UHHGG Chaining is BACK??? :( :( :(

I cannot believe I didnt ask BEFORE I bought the game? It appears that they Brought Chaining creatures back to the game? So we have Heroes 3 back with better graphics?  Or am I missing something?

If chaining is back, I dont think Jinxer will be.  Anyone wanna buy a hardly used H5 game. Paid $50 will sell for $40

Are you having hissy fits on a daily basis or was this an unplanned one ?

Sheesh, play the game first, then you'll see that chaining may not be worth it as you won't have enough gold to buy your troops if you already purchased a "chain" of heroes.

Yeah it IS just like H3...Jinxer is back to whining again. All he did during H3 was tell us all how flawed the game was and how his interpretation of the game was better than the inventors...here he is a week into it and he has already found ways to improve it.

Please someone buy the game from him so we won't have to listen to him complain for the next 3 years. But, of course he isn't serious about not playing. He is just whining, looking for others who will side with him so he can create division amongst the players like he did in H3. Some people aren't happy unless they are complaining.

Chaining is back as well as the multiple strategies accompanied with it, that require skill and intelligence to use.

just so.  7 extra heroes = 28,000 gold (instead of 17,500), with that 8th lovely costing you 5500.  and creature upgrade buildings usually cost a whole lot.  lots of stuff costs a lot.  i dont think i'll be having 8 heroes too often, honestly.  altho jinxer.. i've heard he is a popular guy at the taverns

I admit chaining did take long but it is a strategy.
I never seen anyone chain as good as Phantom1500 though.

Welcome back Jinxer

I would think that the mapmakers are to blame if 8 heroes show up (as a standard tactic) on the adventure map in h5.

am sure they will be to blame then

Maps as they are, seems they're boringly empty. We're still learming whats what, so we dont care + they re neatly designed.

I'm sure maps will become much richer(and why shouldnt they?)
In rich maps you get more fun and less turns per game- which means less transfer lag and less useless micromanagement per turn

As for chaining.. well if it has to be done it has to be done.
And im sure new maps wont allow a super-ultra day1 rush situation(like in h3)
Personally i just dont like chaining much cause i find it tedious.. specially when you re under a case of beers
..which is usually

I think his concern about chaining is legitimate, if a bit overstated.

I don't relish the idea of using chaining as a tactic and I thought Heroes 4 had a much better solution to that problem with caravans and such, but as other have mentioned there are viable alternatives to chaining ( i.e. upgrading, and summon creature. )

Chaining isn't a deal breaker for me; though; but it can be inconvenient and tedious.

there is chaining but not that one homm 3 has,now you cant run just with lvl 7 creatures or most fastest, most of the time you will pick all army with you.

Chaining is a deal breakier to alot of great players.
Each day is crucial.
Losing 1 day can cost you the game.
Enough about heroes 3.

well I'm not a big fan of chaining either, but in a way, they have made it more difficult.  The cost of heroes gets prohibitively more expensive as you buy, and can totally screw you up if you do, especially in the first week... play on harder difficulties and you won't be even able to afford more than 2.

Talk about people being the same. Mocara is just as critical, and so quick to bash. My post was a simple observation about game, and you mocara turn it into a personal bashing fest.

I know heroes 4 was not a favorite of alot of people, but there was a few aspects of heroes 4 that was an improvement and evolution to the game, and the chaining factor was one of them.  Now I will admit I havent tried the game enough to see the ramifications of the the chaining, so I will give it some time.

@ rychenroller -- ofcourse I respect you and your opinion, but I do want to point out that, in Heroes 3 chaining was the ONLY strategy etc.. just had to memorize the map and chain your way systematically through the map in 2 weeks and game over. After a while it wasnt about strategy but about practice and memorization of exact movements. I just think there should be more strategy is deciding which path to take or direction to go or what part of map is more important etc, instead of sweeping the entire map with no thought to strategy and planning. So if the chaining in H5 is like that, it will be the same old map memorization and 2 week rush games. However if they economy structure balances out buying all them heroes then might not be so bad.  Might be a happy medium.

You are totally right. Fixed maps where you have to memorize the map and chain your way systematically through the map in 2 weeks suck.

But that is all changed with a random generator. On randoms you have to use your skills all the time cause you dont know what comes next and chaining is a big part of playing well. So all you should do is probably wait a year till the random generator hopefully comes out and then start playing.
