what would you do in this situation?
As my first topic might indicate, I'm here to learn how to improve my game and expand my horizons to make me a more flexible player. This was largely inspired by posters here and the lengendary tactics thread talking about taking over certain constructs MUCH earlier than I would think to.
Consider the following. It is day five of week one. I have a level four Tyraxor, who is headed for an external Behemoth Crag. I've provided pictures below to show off my current city state, location, and Tyraxor's composition. What the pics don't show is that one of my scout heroes will be grabbing a pile of gold and a campfire before week's end.
I have a couple questions, both strategy related. The first concerns build order. Do I hope to build my own Crag by week's end so that the one I'm about to flag will start piling up Behemoths while I try and figure out a way to pay for them? Or do I build an Ogre Fort today so that Tyraxor has some extra meat on the field against the Behemoth Crag, keeping in mind that I can build a Cyclops Cave and MAYBE a Castle by the end of the week and just be glad that I'll be able to hire Behemoths for now without shelling out 10000 to build the structure?
Second line of questioning. The battle itself. You can see by Tyraxor's pic what he's carrying, army-wise (with the possible addition of four Ogres). You see he has Basic Tacits. Give me a play by play. Where on the battlefield do you place everybody and what are your aims during the first two or three turns to take this mother down with minimal losses?

Well, I am no H3 expert, it's likely that someone will think you should do otherwise, but here's how I would fight the battle:
Your wolf riders and rocs are both faster than the behemoths. Place a single wolf in the last slot. Place your orcs at the top and the lizards at the bottom (or reversed depending on obstacles). Try to lure the behmoths down to the lizards with either the rocs or the wolf rider. The idea is to make them waste their time killing your lizards while your orcs and ballista are shooting at them. Finally use your single wolf rider to absorb the retal and finish them. The single wolf rider must be placed above the other wolves and the rocs on the hero screen; that'll make them have their turn first.
Go for the behemoth Crag in your town and castle. And mage guild.
