Email Got Hacked
Few days ago my email got hacked.
I also lost every person I known on MSN messenger as well.
New email is merman1976@hotmail.com
I guess now yall know why I had the long absent

Recently, HC was hacked. I did recommend that everyone make sure their HC passwords weren't the same as their emails. Anyone who hacks a forum can get everyone's forum password.

I've also lost my yahoo mess ID a year ago or so, and of course all contacts along with it. The worst part was I had there like... 100+ work contacts, from PRs to senior editors, lead designers and such. Go go yahoo servers.

HC was never hacked. Just the server HC is running on was. Makes a hugh difference!

Well I use multiple passwords but a lot of sites have the same though. I just can't stand to create different passwords for every site I need to register.

But there is a simple explanation for that. I am usually too drunk to remember multiple passwords. Heck, sometimes I'm so drunk I can't remember my current one. I have the same pass on everything, from emails to WoW, from my porn sites constructive information sites to my other online games.

I don't think most hackers 'guess' the password, they use some other tricks (I think)

Guess? lol, you mean by hand or automatically with a script?
With a script it still is ultra slow, depending on the encryption used. Some encryption schemes are very easy to crack tho 
Longer passwords = a lot harder to crack

What's wrong with guessing by hand? After all, it's not really hard to guess when you have:

lol joking (although I think there really are stupid people out there that might use 'easy' passwords like this)
Those that guess like this are not crackers anyway
