Quote: Imbue Arrow does not deal additional damage aside from the spell damage itself.
You mean only spell damage is done?
So what's the point of using Imbue Arrow if it deals only spell damage, if any, since spell I could cast any way without losing one turn (maybe Rain of Arros?)
I said it didn't deal additional damage. In other words, the total damage equals your normal damage plus your spell damage.
In addition, when your hero imbues his arrow, his initiative is set to 0.5 (he doesn't lose his entire turn). Furthermore, every next shot uses your previously imbued spell - until you drain all your spellpoints! So it's useful in battles that last several turns...
Quote: Does at least Deadeye-kill-one effect still work (making it worse then necro Cold Death, since it affects just fav. enemies)?
It works well (best against level 7 creatures).
Quote: What about Ballista, is it just spell damage too?
I haven't checked it, but I presume it's the same as hero's attack: normal damage plus spell damage.Quote: Not to mention, if it is true, that it contradicts Imbue Arrow ability description with explicity mentions arrow damage, plus spell effect.
See above.
Quote: this one was my big mistake in campaign. Taking Imbue Arrows first.
If you haven't finished the campaign yet, just take Deadeye Shot or Rain of Arrows next and you will be able to use Imbue Arrow.

Thanks a lot Vlaad!
I still curse myself for taking Imbue Arrow first, but after I take deadeye next time, it will be good.
Spell+hero damage aganst all, and more against favorite enemies.

Quote: So?
Imbued Ballista, makes Imbue Arrow ability affect balista too. At least that's description.
Right.
Quote: So it does spell effect regardless is stack favorite enemy or not?
You cannot even use Rain of Arrows if there are no favored enemies on the battlefield. Deadeye Shot is a passive skill - it is used every time automatically (if you have it, of course ). You see? Your Imbue Arrow works with those two only, so it depends on your target.

I ment with ballista.
I guess spell effect works against all types of enemies (favorite or not).
Right? (similar to deadshot)
EDIT:
My idea is to get both deadshot, imbue spell and imbue balista.
So that both balista and hero do both base damage plus spell damage, regardless if any of opposition is favorite or not.
Effectivley having two heroes on battlefield.

Wow!
Spell imbued ballistas are awesome.
Those things fire one spell per shot.
That means with just Ballista and Imbue Ballista perks, you get firepowder of two heroes.
I still haven't got Deadeye shot in my campaign, so my hero can't use Imbued Arrows, but at least Ballistas more then make up for that.
I can't think what will happed when I get Triple Ballista and Deadeye.
4 spells per turn?
The only problem is that Ballistas have steep cost of 4500 gold in elven cities. But then are worth evey spent gold.

Quote: When you use Imbue Arrow, you can imbue only the spells that target a single stack or a limited area. Thus you can imbue Lightning or Meteor Shower, but not Mass Slow or Armageddon.
Well, scratch what I wrote above. I'm sure I tested all those spells in 1.0, but the area spells do not seem to be working in 2.0 (never bothered to patch HoF though).
Have I been doing something wrong... or did Nival nerf Avenger?
On the other hand, it's good to know they've added neutrals to the enemy list.

I don't know about 2.0, but in 2.1 it works fine with Meteor, Fireball etc, even Firewall is possible.
Maybe it's a bug in 2.0, or maybe you got meteor through the Tome of Destruction and for imbuing you need to learn the spell? I don't know...
