Yeah...
It's very nice... I like the phoenix in the kings bounty and I remember heroes crashed my machine!

changes from HoMM 1 to HoMM 2
there werent any upgrades in HoMM 1
ánd the magic system was change in HoMM 2
and in HoMM 1 the battlefield were alot smaller
and there was blood in HoMM 1

From HOMM III - HOMM IV
HOMM III has 8 towns, more creatures with upgrades, old engine, heroes cannot fight!
HOMM IV has 6 towns, less creatures and no upgrades, new engine, Isometric graphics and heroes can fight

Look at the dragon stacks in this screenshot. That's an ultimate troops, just add hords of black dragons then it's all yours! I think the guy who played it just made a custom map with his troops having those exotic dragons.

About artifacts in HoMM
In HoMM 1 there were just some artifacts but no combos in HoMM 2 PoL ( expension pack ) the first combo artifact apear in HoMM Battlegarb of Anduran really cool artifact but maybe little to strong then in HoMM 3 very cool combo's especially Cloak of the Undead King when playing necro . I really hope that the combo artifacts in HoMM 4 will return and that there r some special combos for each kind of town

I personally like the cute graphic of h1, campaign design in h2 and the better replayability in h3. Am I too greedy ???

Man, I love those old strategy games!
You might not believe me, but I prefer those older games than the all new super cool. I like HoMM1, 2 and KB way better than HoMM4. And I like AoE better than 2. And I play a quite old strategy game lately. It's called Empire. Anybody heard of it?

Nice post !
I have never seen Heroes I screenshots...one can see how 3do have stayed true to the original concept throughout Heroes evolution.
Love the look of the character skill development screen in Heroes 4. The complexity and depth of the heroes in Heroes 4 will be awesome.

aaaahhhh...fond memories
Yes, I do remember Heroes I and II. I played those games before.
Those Heroes 1 screens give me fond memories back when I was just starting to get into heroes in 1998/1999. I used to play Heroes 1 by the load until I decided it was enough. Those graphics just bring back the memories (especially those yippy dog-collar griffins, purple trolls and those unmistakable dragons).
Heroes 2 - just another memory - especially when I stopped playing it a while ago. That game was a real classic and was just as good as the Current Heroes 4 game. I especially liked those archmagi on the screenshot.
Heroes 3 - well, now a memory. Familar scenes and the excellent graphics are highlights - look at the dragons and you know why. Also, the towns look WAY more realistic than in H4 and this is arguably the best Heroes game in the series.
