Being Thankful

Everyone walks around and complains and whines sometime in their life, even you. But do you really hear about anyone walking around, being thankful?

My friend reminds me of this every time I sit and complain about my problems that aren't really that significant at all, because in the end, we all have things we need to be thankful. They can be small and silly things like cold glass of water on a hot day or the smell of freshly baked cookies, or deep things like a hug from a best friend or the feeling of being loved. We all have things to be thankful for and this is your moment to make a list.
Make a list of at least 10 things (you can do more ) that come to mind when you think about what you're thankful of. You'd be surprised how much it brightens your mood on a dark day!

Here is my list-

1. The few and the true- my best friends, the people that I have learned to stand and whom have just recently begun to stand me. I love them to pieces and wouldn't be here without them.

2. The roof over my head- a true savior. I am spoiled to pieces with a house fit for over twenty people when we really only have three.

3. My partner in crime- my laptop. Together, we conquer all.

4. My hidden talents- like doing a Shakira impression, flipping my lip to look like Angelina Jolie (you will never see that), or impersonating a musquito in class to confuse the teacher. Just little things that help me stay amused.

5. The fam- for just being there. Even though I may not agree with them all the time (most of the time, I don't), I can still sit there and nodd and be happy and in return...they get happiness.

6. The art- that I cherish so deeply within me. Even though I can't always run around with it screaming, in fear of having it burnt, I can still hold it close and enjoy it to myself like my own little secret.

7. The brainage- that is suprisingly still with me. I am thankful that I have a fully functioning brain and that I have a mindset of my own, crammed with silly, loving, but sometimes dark thoughts. I enjoy every moment of thought. Thanks brain!

8. My heritage- that is obviously Swedish! I am so proud to call myself a 100% pure blooded Scandinavian that my heart could just explode. It's almost a little too crazy.

9. The perfect spring day- is when it is cool outside, just early afternoon and everything is quiet. I can just sit in a tree outside my house with my sketchbook and enjoy the day to the fullest extent. That is a biggie for me, a natural, beautiful silence.

10. Pokemon- it's just that simple. I learned everything I know from that show, and I watched it, (in Swedish,) since I was young, and on occasion can still be caught watching it. I learned my first style of art from that show, my communication skill, my style of clothes, and my political views. Thank you Ash Ketchum! It's been a pleasure.

11. My life- is still precious not only to me but to other people as well. I pray for forgiveness every day for trying to take that precious life and I apologize to my friends nearly every time I see them for putting them through these dark, horrid moment so many times. I am thankful that I am still alive and breathing and I am thankful that I will stay that way until my day comes.

I will leave it at that for now, even though I can think of so many other things! Please, I'd love to see some things you people feel are important to you, so share if you'd like.

Life is just way too harsh to be thankful about.
You got to take advantage to whatever you can to get by in life.
I think what you mean is people take stuff for granted.
Sure you can be thankful because there are many people from different countries who have it worst but the way the govt work everywhere & the people with the power.
You get what you can get your hands on.

If that's not negativity, Acu, then I don't know.
You make life seem like it's a constant hell, but hey, I've had that mindset.
Life is to be taken advantage of, of course but that doesn't mean you can't be positive and think about things that make you happy for once.
And being thankful is quite opposite of complaining, so I'm quite sure I quoted my friend correct.

You dont understand what I meant.
In this world you can have it good but people will always try to bring you down.
People will always want more from you & when you think you got it good, someone always try to keep you down.
Yea I am thankful for alot of stuff but sometimes you have to be agressive in life to get by.

Edit:I understand that theres many personal precious stuff you cherish in life & you should be thankful that you can even do it or get it etc whatever the preference.
I am meaning more when you leave your house & step into the real world.Sometimes you earn what you get but sometimes you also deserve it.
