A Couple Questions

1. When a hero levels, does she gain anything else besides skills other then just syaing she is level 2 instead of 1? A Magic hero has a lot of things based off of their level, but what do Might heros get out of it?

2. If a hero wins a battle, but has no skills to play, does that mean she is unable to level at that time?

3. A hero has combat and archery. She wins a battle, but the only skill she has to play is the archery secondary skill. Can she still play it? If so, what level would she and her archery skill become?

The skill is the key to leveling. A non-magic hero that levels up in, say Tactics, can effect the rest of their army immensely, and if they have a secondary skill, that increases as well based on the more advanced skill levels. Also its important to remember that nothing stops a Might Hero (or any non Magic hero) from learning Magic skills and thus becoming a spellcaster. The hero just won't start with a base version of that skill.

Correct the experience is wasted and you do not level up. Which is why I teach new players during preview games that the key requirements to approaching and defining a location is having a location card (or creature for a creature dwelling) and a skill card available that has the next level they can attain (including possibly a card already under the hero that could be rotated). There are times I might not wait for a skill, maybe if it was an important location and locations were limited on the map. But for the most part its best not to waste a battle without gaining a skill and its best to seed your deck a little to ensure you get something useable soon.

I am assuming the hero has the base version of each of these skills printed on their card, as in a Nature Archer Hero. Since Archery is based on the Combat skill, and the hero has it on its card, you can play it before you get a Combat skill card. The hero would become a Level 2 hero, but still only get the benefits of basic Archery, which is already built into the card. But, once you got a Basic/Advanced Combat card and won another battle the hero can up to a Level 3 hero with Advanced Combat and thus Archery will begin to advance. And had you not played the Archery card, your archery skill would still be at the base level, because you need the secondary skill card to go beyond what is already built into your hero's abilities.

I assume you mean the spells Magic using heroes can use?  That's the only thing I can think of as "a lot" of things.  Is there something else you mean?  Otherwise, TFH has it covered.  Remember, the level of your secondary skills goes up automatically with the primary skill it's associated with.  So if you have all 3 secondary skills associated with any one primary skill, they all go up at the same time.  If you're a Grand Master at _______ and then add a secondary skill, the secondary skill is automatically Grand Master also.

Yup!

Yes she can.  The hero is level 2, her archery skill is the same as the primary skill level (combat).  In your instance I assume level one a.k.a. basic.

What good does it do me to level..............?

Note: When you sac to add to the attack of another friendly unit, or when you protect or defend, you add your level. This can really be a big deal.
