deemer sux :P
Quote: Hi rampartloverschaaf
One thing you missed, is that I'm talking about attacking a random map, not a set map or anything. If you threw SD or HG or some map at me, Deemer would be slaughtered by Gurnisson I agree, but on a random, you can take the map apart with a 150-200 point meteor in week one. On set maps, my list would be totally different
-----------
i gotta disagree rych, on a set map deemer can be useful in some cases maybe to rush somewhere fast, but on a rdm map he is totally useless as main...
because:
-rdms end up with huge armys very often(fly hives, angels, etc), and in such a final battle deemer will loose you every game
-you can kill 1 pack of shooters or so maybe earlier in game, and what than? running 2 days to a well or town with guild?
- the important skills like logistic, offense or tactics are usually missed by him, coz he sux
use deemer for 1 fight, and than as scout is what i do usually

4. Crag
5. Gundula
6. Dessa
7. Gunnar
8. Kyrre
9. Solmyr
10.Deemer
--------
ok...first of all offense heroes are the best and always will be, coz a might hero needs to be able to deal damage when facing a magic hero, so this list has to start with hack of course...
than gunnar is better than dessa or kyrre on rdms with no doubt coz no altar usually or no arts anyway, only reason the others are better on toh maps is the altar
ok my list:
1.hack
2.gundula
3.tazar
4.mepha
5.gunnar
6.gurnisson
7.Dessa
8.Neela
9.Pyre
10.Kyrre

Cool replies and I agree with a few points but...
The way I see it Andi, randoms are about playing the map better than your opponent. When you win randoms, you have outplayed your opponent on the map. what I think Deemer and Soly let you do, is jump all over the map, way faster than your opponent. So sometimes you can get a week lead over opponent. That is enough to win a random, its not about playing it faster (as in ToH maps), its about playing it better, those level 4's let you do that. so by the time you fight your opponent, you should have a healthy lead. If you give me a toh map, my order is early exactly the same as yours (except I like armourers better lol).

11.voy (because you never know how much water there is)
12.edric (with 500 griffins, he's unstoppable!)
13.coronius (great against black dragons)
14.uland (starts with ballistics. Bringin' down the house!)
15.straker (because zombies really need that extra boost)
16.xsi (with her stoneskin, you're skeletons can't die)
17.yog (because hey, he's blue)
18.gerwulf (with expert ballistics, he's great)
19.verdish (again, the tent)
20.zubin (cast his precision on 30 orcs and watch them fall)

Heroes&Random vs ToH
It's a little ironic that I find myself saying water magic isn't as the best when H3 first came out I always defended water magic when people were in love with earth and air magic. I believe in pure form that Air magic is the best simply from DD and Fly. T-Portal is great for earth, but with a fast hero and DD or Fly you can cross whole maps into enemy territory in one turn. Battle magics is arguably either water or earth, but of course one single spell in fire could make that school the best, it depends on circumstances so much.
As far as what are the best heroes... I prefer armourer and balanced heroes in general since they allow the most flexability I think. For randoms, I think magic heroes are most often the best since diplo normally banned, and with the first two or three weeks struggling to get enough resources to get full development- magic heroes might be better than the might heroes because with less HP'S in the final battle magic offensive spells are relatively more potent.

Quote: >>Now- Dungeon heroes are the best no question. I would choose a Dungeon hero with a creature specialty for a creature I don't have many times over my own towns heroes- in fact I often have.>>
Dungeon heroes are good but they're not the best. Overlords won't learn Water skill, that makes them somewhat unreliable against crafty (human) opponents. There're just as many bad Warlocks as the good ones.
>> I rate Rampart lowest overall since almost all their heroes has one uneeded skill to start with already, and frequently get a 2nd or 3rd when you are building them. >>
Like whom? With the exception of Malcom, all other Rampart heroes are good-great heroes with good skills to start with. Kyrre, Thorgrim, Elleshar, Ivor, Ryland are excellent heroes with excellent secondary skills to start with. Gem may have useless specialty but she's the only one with Summon Boat spell which can be quite handy depending on circumstances.
You like magic heroes do you? Then why do u set water magic as that great?? And another point is: "Like whom? With the exception of Malcom, all other Rampart heroes are good-great heroes with good skills to start with. Kyrre, Thorgrim, Elleshar, Ivor, Ryland are excellent heroes with excellent secondary skills to start with. Gem may have useless specialty but she's the only one with Summon Boat spell which can be quite handy depending on circumstances." OK, tell me what's good with the Ramparts magic heroes.... Anyway, wan't a game, you'll use rampart and some useless magician with all water magic. I'll use Malekith and have all fire magic. And then we'll see who wins I'll crush you! I think that water spells are useful, but only as a bonus.... they are not needed to win any map......Water magic is useful but not important to win a game....however Fire, earth and air are, and that' the differnece.
