Some ideas for the ToH ranking page
Well first of all I'm satisfied with the page today but maybe it could contain more data like:
Starting town
Main Hero
Opponent
(Opponents main Hero.....)
(and all this data linked to the map we play......)
Just a thought......

Yeah, if that is possible to do it would really be great fun. Gives the whole rating system a new dimension

Thats all good, but with this current level of activity it isn't worth it. Also, people are still confused enough with putting their details in the winloss reports to have those extra pieces of info to add as well. We would get even more confusion and unreported games. Got to be realistic.
If you've noticed, not a single subtournament open yet, because there isn't enough activity (about 5-7) games played a day... there was a time in homm3 ToH where there was 50-70 games played per day. I'm more interested right now in finding a solution to 'advertising' on UBI servers.

I dont think you will see anywhere near the activity there was in H3. The main reason is once again a new version of Heroes has come out and the creators didnt consider online multiplayer when they were designing it. The game is far from being a balanced multi player game. when you are beating up agasint the computer and campaigns...balance isnt as important. Longevity of a game depends on a strong multiplayer base. Cant expect any online multi tournament to flourish with players that bought the game to play the campaigns thru once then toss game on shelf and never load it again. Just like with H3....the more patches that came down the road the more multiplayer oriented the patches were the better the game was the more balanced it was the more popular it became and thusly the more popular an online tournament was etc etc.

So I have yet to play a multiplayer game of H5, yet I love the game.. I just can't stand how UBI setup the servers to play online. Zone rocked when it came to Heroes 3.. my how I miss the simplicity, yet cool features of it.

well, i feel only reason for low activity:
_ToHers have made their own private club called 'Noplace' when ubi room should be filled by our ass. That would be the only advertise. Now as it is, ubi room is like an immigrant office, and if you spell 'toh' it feels as you re trying to sell somthing to them. On ubi room the tohey guy is an outsider!
And is not about advertise or giving info. Is about being a strong community discussing, arguing, arranging games, jerking off.. so when those immigrants see a live thing going on, they want in. They ll have no choice anyway.
_And lets not compare to h3 online thing. ToH was fresh then, game was fresh, playing online was fresh, forums was fresh. Evrything was on its juvenile point. I think a 20game per day report , would mean satisfactory activity for toh h5.
But that just wont happen cause we play hamachi and secretely organize games through msn.
If anyone asks me again what toh is, i'll have to be sincere:
"Cant tell, its a secret"

true, ppl logged on zone or GS sometimes for the sake of a chitchat only, when they had no time to start-finish a game, and that chat, full of flavour, mocking each other, it was a like cataliser/prelude for almost any game. if u remember, even if u were not in the mood to be squashed and someone made your weakness public , pointing at you as a model of bwakk-bwakking, had change your idle status into berserking one, wiht some comments like "c'mon, let's see", or even "bringin on!" for those truly unconscious (just an example, and i dont give names) .
we really miss the portal, to see the "fanfare" room titles, different discussion/debates, some useful, gettin to know each other better, etc... msn is flat and most of them use it when @ work, unable to respond faster, not to mention playing.
long ago, when u logged to GS , everyone knows that u might be an eventual opponent or u are there for at least one reason related to heroes game.
it is one of my greater desire (concerning this game) to revive the old GS environment, in a way or other.
have a nice day

a user-friendly chatroom in UBI with the ability to chat freely during a game would have made all the difference.

Or if they made IP connection, and plaing treough GS become possible.
There is some statistics, that not need aditional filling, when reporting game.
Such as
1) Max wins/loses in a row
2) Max gain/lose points with opponents names
3) Win/lose statistic on each map.
