For Armageddon's Blade, could you make a fairly balanced non-campaign version by combining all 4 Inferno Artefact, the Orb of Tempestuous Fire, and a (not yet in the game) necklance that makes you immune to the Fireball spell? That would make it a combination of 6 Major artefacts.

Since thread was revived... Are there any particular specifications to create an artifact? I have a bunch of graphic mods but no new objects were defined as artifacts.
I've found a tutorial to get objects from Heroes IV so I may try to convert the Endless Sack of Gold (for a combo artifact of the 3 money generating artifacts). Does any one already imported this object and doesn't mind to share the def?

GARB OF THE FOREST LORD
_______________________
- Centaur's Axe
- Shield of Dwarven Lords
- Breastplate of Petrified Wood
- Helm of Alabaster Unicorn
In WoG this artifacts upgraded the units they represent (centaure, dwarf, wood elf, unicorns) at start of each week. Since they're easy to gain maybe they could add a 9th skill "diplomacy" virtually, since all of this stuff is just treasure artifacts. Upgrading troops sounds OP for treasure class artifacts. Moral+3 for displayed units could be also Interesting. Maybe also the ability to produce all war machines on battlefield (ammo cart, first aid tent, balista) even if the hero doesnt have any of them. they could also reproduce when they are destroyed in battle.
For Armageddons Blade the 4 Major Artifacts like in campain could be interesting, since major artifacts don't drop anyways. Nearly only chance atm is in utopias. Also very rare on map.
THE FARSEER'S TALISMAN
______________________
- Bird of Perception
- Stoic Watchman
- Emblem of Cognizance
For this one Eagle Eye has to be rebalanced first imho to be useful... mass-spell prevention could be interesting, backfire aswell. Eagle Eye speciality could deal with these powerful counters as add for Eagle Eye hero specialization.
Hero with Eagle eye AND specialization.
Basic: backfires enemy damage spells (50% chance random enemy gets hit by own spell)
Advanced: backfires enemy damage spells (62% chance random enemy gets hit by own spell), prevents enemy from casting mind spells (20% chance)
Expert: backfires enemy damage spells (75% chance random enemy gets hit by own spell), prevents enemy from casting mind spells (33% chance), prevent enemy from casting mass-spells (100%)
Farseer's Talisman could count the same as heroes that got eagle eye specialty + expert eagle eye. (Nimbus, Orin, Malcom...)
But it's just an idea.

Interesting Paradoxon.
And what does the Farseer's Talisman do by default? If anything could be done to aid those useless Eagle Eye heroes it would be nice, but I really think Eagle Eye as a skill also needs a boost.
Don't know if Garb of the Forest Lord is OP if upgrading those creatures, but perhaps it could have some other interesting effect.
Talking about Rampart, poor Gold Dragons, are target for Implosion, but can't be revived... Also they should add +1 to Luck like angels adds +1 to morale. As Luck is Rampart's thing, while Morale is Castle's.

Why don't u just use Eagle Eye I from WoG? Gives a great boost and removes the skill after you learn all 1-4 spells so you can learn a new one; it may be overpowered but for sure is the most suitable of all secondary skills boosts.

For EE Basic: the core function + maybe backfire for damage spells. But it was just a suggestion, I would love something like an anti-magic function on it. As special maybe +1% additional each level.

The skill working with random percentage, like resistance, leadership and luck, are bad setup as the player will be able to get different results on reload. I wouldn't add to them Eagle Eye, for same reason. Instead I see it as adventure feature, the guy with eagle eye basic, when active, can see enemy towns out of fog of war, with eagle eye towns + mines, with eagle eye expert, all previous + heroes.
That would make sense and will be very useful in MP as well, were everybody is hiding his main like it was a credit card.

@BloodSucker I only play HotA so WoG is sadly not an option. But it sounds pretty cool with the skill automatically being deleted, when all spells are learned. Don't know how it's boosted in WoG, but it should at least pick up level 5 spells too, same with Scholar.
@Sala Your idea actually seems interesting, but being able to see towns though Fog of War, would'nt that hurt Necropolis and their Cover of Darkness...

If you only play HotA then there is a wishlist somewhere. It is like writting to Santa Claus but there is nothing noone else can do about it, that's the major problem with close code modding.

Thank you, I know.
Still I like debating how the game could/should be. I have already wrote a lot of wishes in that thread, but I fear it's to no avail.

@ Phoenix4ever
maybe you like some of the ideas i brought up with enhanced magic skills mod
back to topic
are the combo artifacts hard coded?(cant find them in wog folder) or can someone point me to a place where i can find a script or tutorial how to make a combo artifact?

Hi Rerry
Well learning all spells requires someone to cast them first and the chance of learning them is not 100%, besides most level 4 is just as good, if not better than level 5.
I looked at your mod, it seems interesting, but some of it seems a bit OP and does'nt make much sense to me in relation to the original skills. Besides I don't think magic heroes are that bad, they are worse of in the beginning sure, but can become good. Too bad skills like Eagle Eye, Mysticism and to a certain extent Scholar and Sorcery sucks, as does Learning and First Aid... All heroes need Wisdom and Earth Magic. Imo Wisdom does'nt even need to be a skill, cause all heroes need it anyway.

Dunno how it is for you but if I reload in hota ALL moral and luck triggers apear the same turn there isn't anything random (maybe its HD mod aswell). Only thing to skip it is to pass the turn/action but who would if he know it happens?

It isn't after Heroes III. I think I prefer it this way. Make them dependant of the proficience in each school (the only way I saw it purposed till this day) leads to too many mirrored spells and inconsistences. In Heroes IV Town Gate was cool to have but you could to live without it but you can't say the same about Summon Ship, it could easily force to learn an unwanted skill just to be able to reach a certain place on the map.

Nope, you don't need wisdom to win a game. If you play random, tomes and scrolls do the job, and if you play vs human, you will never see the colors of a 3rd level mage guild. Wisdom is finally a situational skill, required by long single player custom maps. And also over estimated, as the best fight spells require no wisdom at all.

You know what I did when I scripted the Castle for a map called The Others I tried to make last Winter? I gave magic heroes a might skill like offense or logistics and a magic school, letting wisdom to be learned at due time (of course with an opportunity to learn it each 3 levels cause I don't have any idea how to change that). I think it shows how much I agree with you.
You don't need wisdom but you would miss Blind or Cure if you needed the magic school to have them. I don't need to say this to you, Heroes III magic schools aren't balanced in a way they can be required to learn ALL their spells. You would have to duplicate some spells in more then one school.

Actually I was replying to Phoenix, who seems too scared to attack the nearby sawmill without a level 5 mage guild build and angelic alliance on.

Ehm no Sala, I'm not too scared to do that. But you rather go without Town Portal, Water Walk, Fly, DD, Resurrection/AD, Prayer, Clone, Berserk, Meteor Shower, Chain Lightning, Armageddon and a lot more usefull spells? Maybe those random maps you play are really short, but that is not the case for me.

The guy who created Conquistador versus a guy that thinks XXXL maps are harder then small one's. Make your bets.

Huh?, I am not familiar with "Conquistador", did Sala make that?
I'm just saying that I would never make a hero without Wisdom, thought most people agreed with me that Wisdom and Earth Magic are simply neccesary, except for very rare cases.
