Obama smokes??? Someone hang him...

So I hear through the nasty grapevine that Obama smokes. No **** he is human? I can not believe my melting ears. You have got to be kidding my sensitive nature and there just saying that so when I vote I think about how he is  blowing smoke rings up everyone’s ***.

I did a little research and beside the fact that we know Clinton smoked cigars among other playful activities with them, there are some others that enjoyed some blow every now and then. I won’t be giving a list you can look that up on your own.
I could not believe the hype on this subject; anything from it may keep him from getting elected, to what the hell is he thinking?

I was chanting for Clinton in the mist of his misery in the White House. That was nothing more than a guy thing to do. Everyone was feeling sorry for the faithful Hilary and wiping her tears off the screen as they wiped their own. Give me a break you know that she was having her own fun on the side. After all he had more than one affair before that and was anything but faithful. No one (not even a woman) can actually believe that if I keep forgiven him maybe he will see the love and just stop being sexual with others. If the horse keeps kicking your *** off stay of the damn horse.  I can’t see the ice queen dropping down in the Oval office with a box of Pardon Anniversario and offering a good time. So blue dress and all he decided lets get it on. This did not change how I felt about him, as a matter a fact it made him more human to me.

I like Obama and a lot of the fresh ideas that he brings to the dirty table. I don’t care if he smokes, has a few beers, or even smokes on a blunt every now and then. It is what he has to offer this sinking country and that is what I’m interested in.

I Will Not Vote For Obama

My vote against Obama is actually based on race. If Colin Powell ran for office I would vote for him, but that vote would not be based on race.

You sound pretty bitter.  You have an ex-girlfriend who wouldn't quit despite your telling her that kissing her was like licking an ashtray?
Have a parent who refuses to quit?  Are you an ex-smoker who looks upon other smokers with no small amount of contempt?

What's up?

Weak-minded drug addict? So everyone that smokes cigs is unable to deal with life and has a “drug addiction?” I’m assuming that you don’t hang with people that smoke because would make you an enabler to all those weak-minded individuals in this world.
A lot of strong-minded intelligent people smoke who are plenty capable of being in office and who have made a name for themselves.
1. Lucille Ball- Actress
2. Hurman Brusselmans _ author
3. Paul Bryant- Football coach
4. Charles Bukowski- American poet
5. Johnny Cash- Actor and singer
6. Johnny Depp_ Actor

This was a short list not to mention, first ladies and presidents themselves who  smoked. So I decided to do a bit of research into your profile and among the  accomplishments that a “strong minded” individual has, your list included the following:
1. You won the International Create a Town Contest.
2. Oh and you have 13 QP’s.

Well I’m sure that the list is larger than this and maybe you have even ran for president at some point in your life and I missed it. I imagine that these great successes were all accomplished because you are strong minded and don’t smoke cigs. Well congratulations FOG you have made the top of the list in life’s ten things to do before you die to be considered strong minded. I’m sure that the above people will be breaking down your door to find out what your secrete is…  Lets be careful not to clump all of the worlds smokers into a pit of **** and label them weak minded.
I appreciate your post however and will be saving you in my “non-smoker, well accomplished” list of people I know.

I'm Not A Racist

I think perhaps that Obama is absolutely a kind, generous, and capable leader. I think (however) he represents something much different. All the people I've spoken to about him can't seem to see past the fact that he's black. When ever I ask what he's done people respond with how he was the first black to do "this" or "that" in an exceptionally ranked university.

I honestly believe that if he became president then people would start demanding apologies for our American history of slavery. And once the apologies start coming, people will start demanding reparations in court.

In the simplest way I can possibly describe . . . Obama is not what people think he is. He is a great guy but all people can see is the fact that he's black and the larger implications of what that means to them personally. It's entirely ridiculous and I can't stand it. I won't stand for it.

When people talk of Colin Powell the tone is much different. He isn't some perfected political ivy-leaguer immigrant. He is a very intelligent man and I believe he is much more down to earth. Obama says too much of what is popular(much the way Clinton once did). He's too smooth for my taste while Powell is far more hardy and has a much more realistic view of the world.

Why do I compare Obama to Powell? I do it because I want to prove that I'm not a racist.

Thanks for your reply, I am still a little confused though...

You said, "My vote against Obama is actually based on race".

Are you saying that it's not that he has black heritage, but if a black man is elected president then America will have to be held accountable for their past?

This is different to a "Sorry" issue we have in Australia, but it reminded me of our own *cough* Prime Minister who refuses to appologise to the indigenous community for what the {mainly English} did to them.  I could talk for hours on the injustices and murders that were commited - both from a legal and moral standpoint.

I don't get the whole - not saying sorry thing.

It troubles me that there are so many Americans that claim not to be racist as long as the black community is kept in their place - ie not a president, blahblah...

