Quote: the damage from the ballista becomes absolete
Not for deleb, never for deleb.
Quote: like the healing from the tent...
Think about it as a super-cleansing: Not only cleanses without fail, but also heals and ressurects a bit! Does that sound better?
Quote: +3 attack to ranged from the amo cart ain't bad, but it isn't much either.
For magic heroes, +3 att is much. How about havez and all those gremlins? They benefit from ammo cart a lot. Ah, and in pre 2.1 times, all those 2k skellies loved the cart, since +3 att it brought was a huge increase in their pathetic att value.
Quote: investing 5 skill points in this for long games is suicide imho, unless you use one of the war machine specialist heroes.
Yeah, I agree here. But for the specialists, it really helps throughout the whole game!

Deleb is a specialist... he comes with war machines equiped. I was talking about the other heroes, that want to learn the skill...
its not a super cleanse ... its a snowty cleanse . it doesn't work against high level spells, and against low level spells it doesn't have mass effect, so removing just 1/7 of a spell doesn't seem super to me.
So what good can a tent do ? only good I can think of is removing the confusion from your main stack or ranged.
+3 attack , is something, but not much at all... compared to other skills like luck or attack (with battle frenzy, retribution , archery abilities) which give you alot more than that.
So ... what is War Machines/Tent ? A great skill for short games, and a bad to very bad skill for long games.

Yes, on specialists. But consider not being a specialist. Then what? And btw., when I played Deleb(only once, very lage map), I did not take tent, but three-shot catapult. Making a siege became really easier... . Though taking tent while you already have war machines is not bad, I could have teken tent then as well. And ballista is not obsolete on: haven and sylvan (and maybe fortress, but their attack is low) - all have triple ballista. On high-level Vittorio it deals more damage than 150 blessed marksmen... Back to tent, cleansing 3 times a single creature and reviving 300hp/battle is not a superb skill allocation in late game.
Tent is great for early- and midgame creeping, however.

@DoomForge: Tent can cleanse only level 1 spells (on Advanced War Machines) and level 2 and 3 spells (on Expert War Machines). It can't remove Puppet Master. Unless we're talking about creeping, it sucks.

ZombieLord: Holy! I didn't even know about that
What can I say for my excuse?
Well in my older games in inferno vs. necro (before the warmachines got buffed), my enemy used to destroy the tent quickly, so it didn't gave me much cleansing anyway..
And since the tent got buffed, I abandoned Inferno, and pretty much the tent aswell (since other factions don't need it as badly as Inferno).
In other words, I never even tried to remove the puppet master with the tent. Aww, never thought I really *can't* do it. That indeed makes the tent a bit obsolete in endgame. Thanks for clarification.
