HOMM 3 - Legends.
Well...how do i start..maybe i start with my personal impressions...H4 sucked...and h5 is a good game....well only a good game..and its a fact that h3 was the most active online homm by far...
in the last years i barely played homm3..maybe 3-4 matches for fun... and guess what ? it still was fun
so what is my idea..or the crazy dream i had ? ...well its about a kinda "HOMM 3 legends" - tourney, where the best and the most honorable homm3 players of all time face each other in a tourney...players like me who still sometimes feel the desire to bring back the "good ol times" and if its just for a small tourney..meeting old friends again and to see if old veterans can still kick butt of the "new generation" players.
some thoughts about that tourney..
Well the players allowed to start in that tourney should have one thing in common: they must all have proven that they deserve to be part of such an memorable legend tourney. They could have done that by reaching the top 10 End-of-season in TOH, Winning a TOH subtourney and of course by receiving an honor/fairplay award. i think if such a tourney would be organized by someone really experienced like ves it could really become an outstanding and really memorable event in the whole HOMM history.
so my question is.. am i the only one who would like that idea of a best-of-the-best tourney ?
(they way that turney is exactly played could be discused of course)
looking forward to a intresting discussion right here

I like the idea even though I would never qualify for such a tourny. Anything that would give H3 a shot at staying around is a good thing in my book.

I think Ves is right, tourneys were hard to run even at the peak of H3. Half the ppl would register for tourney then not show up.
Some sort of H3 community would be good though (which use to be represented by Zone). I'd like to play an H3 random now and again, old or not, H3 is still fun.

Hi Mr. Motor,
you are not the only one.... I would also like to play some H3-Games... But why do you think, that it must be limited for the top-players ? I guess it should be an open tournament for ALL players who think that they are worth it.

Activity would be up in Heroes 5 if you guys would quit living in the past and join the rest of us in the present. The poor horse has been beat and beat and kicked into the ground. Let the poor thing rest in peace. And I suppose you guys still use the outhouse instead of indoor plumbing?

Nice analogy. How long has granite been on this earth? People use it in their homes even today. Should those people get out of the past as well? In my opinion, H3 is a better game. So I will continue playing H3 with the others that feel the same. Even if it is for fun

My PC is good enough for H5, but guess what? I don't want to play it. I'll stick with HOMM3. In 1-2 years HOMM5 will be put on the shelf to never be played again, but H3 will still be played.
Oh, and I am in, of course, if I am considered worthy.

Speaking of which, the "market price" for H2, 10 years after it came out, is still around 20 dollars. This is on ebay and also the downloadable version.

well to be true im getting older and i doubt i will ever play a strategy again that good and active like i id with homm3... i wont do it with homm5 ...and im surely wont do it with homm6 oder homm7....when i play a game i want interesting games with peeps i like...and i dont want to "learn" an new game...
call me old, call me lazy call me a fool, a loser..anything you like i dun care ... but to me homm 3 is like a game of chess.. its allways fun to play a game from time to time.. in real life i play chess for 20 years now... and no - i definatly wont stop playing if someone now invents "chess 2 - now with new units and 65 fields" lol
and i trueley doubt that i am the only one who thinks that way.... look at the toh statistics... there wont ever be an homm that will be as good and popular as homm 3. absolutely impossible.
