Life after Death
As promised a totaly off topic thread.
I'm wondering what your opinions are about life after dead.
Especially since this crowd is quite different in age and cultur. I'm not just posting this to be funny or something like that.
I would very much like to hear your honest opinions.
Perhaps your thinking reincarnation/past lifes, heaven/hell stuff like that.
I'll surely be monitoring your reactions!

There is no life after death IMO.People always been afraid to imagine that its over. Its tough to take.Men like the idea of life after death, less scary than "game over".
Not only for one religion, most (if not all) religions have some ways to describe life after death.Of course,no one can prove it.

Is there a life before death?
Is it important what happens to us after the death? No one can escape his fate, everyone has to die. Ppl should focus on make their lifes better, to have a life before they die.

I also think there's a life after death. do you imagine something like this: you die. everything blank. nothing. zero. null. you just have to have another life to live. but you never know about your previous life(s). you don't remember anything. that's my vision of life after life.

No life after death . . .
When you go into shock, sometimes you just want to sleep and nothing else seems to matter. You just want to sleep. And when you wake up, you can remember not caring or worrying about how injured you were or what was going on. I'm sure death is the same way. You just don't care, and it happens. That's life. (trust me on the shock thing!)
If you wonder why all religions have life after death, it was the best way to convert people (join, and never die!). Lots of religions have a firey hell under the earth, too. Wonder how we got that? Volcanos? Hmmmmm.....
Of course, that John Edwards is pretty convicing. How does he know that stuff?! He told one woman what she had for lunch the day before! Overcooked fish! Freaking Amazing . . .

Let me first make one thing clear. I'm not a religious kind of guy.
Thorman and Viper.
You're makin me wonder..please tell me what your goal in live is since you believe that which you posted?
Do you believe in destiney?
Viper: hmmm seventeen...that could explain something! (no ofense intended - just guessing that life hasn't played to many bad tricks on U...yet?)
CraigHack: ate any good books lately?
Zonekill: hmmm you've got a point there!
arachnid: Thought I asked for a serious reply?
Lord_Woock: please elaborate (not quite clear what you're saying with "have to have another life...).
LordPaul: Shock isn't experienced the same by all people.
Quote: "Thinking it would be a good way to convert people" .... doesn't realy make sense because the non-believers could always convert and remorse their sins just before dying ......
Ash-NIR: very good point there, please elaborate!
All power is within humans!
Please let me know your opinions.
Reveal something of yourself by stating your opinion!
Greetz!

My view:
No life after death for the present you. Ya, there MAY be some form of lives after death, but you are not the original you any more. Otherwise we SHOULD have something to recall about our PREVIOUS life.
(or maybe God just plays some tricks and erase our memories about previous life, just like in the movie "MIB" )
My age: 28
Religion: Nil

Finish the quote, and you'll have all I feel for certain about the topic. Everything else is a matter of personal opinion, and inner comfort levels, which are subject to change.
Yes, I'm being deliberately vague. And, No, I won't go into further detail here. Those who are truly curious can seek out the information. It may be a journey worth taking.

I'm not asking you for facts (since their ain't any).
Just wondering what people's opinion are and most of all who they came to that opinion.
All kinds of circumstances can and will lead to one's view on live itself (wether they are aware of it or not).
By letting people talk about these tings they can become aware of them/it perhaps even in a new perspective.
Got to be open to be able to see clear...
Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

It has been proven that electricity still runs trough the brain, long after a person is dead. This was done with frogs and it was found that electricity still ran through the brain of a frog for about a day, now imagine that for a human, a week to a month. During this period it is possible that a person is in a subconcious state (Dreaming) This is why when a person dies, he/she realizes his deathsubconciously and dreams of a tunnel with a light (Note all storys with the tunnel and light only occured in Christians and Jews) then when the person is ressussitated he tells of this tunnel. I believe that after the period when the electricity runs out you cannot even think, no blackness, nothing. This theory is hard for humans to accept.

Many questions
So you say death is like going to sleep and never wake up? Where are the dreams then? I always have two or three dreams when I go to sleep. Maybe my dreams after death will be something like 'What would happen if I did something else...'? I just don't know. And maybe we are all wrong? And maybe it's a mix of all the theories? Who knows? We won't find out how it is by simple discussions. Any other way won't help. So I sugest leaving this subject.
PS: I agree with Ash-NIR.

Nah its just that many people are fundamentalist and are raised believing in their religion and its ideas. Heaven and Hell is a concept of Judaism and Christianity.
