I'm Not understanding the question.
Are you saying that you had to score with your friend allnight while your girlfriend played by herself? Or was this girl the prize? Man, thats one high stakes game. I'm sure I couldn't talk my wife into anything like that, and that gaysex penalty is way too much.

I thought that if we will destroy a lot of Dragon Utopia play with more enemies we will gain more points that she gain it...but didn't work....
THE QUESTION IS: " HOW DO U MAKE POINTS (WHAT IS NECESSARY TO DO...TO WIN CASTLES,TO DESTROY ARMIES,TO GET ARTIFACTS) IN A CUSTOM GAME!? WHEN U ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST SCORE?"

You mulitply a base score which a value which depends on the difficulty level (Easy = 0.8, Normal= 1.0, Hard = 1.3, Expert = 1.6, and Impossible = 2.0).
The basic value is as follows:
Bonuses as below for deating enemies and the grail + 200 - (days elapsed +10)/(towns captured + 5)
25 bonus points if you vanquish all of your enemies (yourself)
25 bonus points if you find the grail and build a grail structure.
So for instance the Map difficulty is not a parameter.
This means that almost the only thing that matters for your score is the difficulty level you play on.

The Grail
When you visit Obelisks on most maps, they reveal pieces of a puzzle. The puzzle shows an area of the map and an "X." The "X" marks the spot where a hero can dig for the Grail (it takes a full day's movement to dig up the Grail, press "D" before the hero has moved that turn). Once you have it, bring it back to a town and click on your Town Hall. It will say "Do you wish this to be the permanent home of the Grail?" Click yes and the town will build a Grail structure. Each one gives an extra 5000 gold a day and +50% troop generation in that town, plus an additional benefit based on the town it is built in:
Castle: +2 morale to all allied heroes
Rampart: +2 luck to all allied heroes
Tower: Reveals the entire map, +10 Knowledge to a hero defending a siege
Inferno: All weeks are Week of the Imp/Familiar
Necropolis: +20% Necromancy to all allied heroes with the skill
Dungeon: some bonus to Spell Power during a siege (I think it's +15)
Fortress: +10 Attack and Defense during a siege
Stronghold: +20 Attack during a siege
Conflux: All spells are available in the Mage Guild

To Tsepesh_Voda...
The score for a particular map is 200 - (time to win in days + 10) / (number of towns captured + 5), plus 25 points for defeating all enemies, plus 25 points for finding the grail. This is -20% for a map played on "easy", +30% for playing on "hard", +60% for playing on "expert", and +100% for playing on "impossible."
Example: you play a 4-map campaign. The times are:
Map 1: Easy, 30 days, 4 towns, beat all enemies = (200 - (30+10)/(4+5) + 25) x 80% = 176
Map 2: Normal, 45 days, 6 towns, beat all enemies = (200 - (45+10)/(6+5) + 25) x 100% = 220
Map 3: Hard, 90 days, 10 towns, didn't beat all enemies = (200 - (90+10)/(10+5)) x 130% = 252
Map 4: Hard, 90 days, 12 towns, beat all enemies = (200 - (90+10)/(12+5) + 25) x 130% = 286
Total score = 934. Average score = 233. Campaign score = 233 x 5 = 1165.
Note that numbers are always rounded down at each step, so it's easy to get slightly different results than what you might expect. For example, (90+10)/(12+5) = 100/17 = 5.88, which is rounded down to 5 before it is subtracted from 225.

The Question was for Multiplayer Teamscore. Most of the time I play allied maps (hot seat) with a friend. We have all Highscores between 440 and 490 and I think the calculation above for campaign does not apply to multiplayer. Out of may expierence there are some unanswerd questions:
1) If you play allied which score is counted. Player red bevore blue etc. or the one who get most points?
2) Does "Defeat all enemies" means that you have to kill the last one or is it okay to wait 7 days.
3) Is it find or biuld Grail strukture. If I find the Grail and give it to my allied to buil it in his Conflux or Tower (for good reason) does it count.
4) If we conquer the world it mostly end up that each of us takes the same amount of cities. But that will derease the total score, but on the other hand it will be very boring if only one does the job of killing and the other is hanging around.
I really played a lot now, but I haven`t found a suffiecent answer about the high score in multiplayer allied games and I think it`s badly made by 3DO. But I don`t care. It is the best game ever and if you play it long enogh you will get all Highscores abouve 440.
Good Luck to all of you

*off topic*
Here is a question about "The Grail", which I wonder if anybody can help me with it?
If after finding the Grail (but before the hero that found the Grail could get back to the castle), the hero is attacked but retreats, would the hero still has the Grail with him/her? If not, where would the Grail be - gone forever?

