Weak creatures with respectable specials

with creatures like ghost dragons, scorpicores (my favorite), and wyvern monarchs, i often split them into 2 or 3 stacks--and use them to gang up on units that have already used their retaliation--or ones that woln't do much damange if they do retaliate.

sometimes i think this is the most effective ways to use these above units, b/c they simply don't do enough damange or stay alive along line enough usually.

i usually don't upgrade scorpicores unless i am very rich in resources and money, b/c they too expensive at 1050 gold, and overall i think 850 gold for one manticore is much better deal for the beginning stages of the game.

aging, poisoning, and paralysis can be very helpful when they happen--especially aging although it rarely happens. i figure you might as well optimize the chances of these specials working by splitting the units. obviously their are times though when you can't afford to do much splitting because you it would be better to bring more total creatures.

i am aware that these strategies aren't anything unique really or anything, i'm just curious how many people actually do this type of thing, and when in particular you guys find it most useful.

happy gaming,
regards,

With necro (if facing an opponent with a very strong powerstack) I don't usually hire walking dead or wights for my main hero. Instead I put 2x1 ghost stacks, then go for the powerstack as soon as I can. If the enemy can dispel it - he'll be forced to dispel it and I can enjoy an uncountered mass slow. If he doesn't dispel, then my dread knights and the rest of my army can wipe his main powerstack out. I've done that to the unicorns before and I liked it Age from ghosts, then double damage from dread knights. No more unis
