Good work.
The creatures are much better then those you showed in the Altar.
Obsidian Dragon! That will be very interesting. I can't wait to see it!
I like the ideas of badger and mind reading. I think that mind reader should be a mind-effect spell caster.
The dancing skill is very creative and original. I like it.
To summary: good faction.

On your request, I will leave you a couple of words here.

First of, this is deffinitely better than your first version (although anything over a Halfling Barbarian would be an improvement to me, bar perhaps a Halfling Necromancer). The theme is also fine for all it's worth - obviously the LOTR Architecture theme is very nice, but will earn you a law-suit if you actually implemented it. My main concern for this faction, however, can in fact be written very shortly in just one sentence:

Why do we need this faction?

Let me try to explain why this question occurs to me. Of course, new factions are nice, and one can always aim for more is better, but that's not quite true to me. The reason why I don't see we need this faction is the following:

- The Halfling race seems too unimportant to bear a whole faction. We don't hear anything about Halflings in the Myth Of Creation, and Halflings are not one of the primary humanoid races. None of these things are reasons alone not to make the faction, but it's something to consider. I still hold the Halfling would be better suited as a sub-ordinate creature to the Dwarves (like the Gremlin in Academy) - but that's only me.

- The units are somewhat un-original. The Badger Rider is a clone of the Bear Rider of the Fortress. The Bishop is a clone of the Inquisitor. The Obsidian Dragon is ... well, a Gargoyle made into dragon. The Ale Master concept is a bit silly, and is also quite similar to the Brawler. Even worse is the Fisher (he throws a net at the opponent, and target is struck by fish that will damage him!?).

- The Mind-reader ... carefully, only very carefully provide a unit with Puppet Master spell! I think Puppet Master should be given only to level 7's, if to any, and only with conditions. Even Frenzy is a very - very - powerfull spell to give to a unit.

- This town neither re-introduces old popular units nor includes some of the current neutrals. That's again not essential, but something that can help justify the town's existance.

- The Class Skill is boring. The Hero gets more mana ... And so what? There are tons of skills and abilities in Sorcery and Enlightenment to give you more Mana.

_____________

All in all, it's a nice and cozy - and coherent - town. The stats are probably also ballanced, for all I know. However, the town completely lags in game-play value. After seeing this, I can't see what new concepts, features or other things that this town will add to the game. And I think you have to consider that as well. Because if the faction doesn't have anything new to offer, then why should we have it?

Ted, I did the logo you asked me to do in the IM.
I created a graphic Hobbiton.
I was very difficult (I have a problem with the photoshop) so I'm sorry it took so long.
You can choose between:
Hobbiton with one door

And Hobbiton with two doors

well, you can ask that about any faction, why do we need wizards? are elves? or dwarfs? or humans? or even Heroes 5? my point is that this faction is about something that could actually go into H5 and almost not change anything,

but i will answer your question, we need this faction because.... Elves worship life, Necromancers worship undead, Hobbits worship life after death

well that may be, but thatss really your own opionion, you could say the same for Fortress

well lets here, Badger rider: they where dwaves, they remembered how to rid bears and used that knowledge to ride badgers, Bishop: i have ediyed the spells, but i could use a different name, if anyone has a better one, Obsidian Dragon: they live nextdoor to the Silver citys, they trade Gems, Crystals and Sulfer for Obsidian, so they decided to build something with it, dragon part, well a dragons a good fall back point

i changed that, i gave it Confususion and another spell instead

well, i wanted to be unorigianal

well have you noticed its hard to think of an idea for a heros skill when your starting from scrath

Sure, you asked for my oppinion, and that's what I provided - truly and subjectively.

Still, when we talk fantasy, there are some facts that are hard to avoid. The primary races Human, Elf, Dwarf and Orc ought to be represented in the world. Other races like Gnome and Halfling can make an appearance as well, but are traditionally subordinate. No one says you have to stick to tradition - but it normally goes down easier with people when you do so!

Second, Heroes Of Might And Magic is a game with a History. The Academy (aka. The Tower) is a well eastablished town, and therefore is well justified to be in the game. Same with towns like the Castle, the Necropolis, the Inferno, the Dungeon and the Rampart (Sylvan). True, they have not been with us from the beginning all of them - and new themes are always refreshing. On the other hand, new towns should be added with a purpose at hand and bring something renewing into the game - or to reintroduce something established from previous games. That's my oppinion.
