I don't like releasing spoilers so I can only comment on the skills and abilities. For the specific campaign light is good but destructive is a necessity. You will come to depend on the on c2m3 to take an enemy castle as well as defeating Laszlo(as if you didn't guess you'll have to fight him ). You'll be able to build mage guilds so make sure you get a fireball before mission 3 and armageddon for later. In mission 1 you can build up to mage guild 3 in one town(2 for the other two) so get at least basic destructive and go for ignite.
Swift mind from your logistics will assist you nicely. The rest are subjective but I like defense and luck. Warmachines is not bad either. If you pursue the ultimate that's fine too, the skill combination is pretty effective.
For the first mission build shieldguards before creeping for week 1 and get blackbear riders in the beginning of week 2, they are the main units you can depend on for facing the neutrals. Brawlers will be a waste for this mission so don't bother. Use the caravans to transport the defenders to your main town should you have any problems and just defeat the enemy heroes that attack it. If you haven't learned all the spells do not buy all 500 shieldguards as the mission will end.
In the 3rd mission accept the quest and be ahead of the hero you save as he'll attempt to pass through the underground passage to the east and lose to the neutrals. Take them out before he gets there and a few days later he'll give you 50 berserkers. Be cautious, when you use their rage and they can reach an enemy unit behind walls(assuming the gate has fallen) they will attack YOU instead. They just act as if they cannot go behind walls while enraged. To take the town save your mana and take the units down with fireballs(maybe attacking directly until the ignite effect has passed before casting it again). Don't try to charge as the huge shieldguard stack will cut you to pieces. The mana won't be enough to take them down but if you wait they'll come out eventually(when everything else is dead) and the berserkers will save the day.
The only other thing that may trouble you is Laszlo's army but a few armageddons will take him down. Maybe lure some of its units to the centre to take some good meteor damage. If you have some mass buffs you should have little problem but you can win him anyway.
That should cover most of the things. If someone needs more specific information I can check my saves.

I had a stronger army than Laszlo. I conquered the whole snow terrain before he attacked. Try getting to the north-west directly after getting the mines. The dragon+thane dwelling really helps. With enough obelisks you can capture the grail and build the mighty anvil.

Err... Did anyone notice Laszlo cheats? I r-clicked one of his stacks during the final battle and found that he has Offensive Formation somehow. He's not even a dwarf and I don't even have that skill because I didn't pick Attack for Wulfstan...
If you guys would like (and someone shows me how) I can reload that fight and take a pic to post here for you.

Just press print screen and you'll find the screenshot in the program files->ubisoft->H5 folder->screenshots. They are in a tga form so you may want to turn them to jpg. Irfanview can help but I think you can do it from painting with save as-then save it in jpg form.
When in jpg you can upload the pic at image www.shack.us. All that remains is to link the image to your post.
Assuming you have read through all this you will have (hopefully) understood how to do it!

That is precious! Laszlo has what Wulfstan should have, offensive and defensive formation! Probably because he was easy enough to kill without them Thanks TemjinGold!
A more magic than might Wulfstan. A good build if I may say so, probably made for armageddon tactics
Yes he actually has them. Along with some other good might perks. If I'm not mistaken he has a superior army than you and seeing his skills/abilities I'm glad I didn't try to defeat him the might way...
Something else to keep a mental note of: TemjinGold didn't get him defense in the first mission and doubts he is the same hero at all so trying to butcher his skills to have an easier battle later will not work.

