How about guilds?
I was think'in.How about you could have guilds.Different guilds could do specific things. You could only use them once a month and they would have a fee of 10000 gold. Here are some I made up.
travelers guild:like a tavern,gives you 5 tips
slaves guild:75%chance of getting random 1st level
creatures ,25% chance of getting 2nd levels
assasins guild: will kill a specific hero.
hunters guild:kills a specific stack of creatures.
What do you think?

Quite interesting. Though I don't fully understand some of the guide. (what is slaves guild for ? 10,000 for lv1 or lv2 creatures ??? ).
Some of the idea need more explanation. Some MAY be unbalancing coz if you got lots of $$$, u can just go to assasins guild and "hire" someone to do the job for you.......
More details, please.

I had a different idea about a guild - a Spy Guild, maybe 3 levels. The first level allows you to see a small area on the adventure map where there is a Fog of War. The more Spy Guilds you have, the more areas you can see. The second level allows you to see exactly how many creatures are there in a wandering monsters' stack. The more Spy Guilds you have, the more stacks you can see. The third level is really great - it allows you to see what does an enemy town contain - what heroes, armies and buildings are there in it. But you can't do anything in the town - you can just watch. The more Spy Guilds you have, the more enemy towns you can observe. Of course, those Spy Guilds won't be cheap...

Spy Guild
I got some ideas for Spy Guild, actually it comes from the Japanese game "Sango" series.
By building spy guild, you can hire spies and maybe, say, produce 1 spy for lv 1 spy guild, 2 for lv2 and 3 for lv3 each week.
You can then send the spies to the town you wish to "investigate". Spies can got caught and so every spy should have only 30% chance of successfully sneak into the town and do his work. You can send multiple spies at the same time to increase the chance of success.
The information gathered from spies increase as time passes. For example, you can know the number of garrison troops after week 1, buildings and structures in the "spied" town after week 2 and finally information for garrison heroes after week 3 and onward.
Another way maybe that lv1 guild produce "lv1 spy" i.e. can see garrison troops, lv2 guild produce lv2 spy i.e. can see buildings and structures and etc.
Or maybe, our ideas can be combined, Wyvern.
