Quote: Agrael? Seriously. Lamest plot twist ever with that "love" of his. COME ON. Demon prince, right hand of Kha-Beleth, lord of fire and chaos falls in love with some sorta human.
You actually don't know his origins. Its in his bio. He is incased in armor, so he might have been a Darth Vader-esque story. He slowly regained his humanity enough to break away from the Sovereign. if he was purged to turn into a Dark Elf, then he may have started out that way.
@Nighheaven - That would be Zoltan.

Sith, you do realise that it was practically confirmed more than once over the course of the storyline that he was a Dark Elf all along?
Note that he can touch the Heart of the Griffin, for example, and the fact that he knows everything about the (demon-worshipping) Soulscar clan.

That still doesn't change the fact that he became a badass son of a...succubus. Aaaand whom that I know Dark Elves are evil too. You just have to agree that the whole storyline of HoMMV is quite naive...I'm not saying it sucks, I've seen worse, but therefore- it couldve been better. Let us not forget that HoMMV was made by Russians . I dunno what this has to do with the topic, but it's aaaalways worth mentioning!

Issimus brings up a good point. How did Agrael come to be in the first place. How did Kha-Beleth grab his reins and bind him to Sheogh? I'd like Nival to publish a complete anthological biography about all characters in Ashan. That'd be great.

Quote: How did Agrael come to be in the first place. How did Kha-Beleth grab his reins and bind him to Sheogh?
In order, the story of Agrael:
1. Born in Soulscar clan under name Raelag.
2. Became leader of Soulscar clan's demon-worshippers.
3. Selected by Kha-Beleth to serve as right-hand. Changed name to Agrael.
4. Killed off opposition (TotE: Agrael's Trial).
5. Ordered to spy on Isabel for roughly 18 years.
6. Invaded Griffin Empire, killed Nicolai Griffin.
7. Escaped Godric, retrieved Heart of the Griffin.
8. Travelled to Dragonmist Isle, underwent Rite of True Nature.
9. Purged of demonic influence. Changed name back to Raelag.
10. Travelled to Ygg-Chall, became leader of the Shadowbrand.
11. Attacked Kha-Beleth in Sheogh and won.
12. Fled underground with Isabel. Thralsai becomes Soulscar leader.
13. Heads to Free Cities under orders from Obi Wa... I mean, Tieru's ghost.
14. TBA
There's your anthology.

Not likely. Very likely, although none of the Dark Elves recognised the name Raelag - only Argoth (the Soulscar noble he threatened) knew him by appearance. Also, if he had been born as Raelag, people would have known he'd originally been with the Soulscar.

Imo, Sareth GOT to be the weakest char in the series. He does not even have a will

Arantir gave up everything to do Asha's bidding and even sacrificed himself and the people he cared about. He was a man of mission, did not even have a personal agenda.
And Sareth is not so much weak rather than a pawn of fate. For a good part of the storyline he had to play along unable to have any impact in the unraveling events. Whether he wanted it or not he was being tutored step by step for what he would become all the while searching for himself. If you pay attention to the quotes you can't really tell what his final decision was but you can tell that he did not wish harm to other humans but also showed signs of corruption since he discovered his nature. The rest of his actions are a blank you need to fill, abstract on purpose.

actually. the shadow matriarch in the single scenario: Agrael's trial. calls him Raelag. and then if i remember it correctly he bribes her for shuting up. note: if you play the scenario agraels trial then if it goes really bad for you you can hide agrael behind the shadow matriarch and then the enemies can't reah you (they will just waste their movement point trying). but after some time they will eventually reach you if you are standing in there to long.
