An Intro to Fable XBOX
Welcome to the Intro to Fable thread XBOX Version.
~SPOLIER WARNING LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THIS GAME~
The Start of the Game starts you off in a small town called OakVale.
Here you have to do some good deeds to earn some gold so you can buy your sister a birthday present.
AS you buy the present and about to give her the present, bandits attack the village.
Many people die, and even your father dies, and just about as a bandit comes from nowhere and is about to kill you, Maze head of the Heroes Guild comes and saves you.
You spend your years training to be a hero so you can go out into the world, do quests and generally be a good guy, or if you wish you can be bad, and terrorize people by killing them, or taking there stores, or in other words killing them
You can do good things like doing good quests, not killing people, killing bandits and these will all go towards your good personality metre.
If you are good, lie very good, you will get a halo around your head, you will get very blue eyes, your hair will go light blonde, your skin will look healthier, butterflies will fly around you, and people will want to talk to you.
If you are bad however you gain horns, you lose your hair, your skin goes black and crackled looing, flies will buzz around you, your eyes will glow red, and a red shroud will be with you wherever you go.
People will also be frightened by this, aswell as being freightened by your choice of cloths.
If you have good cloths that go towards your good metre then people wont be as scared, and if your cloths make your attractive metre go up then they will fall in love with you, not all people will fall in love though.
If your choice of cloths decreases your attractiveness metre then people will run away scared, but very rarely will someone fall in love with you, very rarely.

Yeah it's fun the first time you beat it as a good character, takes you a week tops, then you think ok now I'll play as a bad character! And then you realize the only difference is your appearance, and you get bored and give up.

nope doesnt take a week to finish it.
The first time I played and got it, I finished it in 14 hours less.
Also if you become bad it isnt your appearance that changes you know.
By being Bad you can do certain quests and become even worse.
Your attractivness goes down aswell, for example:
If you wish to become bad, and you decide to wear Dark Plate armour, that will make your attractivness maybe -56 i think, and it will make your evil metre go down by pretty much the same, -56 or something i may be wrong.
I know for sure that Bandit armour makes your attractivness and Evil metre go up well go further into the negatives.
It is fun when you play as a Good character and then fun again when you play as a bad character because all the townspeople react to you differently and they may or may not like you, for example:
They may say things behind your back like "he killed his best friend in the Arena" or "he is a murdereor: if you have killed someone in front of a townsperson or bypasser or whatever.
Its really quite fun watching all and listening to all of there sounds, voices, and comments and actions that they make.

Theres what, 2, 3 quests where you can opt to be bad, but the rest you have to be good anyway.
The first time I played I killed that girl in the Arena anyway, I didn't care about what people thought I wanted the money And I still had a halo around my head, and butterflies

Yes thats probably because you had either Light Plate Armour or some armour that was keeping your good metre up.
If you had taken that off then you would say goodbye to your butterflies, halo etc.
I to first time I played killed her just so I could get money, but that proved nothing because later on very later on in the game even after I had finished it, I would have every single house, shop etc.
Which I do have.
I also own nearly every single weapon, every item, every bit of armour, I have full everything, and Im now good.
There are many more quests where you can be good at first then do something bad and that affects the whole storyline.
Its quite an interesting game how it works really.

Here are some facts that you may not have known:
-When you increase your Dexterity skills, you get taller each time by about 1 cm I think I may be wrong, but at the start of the game you are the same if not smaller then all of the villagers/townsfolk etc.
But when you have full Dexterity, you will see how much taller you really are.
-If you would like to buy a shop, all you need to do is to kill the shopkeeper.
This might be a problem in Bowerstone south and North as you dont have any weapons there, because the first time you go there, the guards take them away, but when you leave Bowerstone South or North, your weapons are given back.
The best place to take shops are in OakVale, Knothole Glade and Hook Coast.
Hook Coast being the best and very expensive place is the place to buy most heavy and very good items.
Knothole glade there are alot of women and you can take thmem to your house or whatever and well you know eheh.
Also if you are wanting to earn more money from renting houses then kill all people in Knoithole Glade, dont worry they will respawn but as being the place with the most houses and shops, this is a definat place to earn alot of money.
-Quick Money is easy.
Firstly buy a house, then put an expensive trophy up.
Sell your house, then take the trophy out, and then buy it again.
You will earn some money because if you left the trophy inside the house the house would be more, but if you take it out then the house becomes less, thus you can earn maybe 1000 to 2000 gold, easy money right?
-Title can be funny.
You can go to Title Devor or what is it called nvm, but you can change the title that you are called by people.
You can have names like assface, Paladin, chicken chaser etc etc.
They can be funny, but they are not exactly crucial in the game, funny though what some of them call you.

