Definetely the H3 Archdevil! 
The latest version looks brutal and powerful, though. A Devil holding a cross - now that's a twist! 
By the way, I think the Antichrist was renamed because people didn't like the idea of having Christ in Erathia. As far as I remember, it's Hell Baron now... or something like that.

H3 is by far X 10,000 the best one. H5 one is just a big dummy fella and the H4 just a red peculiar zombie.

the homm5 one reminds me of Diablo lol... Wont be surprised if Blizzard launches a lawsuit

One thing I don't like about "The Devil" as a HOMM creature is that the Devil is Satan, an individual not one of many, and is the height of all evil of the kingdom of hell. He is the equivalent of God for Inferno, except he is the strongest unit whereas God does not exist in the Haven, instead there is Angels which are the equivalent of mere demons.

hmmm...perhaps i´m wrong, but i thought the devil is "lucifer", who is a fallen archangel.

You forget that earlier in Homm3 and Homm4 Demons were aliens and Devils were kreegan invaders who fought ancients. In Homm5 Devils are also invaders, but this time demons, not aliens.

The problem is that "Devil" or various forms of Devils is such a wide spread concept and has a place in almost every cultural, religious, and mythological or legendary vein of society that everyone has an ideal of "who" or what a devil is but they vary a lot. In saying that "The Devil" is "Lucifer" is a statement that is derived straight from various forms of Christianity and is an ideal that is based on actual real world Christian beleifs right now. However if the devil concept is viewed from, say, mythology or some cultural legend than if i'm not mistaken, the idea of a devil can mean more than one creature and maybe even more than one type or level of devil. I think it all really depends on what time period, culture, and theme/religion/beleif makes up the context in wich a devil is used. Just the way I see it

H3, without a doubt.
The animations of the Archdevil are simply unbeatable, all of them.
The H5 one looks exactly like the H5 Demon and Pitlord and Hellhound: A buffalo that is quite angy because someone burned its skin. Ok, the one called Devil learned how to grab a pennant. Which of course burns.

Fire!
I am an evil guy Gereraly speaking, I liked all the inferno town creatures, especially the fire effects. Most of the upgraded creatures have fire on them. I hope some of them (higher levels) can use this fire as a defence/attack possibility.
May the fire burn the enemy down!

In 3 they all look cool,but the Antichrist is a lot better.In Heroes IV,why all this obsession for the armor?
In V u just can't make out a diffrence between demons and devils.The Antichrist is best.

The H5 armor just doesn't fit a devil, I mean, metal? It's a friggin Devil, body temperature higher than a jet engine (sorry if I over-reacted) and I miss the scythe :'( so for now H3 AD

well i for one think that the new face fits him allright. 'cause the the devils are the emissary of lucifer...and they should look as if a horde unit commanding in a way the lesser creature of the inferno town. in h3 they look as if every each of them was lucifer itself and u can't have more than one. don't take me wrong , i like the whole aspect of the h3 devil/archdevil but as a supreeme ruler not a creature.

The Devils should have Bat-Wings not like H3's. They should have Goat horns too.
H5 Arch Devil has the two features + the Fire effect of its body. Its true King of Evil!