From the original H5 campaigns there were hints but now I am convinced that Nival is not good at map planning. They miss the tactical element of say SoD campaigns, their difficulty does not necessarily increase as the missions progress(some will be outrageously easy and some needlessly hard), most 'boss' fights require a very good build that many of those who play for the first time may not have, some missions may even require a specific spell/skill to not cause problems.
Some examples.
You HAVE to get through the fisrt five haven missions that mostly require running around.
In the first it is obvious that Laszlo is a future enemy or that it is better to combine armies on Freyda to finish the mission-you are not pressed to use him at all.
In the fifth you may even get lost because there are not enough sufficient clues of how or where to proceed to.
In the third dwarf mission you MUST have ignite and fireball to take down that garrison. I don't even know if there is another way but if so you must scour that blasted large map filled with pointless things and locations...You have no idea what creeps lay ahead so when you accept to save the hero, chances are he'll get in front of you and get killed by the underground guardians.
There have already been many threads about how hard Laszlo is. Suppose I was lucky to have the right skills/spells/runes, what if I didn't or didn't wait to build mage guilds before proceeding?
On the first dungeon mission you must survive with that small army and defeat a massive army of neutrals to get the optional quest done. In all that revealed map chances are you will miss some neutrals and you must go to the seer's hut again. There was only a scroll of resurrection as a means to conserve your army(that I had not seen at the time ) and I had a h*ll of a time and reloads to get it done.
On the third(?) map where you get to find who you were looking for, you don't actually need his help because with good planning you can defeat the boss hero with just your main. That should not be possible.
In the last mission not all heroes stand a chance to vanquish Tolghar, unless they get haven units or inferno if you bothered to build them up. The main hero for that campaign has the most problems because of the low mana...
And some other things I have long since forgotten.
@TemjinGold
No problem

Campaigns are generally all about magic. Just get enlightenment->intelligence, light, destructive and abuse armageddon + resurrection. You just can't go wrong with it..

Third dwarf mission was the one where you had to intercept the money caravan in the end , where you start from the underground right? If so then i had no problems going through it without any kind of magic. Got lucky with pathfinding though, i ordered the defenders to guard the paths then headed straight down where the hero(to be saved) is, set him free...got him killed and went to the surface the same way he was supposed to go. At this point i had no casualties and headed straight to the town in the upper-left corner. With Wulfstan having great attack and defense skills i put all my units on defend and killed pretty much everybody with hero only, used some decay and ice bolt but thats just about it. After that just recruit some troops before the money caravan arrives and intercept it...no real resistance there so it should be a cakewalk.

I just wanted to note I was expecting this nasty fight against Laszlo in 5 but was disappointed when I got there. I was messing around and only recruited 10 Magmas (I had more that I didn't even get). I could've easily recruited all the units available to me (you saw my resources when I fought him) but I didn't need it. I wouldn't even need the spells if I had recruited all my units. He only had 4 fallen angels when I had 10 magmas so I'm not sure why everyone is saying that was so hard (yes, this was on Heroic). Laszlo doesn't even have any killer spells.
The keys to this mission are:
1) Get the Dragon dwelling week 1. It's not always a Dragon+Thane dwelling. I played that map twice cuz I liked it and wanted to try different things. I got Dragon+Thane once and only Dragon the other time.
2) Get the Tear of Asha by end of Week 2. This is possible if you use Duncan to dig. Since the skill set they specced him with leads to suckage anyway, get him Tear of Asha Vision when he levels so you can dig for this thing when you have like 2-3 obelisks, then town portal to your castle once you have it.
3) If you build correctly, you can get Dragon dwelling AND castle by end of first week (don't need 10k gold bonus start but it helps a lot).
This means I have 5 magmas/week from week 2 (1 base, 1 dwelling, +castle +dwelling +tear)! Laszlo cannot hope to match that.

V. Laszlo
1. Give squires, griffins and shield guards(upg defenders day one) to Wulfstan
Optional A: kill angels with arma + battle dive combo to get Ring of Sar-Isus.
Optional B: kill hydras guarding artifact merchant and you may get phoenix feather cape.
2. Move Wulfstan straight for garrison and kill it with arma + battle dive combo
3. Move straight(meaning right) for Laszlo and kill him with arma + battle dive(split griffins) and resurrect squires/shieldguards just to buy griffins enough time.