Yeah but none of the armour ratings compare to plate mail.
The will is close, but wearing plate armour or will armour doesnt affect your magic, so a magic wearer can wear the plate armour for the extra padding.

Yes I agree the Plate armour is the best.
Compared when you have either Bright or Dark Chainmail Helmet, then your armour rating might be like 450+ or something like that.
I personnally like Dark Plate Mail armour and Dark Chainlmail helmet, because it looks totally cool and my armour rating goes up by alot.

Hmm I must say you may be a bit to quick to judge there.
How long did you finish the game in?
Also there is no real way to FINISH Fable because there are things happening continually over time.
Sure the main Quets end, but there are others, like Bronze quests which are like helping the man get to Orchard Famr, etc, little things like that which keep the game interesting.
I bet if you played it again and saw how many things you could do, instead of finishing it and then putting it down, then you would think something else better
I hope you get back into the game and perhaps post some constructive things here

Well... let me put it his way:
I played Fable (PC version) for 3-4 weeks. I've done every possible quest there was, I played good and bad, so you see I have a preety good ideea about the game.
All in all, it's a good game, but it becomes real booooring.

Trust me, do EVERYTHING in the game.
Have you bought all houses, have you bought all shops, have you got nearly 1 million gold?
I would think not

Some more interesting facts:
Scars
------
Scars show up on your character, if he has been hit with a sword.
Scars can look really cool, and can show what kinds of battls/fights your character has been through.
Here is a picture of a character that has a scar on his forehead probably because of not wearing any head armour
Haircuts/Beards
----------------
These may not seem crucia, but they can affect your attraction and scariness levels.
Some haircuts are really cool, and some are just gay.
These haircuts will usually give off different expressions that people make.
For example: Haha look at his haircut.
That was just an example, but thats something they may say, and then a whole group of villagers may gather around you and laugh, and then you can kill them
Some people may love your haircut, or love you and here is a picture showing you what someone thinks of you:
The beards in the game also affect your attratcion and scarniess levels/metres.
Some look really awesome and some others dont look so good.
Again villagers may laugh if it looks really stupid on you, or they may be frightened and run away because its a scary beard, or makes you look scary.
There is one beard in the game that you cannot buy, and that is a goatee.
You gain that buy being put into Bowerstone prison for a year.
That is the worst mission/quest in the entire game imho.
Really bad
Environment and Weather
------------------------
The environment or weathewr changes, as the game as day/night based.
Its very cool watching the sunset rise and then fade.
In some areas of the game it seems to always be raining, I am mainly referring to KnotHole Glade here in this instance, as it always rains there, even at night.
Hook Coast never rains, BowerStone never seems to rain although I may have sen it once not very sure on that.
Although it rains, it doesnt seem to affect your performance, like for example:
rain ----> makes you walk slower
But in Fable this is what happens:
rain ----> makes you walk the same as when it is sunny or normal weather.
That is quite good, but because of that, loses a slight bit of realism, but not by a whole much that will affect the entire game, usually you dont even notice it.
Here is a picture of some of the weather:
More on that later

Let me explain this to you William:
I am a huge fan of RPG's. This means that when I play an RPG I try to do everything that can be done in the game.
So.... yes, I bought everything that could be bought, I made tons of money, I did every quest.... I did every single little thing that could be done.
And still I'm saying that it becomes boring. Try playing Gothic, TES or even KOTOR and you will see the diference.

My favourite RPG games are KotOR, Neverwinter Nights, Diablo, Xenosaga, Final Fantasy...so on. They all have different style of gameplay and cannot be compared to each other. As long as you enjoy a game, it doesn't matter how short or long the game is. I can beat KotOR in one day, or in a week. It depends on your liking of the game.
I've never played Fable but i'm planning to. Got a few bucks in me pocket to purchase Fable : Lost Chapters for Xbox. I've watched a few trailers of the game, looks preety amusing. I believe i'm really going to enjoy it as well.
