disney

Homm5 hydra should lose that necklace, and i think the legs are abit chunky, but then again it probably needs all the support it can get considering how out of proportion the heads are

It was a close call between H1 and H2. H2 is more realistic, but H1, when you see it in action has got more personality, always had an evil grin and made sounds. H2 is too plain in action. So I voted H1.
H5 I like the size. I don't like the elephant base and I don't like the 3 side only attack.

I vote H2.
I prefer snake-like hydras and the H2 one is a nice piece of art. However I prefer the attitude of the H1 hydra too, especially the fact that all heads are looking in different directions.
The H3 one is a little too complicated to me.
The H4 one is nice but the body is a little strange.
Finally, the body of the H5 hydra is far too big, it looks like some kind of diplodocus. Also, it looks like another "slave" creature with all those things on it. The only good point I see is that it has 6 heads, like the H1 hydra.

I voted for Heroes 1. Brings back good memories, and I always associated them with being strong in that game.
The H5 is nice too, although I'm not a big fan of the legs and in the screen it looks as though its an elephant with hydra heads literally stuck on, because of a different skin colour in the neck. The headgear looks like it's from LOTR3 or Guild Wars or Warhammer or something. I dunno, just reminds me.

Mostly because of the color. Blue, yellow and purple donīt fit for a hydra in my eyes...green is the best color...

Mythologically the H1 Hydra is best - snake body, 7-100 heads. Nonetheless I voted H5, as I don't see why in a HoMM game it shouldn't get that elephant base. Makes it look bigger. And it makes more sense for an underground, dungeon evironment than a pure snake body.

Actually a snake body makes more sense because it is more able to maneuver through the rough terrain, the elephant feet wouldn't be able to walk back up through the cave mouth.. but still it does look cool and I guess that's all that matters.

H2. No feet, and most realistic colour. Not to mention that I once had some 90 Hyrdas who killed 600 Veteran Pikemen.

Well, it's starting to be a few years ago, but I seem to remember it being me as Warlock, with 26BDs, 92 Hydras and matching creatures, against Zounds of Veteran pikemen. I think there were some 330 in each stack in the start of the fight, and they killed off all my creatures but the Hydras relatively fast. For the last 20 rounds or so, it was just my Hydras and tons of defensive spells.

ohh yeah!! heroes 2 *snif* that thing about zounds of pikeman remember me that map DOMINION one of the XL... there are zounds of pickemans guarding a prison who contents a hero who have the some very cool relics...
Hehe now that I remember you didn't need to fight with the pickeman you can let free the hero just if you select the prison for behind... that was a kind of bug of something

In 1 they're old and blue. in two...They'e not THAT frightening a hydra should be.In 3 they've cool.In 4,its a combination between all..not a very good one.In 5 they are huge and menacing.i thing the chaos hydra from 3 is more realistic.
