I know what you mean. let's try again.
Elrath - dragon of light
Malassa - dragon of darkness
the angels - elrath
the faceless - malassa
the angels fought the faceless
so maybe a lv 7 unit should have been the faceless.
But the dragons have always been with the dungeon and they are black dragons and malassa is the mother of darkness, so it makes sense.
Maybe...I don't know, somehow i feel that a unit in the dungeon should have been the faceless.

I agree with wather83 he has made a point that Dungeon's Dargon's should be made into another unit. Something thats likes the dark...... maybe a bat or a spider yes the Giant Spiders.
I would like to see other peoples views on this matter further please post your views.

I really quite like this town idea, something fresh that we haven't seen before, but which still works in lineup terms and fits in with the Ashan mythos.
Is Pegasus a possible unit?
Valkyrie?
Sylph? (like pixie and sprite from heroes 3, i.e. the new pixie with wings)
Sphinx??? (they were air based in Egyptian mythology I think)
Caladria?
Stymphalian Bird?
Oracle?
(A number of these are from Age of Mythology so use would have to be restricted to one at most - shouldn't be copyright issues since they are all accepted mythological creatures, although some more than others)

Wait is that accurate. I know that Angels are servents of Elrath Dragon of Light. I'm not sure if the faceless are truely children of malassa. I think they are a race that worships malassa. Secondly Malassa is a child of Elrath why would this battle take place? I think there is more to the faceless, they have to be routed to Urgash somehow.

The pegasus rider is a good idea, which would fit in very nice. Since we have roc, adding a stymphalian bird seems too much.
So... now we could have:
Hero - Bard
lv1 Slingthrower - Sharpshooter (no range penalty)
lv2 Pikeman - Haleberdier (no retaliation)
lv3 City Guard - Enforcer (two attacks per turn)
lv4 Pegasus - Silver Pegasus (fly, each move increases initiative)
lv5 Enchanter - Sorcerer (caster)
lv6 Roc - Thunderbird (flyer, aditional lightning damage)
lv7 Silver dragon - Sky dragon (flyer, insubtiate)

You have to remember your ballance. You cannot have a city with a level 4, level 6 AND level 7 flyer. It's way off-ballance.

In general I agree, but this are worshipers of Sylath(the dragon of air) so it might have sense to have more flyers than othe factions.

lv1 Slingthrower Something tankish, maybe satyr
lv2 Pikeman
lv3 City Guard Pegasus (weak)
lv4 Pegasus Enchanter
lv5 Enchanter City Guard, with name change to make it sound more powerful
lv6 Roc (weakish)
lv7 Silver dragon
could be a possible line up that helps balance

Yes, we can call it white dragon.
If we take out the slinger than this town would have no ranged units. I don't know about that. We could change the level of some creatures. The City Guard unit is taken from Dark Messiah, and he doesn't look to be more than a lv3 creature.
Maybe we could balance the faction by giving the pegasus and to the city guard rather low stats.
We could think of some units or abilities who would fight well againt the holy griffin empire because i think they were several times at war. What led to believe this is one of the knight hero biography - Vittorio :"A veteran of many skirmishes with the tumultuous Free Cities along the Griffin Empire's southeastern border, Vittorio is an expert in the art of the siege. He has spent years perfecting both the design and use of siege engines, firmly believing that countless Griffin lives can be saved by improving their battlefield technologies. Though his radical designs sometimes create unexpected surprises for the teams that first test them, it is agreed that his equipment is second to none."

Well i did some work on this and the griffens enemy is the horse, but we already have a horse unit so maybe the pegasus will do after all. But i think it would be more unique if we made it with a spear, well it was a thought

You mean that the pegasus rider should be armed with a spear instead of a sword? If so, I think it's a good idea.

The city guard idea doesn't sit very well with me. I think that first of all a city guard would probably be more loyal to the Griffen Empire. Secondly I think that a faction that is built around the alliance of free cities would be unlikely to have city guards becuase they are barely united. But thats just my opinion.

A bit of faction info:
kingdom - free cities of the east
capital - Stonehelm
symbol - Falcon
colours - blue, grey
patron - Sylath
History - Since the Holy Griffin Empire proclamed its new patron - Elrath there has been much discontent among this two factions. Not having the numbers of the empire the free cities were contend only to fiercely defend their teritories against empire invasions. Although outnumbered they were helped by the mountains where the cities are. Large armies - like those of the empire- found themselves choked in the mountain passes and were forced on many ocasions to yeild. Sylath followers maintained their freedom and began intense commerce. trade guilds were formed and by the year 969Ysd they grew rather wealthy.
......(and so on)
