Mapmaking copycats
What should I do?
Like every mapmaker, I love to get some feedback from players, so I usually upload my maps everywhere. Then I find out that somebody (usually under an online nick, such as MAD or Borsuk) copied my map.
My "The War in Middle-earth" scenario (XL, WoG) has been changed - a few heroes were edited. The map is uploaded as somebody else's work at Heroes Portal. A similar thing happened to my "Truth and Justice" (XL,H4).
These are huge maps which took me MONTHS of hard work!
PERHAPS the new versions ARE better, but PLEASE keep them on your hard discs or e-mail them to your friends - but do not upload them!!!

I condone copycats. Do not be fooled, people, by these fakes! Sorry to hear this kind of disturbing news, Vlaad.

Those who copy the work of others and claim it as their own are scum. My their insides rot and may they never reproduce. I wish I could think of something more damning and insulting to say.

You better not.

Having made Jebus Cross (one of the most played maps/templates for h3) I don't really have the same need. I love that my map is used, no matter what it has become now.
Basically, if they want to use the map, and call it their own, there's not much you can do. You could email the site that hosts it of course, but my honest reccomendation is to let it go, and move on with life. You know that its your map, and thats what matters.
