Ummmmm, not sure... maybe the butterfly nectar?
Personally I think the side stroke is the easiest and requires the least amount of effort... my problem with this though is that I would probably end up not paying attention and angle off course.

I think my knowledge of English (or lack of it) kick in. So, breast stroke and side stroke are not the same thing? If that's the case - I've been talking about the side stroke in my previous posts.
And Kru, what's there to prevent you from looking around from time to time as you swim? If you don't do it you'll end up swimming in a small circles.

breast stroke you're facing forward (basically is the style that old women use to stay in shape)
side stroke you're on one side....
one arm out in the direction you're going but you're facing either right or left. (you're only using one arm to paddle)
so laughin' at me eh??
"something was said...
people are laughing...

Oh. I don't see how that would be more economic than the breast stroke. Arms puddle, arms relax. legs move, legs relax. both arms and legs relax while you keep swimming forward... repeat. You can do that all day long if you have some endurance training.

What's wrong with swimming in circles? I might be trying to start a whirlpool. Can't you understand that at such a fast pace, I could actually accomplish this? No?? Me either

Pull, kick, glide.... knife through the water with minimal resistance... repeat. You can do this all day long with next to no endurance training... just make sure you don't fall asleep during the process.

Kinda sounds like you'd need to have some extra muscles working in order to keep you on your side. You don't need to do it when you lie on your belly with only your arms and your legs moving.
Edit: Well, maybe it depends on a person. I personally find breast stroke style extremely easy (and with this style I was the fastest in my class back in Russia). Unfortunately, I could never master freestyle no matter how much I tried. After 2 years of weekly swimming classes my freestyle results were still among the average Maybe I am breathing incorrectly, or maybe my legs move out of sync.

That is very possible... The side stroke is very easy for me and the technique isn't very difficult to learn. Perhaps it is because I am not very good at the breast stroke and with wrong technique, may end up doing more work than I should.

Well, this morning I managed to bench the 2 pillows and covers off of me before I got out of bed. Then I was able to deadlift the garbage and walk it out to the curb. Right now I am curling 16 oz of freshly brewed coffee

Don't forget that you also did some abs as you were getting out of bed.

Well, kind of... actually I rolled to my side and sat up that way, then just dropped out of bed. I suppose that qualifies as a 1-sided side bend
