H5 Spec Reqs?
I'm in the market for a new PC and want to make sure it meets all the requirements for H5.
So if anyone here happens to know them, please post them. Thanks.

Ok here is what the homm5 game requires:
Windows 2000/XP,
2 GHz Pentium 4/Athlon,
512 MB RAM,
128 MB AGP GeForce4 Ti4200 video card,
DirectX PCI 16-bit sound card
Ok so maybe you can get:
2.5GHz Pentium 4?Athlon or maybe the new pentium centrino or something like that, or the 2.8GHz pentium 4 Processor.
512 MB RAM that is alright or you could get the next one up.
You will need alot of space to play this game so I suggest that you maybe get a Hardrive that has maybe 40 Gigabytes of space or maybe the 80 Gigabyte hardrives which can store way more space.
The more space that you have then the better it is, becaseu you can fit more stuff on it.
DirectX is something that is neccesary for many or all of the games that we play, so maybe get DirectX 9.0c I think that is the neest one out and if it isnt then get the next one which might be DirectX 9.0d or something like that.
You could try upgrading the:
128 MB AGP GeForce4 Ti4200 video card, to something which is better like maybe instead of 128 MB video card maybe get the next one up if there is one.
Well I hope this helps you, and try and get the Win2000 or XP latest service packs as they are probably needed aswell
Hope this helps and I hope you have fun playing homm5

Thanks guys, I had planned on getting the 1GB RAM, as I wanted more than was needed. And from what I know about PCs, more RAM is always good.
Processor and Video Card reqs are what I was mainly concerned with. Seems H5 needs 2.0, and so I need to get a little higher than that, though this seems to be one of the expensive factors when having a system built. As for video cards, I do hope I can get away with 128, though I'll see how much more 256 would be and decide from there.

hmm.. i think you can go lower. i have a 1.8 GHz P4 with 256 MB RAM and 9600 Radeon card (using Omega driver with it) and it runs pretty well. not blazing fast.. you'll occasionally have some slowness; but good enough.

well thats pretty good, but having higher pentium and all that nad higher graphics cards or accelerators means better gameplay and faster gameplay, which is more fun to play.
Well its good that it works, but would you be happier if there was no slowness or lag or whatever?

of course of course i would love it to run perfectly.. just showin for those who can't afford a new comp that it can at least run decently on specs similar to mine.

Thanks for the continued info. Ofcourse I'd like it to run as smoothly as possible, but b/c of $ constraints I'll be happy as long as it runs
So if it'll run on a 1.8, I'll probably be happy with a 2.0
How much RAM were you running it on if I may ask?

only 256, with a 9600 Radeon video card. Turning on the hardware mouse on options helps a LOT btw. otherwise you have a slow-A draggy mouse. can't wait for the 19th, me and best buy have a date
