I have another question ... When I try to start the Map Editor, the program crashes right after the load image, and I get an error message. WTF ... Have anybody experienced the same?
EDIT > Problem was MODs not 1.3 compatible, if anybody have the same problem.

I think someone mention that you should put light to the underground (or something). I have not really tried though. Only browsed the editor.
Btw, I have a question. Is the sphinx delibrately left out from the editor? I don't seem to find it anywhere.

scripting
The Editor is cool but that scripting is not for everyone! You must be a person who understand programing to do scripting! My question is:
Is there some help about the scripting? The file in the Editor_Docoments is good but if i dont know how to make all these functions work i can't make use of it!
The scripting is interesting and if u know how to use it the game will be more interesting!U don't need scripting in multiplayers maps so i'm trying do make the best multiplayer map there is !
P.S. I'm from Bulgaria and my english is not so good!I'm still in school studing/studying?(i told you that my english is not so good) it!So excuse me if i had make some mistakes in that reply.

I've also made a multiplayer map with no scripts. But I'm trying to make a single player map so I need scripts

Go below then click teraform click tile 3X click lower then go to map and click away, I did post the same thing else where but its ok to cover ground for everyone to know this.
The first time I got map editor I spent 30min reading the manuals then went to editing...after many hours of curseing at the manual aka edit theroy I reread every manual "1 hour" to find anything I missed well the part about editing the lower lv wasnt in origanl manual but the one on scripting so that pretty much covers why its important to read the manual"s" first
Pretty funny too my first XL map I did 2/4s the underground and got fed up trying to test the entrances and exits "wouldnt work" spent 4 hours wasted time >.< I felt stupid after finally finding out how to lower the godforsaken terrain. If you have any other questions on map editing I have full knowledge now so shoot away.

Hehe, "everything you say can and will be used against you"
In any case, I guess I could find it in the manual somewhere how to connect portals and staircases with one another ... but I guess it is scripted?
I know from HoMM 3 that the portals each had a color code (the swirly thingies in the portals) and any color connected up with all the others of the same color. I don't remember how they did the underground entrances, but I believe that was done through sheer proximity.

Connections to the Underground
This one threw me for quite some time, but it is rather easy, if not readily apparent. First, you need to make sure the entrance (surface) and exit (underground) have the same X-Y coords. Second, go to the "Masks" tab and mask the center square of the entrance (surface), it should turn the central square yellow. Third, for each pair, (in the properties panel), make sure they have the same "Group" number, that group number needs to be unique, in the map (that is no other entrance/exit pair should have the same "Group" number). There may be a simpler way to do this, but I have yet to find it. Why one would want to put in an entrance/exit and have the default behavior to be blocked is beyond me; and in the same vein, why does a group number need to be set, if their coords are identical; again, I'm befuddled.

Because their coordinates don't need to be the same.
In fact, you could make some interesting connections with that . For instance, you could have a sub entrance in the NE connect to an exit SW, while an entrance in the SW connects to an exit NE.
This may not be readily apparent for subterrainian stuff, but it becomes important for portals - the "logic" behind those two object is pretty much the same.
I expect that you need to "mask" part of the portal as well, then.

Hmm, I just tested something with the portals and entrances, but I don't need to place a mask on them for them to function. Why did you feel / think it was necessary to do so?

I just get back on my question: Please tell my how to script, this is a list of things I want to do:
1. I need objectives
2. I want a secefic enemy hero to stand still
3. If you capture a specific town there need to apear a question that let's you turn the town into an Inferno. (Cost: 20 Sulfur)
4. And I need the script when you reach a specefic area your main Inferno town will be turned into Inferno ruins.
5. And I need to know how I can let a message box apear.
6. And Finaly: How can I let my Hero gain a level after completing an objective.
If someone could tell me how to do this things (Or even just one) I'd be very happy.
