good map jb239.
I'm playing it with Karim right now and I like it.
The slight bug I found is that it seems like red player has an additional Marletto Tower (or whatever it is called, the one that gives +1 defence).
Anyway, good job. I'm in the middle of making my own map now and I've sent you an instant message about some technical issues. Hope you'll get it.

Thanks, Ill give blue an extra +1 attack thing. I didn't do too much special with the map.. used it more as a learning tool for future maps. I made a few other minor fixes.. Ill give it a few days to see if anyone else plays it or finds bugs to fix and then Ill post version 1.1 of the map. In the meantime Im working on an Hourglass remake. I had to reinstall heroes 3 to remember everything on the map lol

It's not easily obtainable because it's basically a leaked beta version of it.. Even though this statement is hypocritical.. probably best to wait until they officially release it
Altho if you are impatient like I am, I uploaded it here Heroes 5 Map Editor Beta

*Edit Note* I removed version 1.0 of the map and added the new 1.1 version
I think one bug has turned up in the update process. The red stable is blocked due to a tile higher that the other, well, i guess it is obvious when you check it. Else, just mail me and I`ll send a screenshot

Map played out just fine
An excellent balanced map with a good amount of safe time to organise a strong force. A good amount of intersting treasures and objectives without clogging it up.
I really like large 2 player maps without bothersome computer opponents. Very good for replayability well done!
I like many others wait patiently for "Hourglass the return" with much eagerness and anticipation....thx very much JB!

Thanks, glad to hear. I've been working on the Hourglass map now.. it will take a little longer to complete since Ive been a little busy lately and remaking a map seems to take a little longer than creating 1 on the fly, but Ill try and get a beta version up for people to test soon.

Behold!
A new multiplayer map!
YET ANOTHER UPDATE!
The map has been upgraded to version 1.2
Hopefully, and most likely, this is the final update.
It's officialy made with official editor now.
The update improves terrain quality as well as fixing 2 minor bugs, that update 1.1 introduced Seems like updating something without a horde of betatesters is not the easiest thing to do
There's also a night version available. It's dark, and gloomy, and looks great
Dead Mans Lake v 1.2
Dead Mans Lake by night v 1.2
Recently I had some spare time, and decided to put that editor thingy into some use.
The result - a new multiplayer arena.
This map is for semi-long / long games.
Basicly red and blue start on the opposite sides of the Dead Man's Lake.
The shortest and most obvious path to opponent's town leads through heavily guarded area with valuable treasures.
The not_so_short_way is a road around the lake, guarded by 25+ wraiths.
The longest way is the easiest one and requires a key from keymaster's tent.
You are welcome to play it and report any bugs or just suggestions.
Is it too easy? Too hard? What would you add? I'm open to suggestions.
Installation notes:
Forget about that .pak files nonsense. Just decompress the RAR and put the downloaded .h5m file into your ...\Heroes\Maps directory
Here's an overview picture of what to expect:
Enjoy!
btw.
The is no under in this map, although it says otherwise

Thanks to all who are making maps!
I think I read somewhere that the real editor won't be out until November? YIKES! That's still two months away.... until then I started creating a map also, but have some problems trying to test it, and along with that I can't seem to play any of the maps you great map makers have created thus far.
What might I be doing wrong?
The map I downloaded from jb239 is in my "maps" folder in the H5 directory which contains a folder called "Multiplayer" and in that there is jb239's folder called "battleforhonor2006".
When I bring up the Heroes game it's not listed in any single, multiplayer or custom lists I can generate with the game.
Any help with this possible?
Thanks in advance.
Malgor
I also downloaded Betruger's map, which looks very cool, and tried to follow his directions of "put the .pak file in the data directory", but there was no file that had an extension of .pak, so that made me even more confused!

this is what you are doing wrong..
maps should not be in maps folder ( lol sad but true) maps should be in data folder , there are 2 options either keep map compressed and put .pak file in data folder or unzip it to /data folder so files are not zipped(keep the multiplayer/map name folder the same) ,either way works ...

.pak file?
The file I downloaded for both maps is a .zip file. Which I did extract into my maps file, subsequently they went into a directory named "Multiplayer".
Inside of each of the map name files there is still no .pak file that I can find.
I've been experimenting by moving different files in and out of the data directory, but with still no luck!
Thanks for the reply, I'll keep experimenting until I find something that works.

again! listen to what i say
first of all pak file is a zipped file only extension renamed so just rename zip to pak and put it under /data folder
not maps folder..!
