@Pandora: A girl out dog sleddering...
...ok i admit its my fault. I mentioned "dog sleddering"..and now this canadian gurl follows her canadian instincts...she couldnt help her, she has to do some dog sleddering.
My guess is that we will see her again in early summer when some snow is melted away........

It's all Pan's fault. It's going to get really cold here tonight because of that arctic blast comming from her direction.
In the winter they send all their cold weather here. Then when it gets hot here in the summer, the Canadians get selfish and keep the cool weather to themselves. And we get stuck with the hot weather from the southern US.
D*** Canadians, you got it backwards!
Why do you think we bought Alaska? So we could get you back and send the Alaskan weather to you.
Oh yea, almost forgot the...

Pandora has been conducting dangerous experiments, venturing out into RL on her own and I guess she suffered a terrible fate. Dog sleddering sure seems like Hero riding a horse around the map, but it's not a game! If you still hear our call, come back to the real world!
Or maybe she's gone on a hopeless chase after TheUltimateMale, childishly thinking that he exists in the offline world...

Pan wont say but I have a theory. She's been taking
feminist assertiveness seminars. Just look at the
way she's come back and bopped us all with this
crazy thingie.
You see, it was like this. While the dog sled was
sliding up north in Winnipeg(heheheh), it tipped
over. A band of feminist, Amazonian Inuit saved
our dear Pan before frostbite got her little
pinkies. Could you imagine if she couldn't type
anymore?
Anyway, she lived with them for 10 years (it was
somekind of time warp) and when she came back, all
her kids said to her was "whats for dinner" since
only 8 hours had passed here. This experience
changed her life for ever and since then, she has
been on a campaign that has rattled every igloo
in the 'Peg. Nobody is safe from this onslaught of
honesty and concern in the guise of Pan rant that is
coming from her mouth.
And so, I need to warn everybody about the dangers
of sleddering. Careful, or sleddering may lead to
slandering feminist assertiveness, even if you are
male!

lol...dayum
The truth is that I have been dealing with a ton of Headshrinkers and the like leately - so perhaps some of it has rubbed off on me.. plus the sheer annoyance of having to deal with these types could be making me a little bit edgier than usual.
The situation I've been hit with is this: My son has something called Aspergur's Syndrome, and perhaps Tourette's syndrome as well (we're waiting still on that news). Its similar to Autism and ADHD but basically deals with social interaction more than any other type of function. Kids with AS are often described as quirky, or eccentric - they have a way of looking at things that is completely different than most people would, I personally find it wonderful
My son is the most amazing brilliant kid you could ever meet (typical mom stuff there ) Academically he is extremely advanced - at age 9 he is at a college level in language and highschool level for math. This is where the problems are arising...
Because of the behavioural problems, he frequently needs to be taken away from the class (too many people and talking can cause high stress) for this reason he needs to have someone to work with him one on one, that can take him out of the stress when it arises. To have this kind of aide the school requires funding.
Our application for funding was turned down because acedemically he is so advanced. In fact they suggested that he be moved up grades - this would be absolutely emotionally crippling to my son...
So, I have been fighting and fighting and lobbying and all that sorta crap for months now, and it looks like I'm winning So hopefully soon all this will be behind me, but I won't stop until he gets exactly what he needs. And by that I mean what I say he needs, not was those stuffy high and mighty sons of ******* say he needs
And that's where I've been at - and prolly why I came back angry

Pan, you have a handful of real life stuff
going on. I wish you well, and that it all
works out for the best. There are times
we need to act like a warrior in this life, and you
are fighting for your son as you must.
If you are genius, you look at life differently. I
often wonder if psychs describe anything out
of the norm as some 3-4 letter abbreviation, and
fail to understand that increased awareness means
a child is sensitive to things others aren't, but
they are not neccessarily "off".Again, I wish
you and your son well.

Thanks Shiva
That's basically it, those professional types have all their little classifications - and rather than treat anyone as an individual they would sooner just fit everyone into whatever group suits them best.
Its really aggrivating dealing with them, because they are so quick to do that. They are also unbelievably quick to medicate - and as well they seem to try to make me feel like I am harming my son by choosing not to medicate him.
It really makes me feel bad for all the kids whose parents don't question these people. My son is already making so many behavioural improvements just through talking with him, and teaching him to recognize different situations and how he should handle them. That's something that the doctors felt he would need to take prescription drugs to manage...
In any case, he really is doing well. I may have sounded too gloomy in my initial post when I described him. My son is fully functional, the tourettes is so minor that if the doctor's hadn't have pointed it out I would never have imagined it. He isn't swearing or yelling or any of the things commonly associated with tourettes. He has friends, and has become a lot more social than before too.
He would just prefer to read than bother with people lol
But it's all good, we're all okay - just some days are a bit trying

Being different is difficult You can't live life from the book like everyone else does. Find your own way costs a lot of energy and along the way you meet zounds of people who with the best intentions tell you you're doing wrong and that you're making things harder for yourself by doing them differently. People stick labels on you, be it Aspergur's Syndrome, tourettes, ADHD or whatever. Twenty years ago many of those names had not been invented yet, but people still gave you that look 'that boy is weird...'.
Being different is great The world is filling up more and more with shades of grey, mass media prescribing the right way to live, even defining personal succes and what happiness means. Most people support the world as it is today, which is a good thing of course. But colourful, different people are catalysts for change. Given enough positive stimuli, and parents who tell them what is right and what is not right, different kids can grow into meaningful different adults who stand out from the crowd and not only sustain society but contribute to it in ways most people never could.
Forcing your son to grow up against his nature might cause more harm than it might do good. Though it is good to have some boundaries and to have a solid idea about what is acceptible to think and do, if it costs a lifetime to undo the damage some tinkering psychiaters have done straightjacketing you while you were young... I'd say try to keep those shrinks away from your son

Well...this is kinda embarassing, but I guess I can tell you guys
I realized that spring was coming, so I decided to take the dogs out for one last dog sleddering run before the thaw. It was awesome! The
dogs ran faster than they'd ever run before - unfortunately they were so fast that we went much much farther than I had planned to go.
So then, as luck would have it, before we were even a quarter of the way back the sun came out and it started to warm up. The snow began to melt, and we were about half way home by the time it fully thawed. I don't know how much you know about dog sleddering, but to do it - you NEED snow. Without snow, you're just... stuck there.
So me and the dogs sat around, surviving off maple syrup and waited until some lumberjacks came along to save us. Initially, they said that they were too busy - but I told them that I had an online community to get back to, so they agreed to take us back... for a price.
You don't need to know about the rest....
Long story short - I'm back now Thanks for the welcome!
