How many Skeletons have you raised?
I'm kinda new here so you might all be bored to death by another topic about necro/skels but just humour me anyway
As the thread states what is the biggest stack of skeletons you've managed to raise?
My personal record was 67K skeletons...very scary the AI hadn't a hope not that i needed any skels at all to beat the AI but just plain fun to have such a massive stack.
This was on an XL map about month 9 or so and i had found the grail and had 4 necro towns so plenty of pluses to necromancy plus i was using Isra.

61k, I think... Then they went negative!  They simply didn't show up in combat!

I quess it depends on how you like to play. I figure a map's just getting fun at 9 months. I mean fighting a wimpy swarm of AAs is kinda fun.....but 50 legions of BDs is even more fun.

I've been meaning to test for maximum stack size, max damage, etc, but haven't gotten around to it. I know the maximum gold is 2.147.483.647. That's a 31 bit number. The 32nd bit is a polarity bit, so if you add 1 more you go negative.
It sounds like the max number for stack size might be a 16 bit number. Or it's possible it's based on hit points rather than stack size.

Kinda weird with 67k skels you worry about them while you must've had round 3k Ghost Dragons worth mentioning more than those skels

Diplo perhaps....but surely not from town dwells..

There ya go If you can diplo all those hordes of hydras, dragons, etc around a map like extreme 2 XL+U, you'll get even more than that much earlier than month 9
But even without diplo, say, you find a bunch of dragon dwells. You have 6 necro towns to benefit from those. Multiply that by 4 weeks and by 8 months and you can get pretty close to what he said with some luck. And I am not talking about some stupid map where you have 10000000 dragons set to join you. I am talking about a very popular random template.

yeah, sorry I kinda over-reacted 300 is more like it Let me sum it up to check on myself
2 GD's per week is 8 per month, 9 times is 72 (no way you have only one town) so you'd have 4 towns, is 284
now, if you have the Grail, you'd have more.... like 1 extra each week for lets say 8 months are 4 per week is 4 times 8 is 32 which brings us at 316 (of course, you won't have a castle and bone dragons in tthe first week due to requirements and stuff but I recon it's close )

...mmh...u do forget many Ghostdragons dont u?
What about the ones you get by Diplomancy?
What about the ones you get by refugee camps or pandoras boxes?
What about the ones by external dwellings? (u get also one plus in your town if uve an external dwelling). If uve dungeon ull get another one.
What about the ones you get by converting all other dragons (including Hydras) into Bonedragons?
If u play against the comp for 9 months on a random (which is no match in any case) you should get around 500 to 1000 Ghostdragons if u do it right.
Its really harder not to "win" this game in the meantime.

Hmm... you can only afford about 1700 ghosts in 8 months from rampart+grail and 6 necro towns. A bit more after you trade the resources you get in 8 months. The "luck" bit I mentioned should take care of the other 1300 ghosts

More replies than i thought, I guess skeletons are always popular...
Can't remember how many ghost dragons I had but it really didn't matter, I just used my skeleton stack to anihilate
the biggest enemy hero. Just watching each of his stacks die in one hit was amusing. Though I see this thread could be de-railed into an arguement about how many ghost dragons you can get in 9 months (hint, hint).
Hopefully necro will be as much fun in H5

I hope the same fun... but better balanced... to not have to ban the town on online games

Well, face it: dragons or liches (from cloak of the undead king) are more fun

That cloak of the undead king is a real game winner hehehe...
I just don't get to use it often enough but just thinking about having several large stacks of liches makes me drool and also want play an XL map with necro.
Actually can anyone suggest a good single player XL map based on necro?
