spell balance
I made an version of sptraits.txt that those which are too lazy to do it themself can use.
it can be downloaded at

I tried to balance out the schools, but its best to see for yourselves.
I realise many here edited traits files so no need to explain how to "install" it

And can you turn back to the game the spell called 'FEAR'? Is this spell disabled in source code of the game?

I really like what you did with the spell schools, but IMO the mana costs are too big on lower levels--could you possibly make a 'patch' that has the default spell point costs but still includes the other things you did? That'd be awesome.

Sorry, but from what I've read in the readme I don't really like it... it's cool that you gave rather useless spells like Frost Ring a boost but spells like Implosion and Chain Lightning really don't need to get even more overpowered than they already are...

Implosion and chain lightning are not improved... patch removes all fixed bonuses (implosion had +300 damage at expert earth) , now it hasnt... so those spells are more or less the same, tho they are more dependant on spell power now, and less on earth/air mastery.
Only damage spells that have been realy improved with considerable damage boost are those that were almost never cast (fireball, ice ring, landmines, death ripple... (tho that one is changed to lv3 to compensate)