Out of my expirience you can not conquer the grail defeating an enemy hero (like normal artifacts) and you will loose the grail, if you surrender or retreat.
The grail is then lost.

So it's true, once the hero (with the grail) retreated, the grail will be lost forever!

Well, if you retreat, and rehire the hero when they're in the tavern, they'll still have all their artifacts, grail included. And, lo and behold, they're already in the town .

Seriously, *I* think the grail is gone forever; I thought that was why the 'build grail building' victory condition *always* has 'allow normal victory' attached.
Fantusta, since you've claimed that the grail remains, could you verify it in practice? (i.e. set up a test map and check ...)

Quote: Factors for overall points:
Map Difficulty, Game Difficulty, Turns played
As far as I know, number of castles, gold, ressources, etc. don't count
BS. Just the other way round.
Here's the full formula
How Scoring works in HoMM3
The scoring formula has changed dramatically from Heroes 2, which was simply a function of time spent completing a map. Many have bemoaned this change. But I, for one, think it is a step in the right direction. This new way of calculating scores ensures that maps get more fully explored. In HoMM2, you could complete a map and only reveal less than half of the shroud, much less actually explore it for events and other goodies the mapmaker may have painstakingly included. Time is still a factor in HoMM3, but much less so than getting another town, or going for a kill rather than a special win condition. The formula is:
200 - (# of days + 10) / (# of towns captured + 5), + 25 points for killing all enemies, + 25 points for finding the grail.
In addition, the selected difficulty is applied to the above formula. (Note, not the map difficulty, but the actual level you played the map). This is -20% for "Easy", +0% for Normal, +30% for "Hard", +60% for "Expert", and +100% for "Impossible."
So, for example, if you completed a map in 50 days on Impossible setting, defeated all enemies, captured 5 towns, but did not get the grail:
200 - ((50 + 10) / (5 + 5)) + 25 = 219 (x 200% for impossible) = 438
Now, let's play with numbers! Let's say you took your time and did the map in 90 days rather than 50:
200 - ((90 + 10) / (5 + 5)) + 25 = 215 (x 200%) = 430
That's only 8 points difference for almost twice the time! Conversely, let's say you did it very quickly, but went for a special win condition rather than killing all the opponents: (15 days (the division is rounded down, btw))
200 - ((15 + 10) / (5 + 5)) = 198 (x 200%) = 396
Big difference there! Now, lets say you had the choice of either getting one extra (neutral) town, or ending a game 5 days earlier:
200 - ((70 + 10) / (4 + 5)) + 25 = 217 (x 200%) = 434
200 - ((65 + 10) / (3 + 5)) + 25 = 216 (x 200%) = 432
Not much difference there.
In theory, the highest score you can get is 500. (If you created your own map where you pre-owned 13 towns, got the grail on day 1 and killed off some poor sap AI.)
Campaign Scoring
Haven't you've ever wondered why you received such terribly low scores on the campaigns from Restoration of Erathia and Armageddon's Blade? I know I have! Well, looking at the above formula, you can pretty much see why right away. Almost none of of the campaign maps have the grail, and most of them have special victory conditions. That's 50 points whacked off the top right there for most maps. Except for the Shadows of Death Campaigns, you cannot select the difficulty of play, so you are stuck without getting your +30 to +100 percent bonus at the end also. For those of you who have played the Shadow of Death campaigns, you have probably noticed a large increase over your RoE and A.B. campaign scores.
The score for a campaign is 5 times the average score for each map in the campaign. So, if you played a 7 map campaign and recieved scores of 286, 310, 248, 365, 380, 310, and 355 on each individual map, then your average score is: 322
Your Campaign score is 322 x 5 = 1610.
Tips on Increasing Your Score
The most obvious tip is: Never go for the special win condition! If at all possible, take the time to kill off all the enemies. The other main one is: if there is a grail on the map, get out your favorite shovel and start digging! Other than those two biggies, you should always try to conquer more towns at the expense of a few more days.
