hey jb, about hourglass
hmmm, seems you locked yer maps post JB, i like the new hourglass, the only thing i have against it is it feels kinda small compared to the old homm 3 version. not sure if it's the way the new style of map for homm5 is or what, but you can uncover your side of the map in like 3 days, i don't remember it being that easy before. maybe the map should be one size larger? all together though it plays well, no other complaints

I didnt lock the thread
But.. you are right it is a lil smaller than the original, but I made sure there was lots to do still and I didnt want to make it too big to avoid 10 hour games.
Does it still have an "Hourglass" feel to it?

feelin hourglassy
indeed ole buddy, it still has a good hourglassy feel to it, just in a smaller way hope ya make a version one size larger though down the road. see the nice thing about more map is you can settup the map with enough stuff so that you don't have to clear the whole thing, then there can be more than one way to play the map. hey come to think of it, that gives me a great idea for a new map. if i can find the time i'll make it even

Hmm...Old HG had blue and red tents...and chances to take some useful from the center day 5-6 1st week.
Now we can see absolutely closed map with strong guardians.

May be one way portals with exits in the central area would be good addition. And utopia or good arts there
What week guardians could be beaten on veteran?
Week 7? 8?

Hey,
(1) bad idea in my opinion, trimurti.
(2) Week 4-7.. depends on at lost of things really...
- P.S. ~ I dont know if this is a general bug( intended) or what.. but if you stand at a portal ( that goes more than one way ) and you have the area covered ( by another hero ) on the other side(s) you can actually just click in that area and lean back till you get to where you have marked - instead of using mouse/space + click to get there ! .

Hi Jb, nice nice map you made with hourglass Really appreciate the great effort.
Some suggestions, maybe better arts like relic or major arts in the middle for incentives to the hero who broke first instead of fully random?

I've been busy/lazy lately and still need to post all the newest updates for each map.
But as for Hourglass... I did add the tent and border guard like in the original map, and I put a guarded relic in the middle along with a lil more incentive to go there.

Hey,
- Well, granted week 4 is a bit optimistic.. but I have done it IN week 4 not presicely on the first day. Remember there are 4 Refugee camps and the whole "diplomacy" area ( the cave with alot of different creatures ) get a few that match and it CAN be done - 3 towns and all too... But as I said, optimistic.. more like a inbetween those two numbers, 4-7
- And not to give too much away from my playing style ( which sucks, some would say ) I tend to ( on this particular map ) to build my main hero up the way that the Garrison(s) IS the final goal... with the usual glance at my opponants main to see what and if I can counter some way.
- And on a side note, I may have been a bit hasty in my former reply.. I too think there should a incentive e.g. more than just a bit of stat boosters and one single artifact ( last time I rushed it.. I got cloak of Sylanna ) in the middle.
- Feel free to update at will, jb239