Okay here's my list of non-smokers who have achieved great things in life:

1.  Everybody who lived before 1500 AD.

Except for the Indians of course, they've been smoking tobacco since they first found discovered it.

So how many Indians can you name that lived before 1500?

Yeah, uh huh...

thought so.

Kookastar,

I'm saying that regardless of who a person really is . . . the public's perception of that individual is far more relevant. People aren't so quick to start pointing out Colin Powell's african american heritage. I believe the reason is because he has done so much more important acts in his life . . . that his race is really only an issue for ignorant idiot fear-mongering extremists.

Colin Powell - I would give a serious consideration for president

Barack Hussein Obama - I would not give serious consideration for president

All because of what people perceive Obama to be, whether it be truth or not. Perception is an important indicator in determining future actions.

I don’t think that Obama has been around long enough to really break him down. I would love to read his book however. He brings fresh ideas and regardless how it may seem that he is perceived he really has a chance at winning this. I’m not going to jump on the Obama wagon just yet not until it gets closer and I can really get a feeling for his truths.

@ Consis:
Perception of gamers is that they are all geeks and can’t have normal relationships. There all stuck in fantasy all the time not allowing reality to become a part of their lives. I know that this is not true and so do you.
Perception is that God is going to carry us around on a safe platter as long as we worship him and live a good life. We also know that this is not the case and in fact our faith is shaken everyday.
So perception IMO would not be a wise trail to crawl when speaking of a presidential election.
Nonetheless I appreciate your honesty.

There is only one way that Obama will get TUM's vote...

...and that way is if, and only if, he promises to change the name of Pennsylvania Ave to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd.  We need more streets named after the greatest non-violent civil rights leader in American history, do we not?

As an added bonus, if he also promises change the name of the White House to something much less oppressive, such as the Colorful Crib or the Rainbow Residence, then TUM will have all of his b*tches and ho's cast their votes for him as well.  TUM can see the headlines now...Obama wins by a landslide!

Now, sometime in the near future before election day arrives, CyberGeeks (yes, TUM is referring to you, my dear reader, who is probably half-naked in front of the computer eating dry cereal out of the box because you are too lazy to get milk from your parent's refrigerator), TUM has some improtant advice for you, so listen carefully.  While you are mindlessly staring at your HDTVs or flat screen monitors for hours without end, try to do something productive with your free time for once and register to vote.  TUM knows it will be extremely difficult for you CyberPoliticians to pry yourselves away for an hour or so, but if you can manage to step outside your houses for once, then please ask your mom or dad to help register you to vote.  (TUM knows that 99% of you who are reading this probably still live at home with your parents or do not own any type of transportation, even those of you CyberSpongers in your late 20s and early 30s, which is why TUM wants you to use your parents' wisdom for something else besides paying your bills and doing your laundry.)  If you can follow my simple instructions, then someday you may actually become a productive member of society.  Until then,
CyberHacks, always keep abreast of your government's actions (or inactions), and remember...

If Obama were a president of America the confusion with Obama and Osama will never cease.

Obama is black AND Muslim, so chances are he could have grown up with Nation of Islam and promote black supremacy or something.

That was a pretty daffy post there Trogdor.

I have to say something on-topic now don't I?

allright I ran into this a while back.

Quote:
?EIn comments under today's column on Barack Obama, a reader asks if and when Obama's addiction to cigarettes will become a political issue. It's a good question, as Obama is, indeed, a smoker -- a fact he hides pretty well and often surprises and disappoints people to learn. His adviser David Axelrod told me yesterday that Obama has recently quit and is chewing nicotine gum in an effort to help him kick the habit once and for all.  If he can't, it might be a bigger issue in the presidential campaign than cocaine use in the 1970s.

This just sounds so....not decisive. not self-assured.

here's some blah on Barack Obama's terrorist training and religious indoctrination while he was in Pakistan.

Within my horridly busy schedule, I've been trying to keep up what's happening in the world of possible candidates.

Now, I haven't dug as deep as to find people having problems with Obama smoking cigars. If that's really the case, then it's absolutely absurd.

To be straight forward and honest, I wouldn't vote for a democratic president anyways, but if that wasn't the case, if he smoked or not wouldn't and shouldn't be what anyone looks at first. To me, it's semi-distasteful, having been a smoker myself, but hey, it's a free country. Smoking and drinking doesn't make Obama a better or a worse leader, if the case is that smokes and drinks with responsibility, and I honestly don't see a problem.

In my "childish" opinion, I say that we've been cursed with presidents that don't stoop to the voter's level. I am not republican nor democrat, I'm not for Bush or anti-Bush. I just feel that if we are to have a President at all, it should be someone that can level with us, the people of the United States. I'm guessing that a conservative group pointed out the smoking subject, and I won't even get into my opinion on the republican party at the moment. But to be honest, I think that a presidential candidate is not comitting any congressional sin by smoking.
