Your favorite units/armies so far?
Personally, I've been teching to assassins/blood furies, then citadel and a town hall in wekk 1.
My favorite unit so far are the hydras, by far. They attack cool, regeneration is awesome, lots of HP, and fun to position with teleport assault

Quote: My favorite unit would have to be Titans, I've loved them since HOMM III. The fact that they are a tier 7 shooter has always appealed to me, and the fact that they are immune to mind spells is a big bonus as your opponent can never control them.
I think black dragons can contol them at any time. They are strongest creatures from HoMaM 1-5, and titans arent even on HoMaM 1.

Rakshasi(They're females)Rani, although they made them terribly flat-chested
Does anyone else notice the absurdity that many unit upgrades are also sex transformation surgery?
The Dungeon faction all in all
Also Titans, for looking freaking awesome, but being pretty dissapointing power-wise

Interesting point, if that is true, it might explain some units reluctance to get the upgrade Which units did you think... changed?

Are Rakshasa Rani really females? Always tought they were males like the Rajas but with less manes...
Anyway, my favorite units are the Rakshasa Raja and the (Arch)lich... they just look the coolest
As for effectiveness, Master Hunter>all for as far as I've seen... WAY overpowered.

Another thing I find slightly overpowered is the ability for Havens to train peasants to archers. Also training footmen to priests is pretty crazy too.
I created a GIANT army of all ranged units and the computer didn't stand a chance. Sure, it cost some gold, but it was very damaging to the computer in the long run.
Archangels are awesome too by the way... Forgot to add that as one of my favorite units.

It would be cool if you have a town with those units as your creatures.

I don't know. Maybe Fire Elementals. I loved summoning up 250 of those during a seemingly imposible siege where the oppsing force had an army with the same units as me except doubled amount.

My favorite units for each tier:
Tier 1:skeletons (they keep coming back)
upgrade:assasins (Their no melee penalty doesn't help much though)
Tier 2:archers (Scatter shot is useful in lots of battles)
upgradebsidian gargoyles (great cannon fodder)
Tier 3:hunters (imbued arrow gives lots of power)
upgrade:squires (sheild allies)
Tier 4:magi (war machines beware)
upgrade:Vampire Lord (teleportation was a great upgrade)
Tier 5:Lich (death cloud)
upgrade: Deep hydra (how do you kill them?)
Tier 6it fiends
Upgrade: Paladin (need I say anything?)
Tier 7:Bone dragon (they're nice and cheap)
upgrade: black dragons (duh)
Typo- Pit fiends/Obsidian gargoyles

Quote: Both training peasants to archers and building skel archer throngs are equally rediculous.
A good counter I've found for dungeon is empowered spells for a high level magic heroe, as emp. implosion can do upwards of 1600 dmg.
Skel archers are not ridiculous (well maybe a little) But Sirian (I think), a dungeon hero can do empowered Ice bolt fo 1500 dmg and only 8 mana

I HAVEN'T PLAYED ENOUGH TO REALLY MAKE A JUDGEMENT.
whoops sorry capslock on.
I simply LOVED Silver Unicorns when I went thru as Sylvan. Fast, effective and retaliatory. Plus they look great
I am playing now as Academy (I think. it's the one with Elephants) and I must concur with someone's note that the Obsidian Gargoyles are excellent cannon fodder. But DANG are they dorky looking. I would have preferred a more "classical" gargoyle look.
I have conquerred a Necro town pretty early on and I do like the Skeleton Archers and their overwhelming numbers. I only had that town for 1/2 the game (Warlords Scenario) and the numbers were over 1200.

Super dave does have a point about silver unicorns- but me personally would suggest going for mages early on in his yime playing as academy- aiming at different targets hit more units (usually the same ones)

Favorite unit? cavalier. Cheap and does one of the best dmg in the game (assuming justing bonus).
When it comes to appearance, priests are my favorite I like skell archers too, for their helmets
