For a next race, how about Nagas?
Yeah, I already made and posted a Naga faction.
So, that would be just unfair, cuz some dudz have only considered making Naga faction, and others considered and made it...
The contest would have then such imbalances as are in HoMM now...

thats why i suggested either halflings or harpies.
to my knowledge, no-one has done a harpy faction, so its a clean playingfeild. i did a halfling faction, but i don't want to enter it, so i'm going to enter something different.

Can make harpy Ninjas and Halflings, but I think if Ninjas would be choosed there could be more variety and combinations. You could make Ninja harpy faction or Ninja Halfling faction. And when choosing harpies or halfings it would be more diffcult to invents something interesting...
I think, choosing Ninja is the best, cuz it isn't a race indeed, but orientation. You can make Ninja-Nagas, Ninja-Lycanthropes, Ninja-Insectoids...
All you want!

Quote: Thank you for the suggestions. We will make our decision soon.
It will be advertised in the summarizing post, in 30th of May.
Let's go back to the current round-Werewolves.
Actionjack, Godwine, Gnoll_Mage, are you going to post entries?
Remember, this is a special round. There are three first place, not two.
So, there are more points and more chance to get them.
The level of the works for this round is very high.
QP might be awarded.
Sorry GL, I'll probably miss out on this as I have the others - although I enjoy coming up with creatures and what have you, I'm not so keen on histories etc.! Keep up the good work though, both you and the competitors . You never know... maybe next round, if it inspires...

AJ's Wolven Army
The Pack (Wolven Army)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated colors: White, Gray, Sliver Blue, Blood Red
Core Philosophy: Eat, or be Eatten, that is the law of the Winterland.
Country/Kingdom: Land of Silverfall, the frozen tundra.
Key symbols: Wolf, Fang, Claw, Snow Crystal
Race Description: Wolven, people of the wolf. Hominid Wolf/Lynx Beastman, cover in thick fur, and well muscled.
Worships: The Silver Lady (Goddess of the Winter)
Theme and Style: Mimic the cultural theme of the tribal Eskimos. Very close to nature, and barbaric in many ways.
Geography: Geography much like the North Pole, with wide span of Frozen Tundra, Snow Cover Mountain, and Vast Glacier Planes.
History and Lore:
--
Race: Note that Wolvens are not werewolves, as they do no turn from human to wolf.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Units:
Lv.1 Furling Pup > Season Furling
Lv.2 Snow Spirit > Winter Maiden
Lv.3 Wolven Slasher > Wolven Blood Claw
Lv.4 Wolven Pack Alpha > Wolven Pack Elder
Lv.5 Yeti > Savage Yeti
Lv.6 Saber Fang > Silver Fang
Lv.7 Ice Queen > White Queen
------------------------------------------------------------------
(*) means Upgrade
Lv.1 Furling Pup > Season Furling
-Thick Fur: This creature gain 50% resistance to Lighting and Cold, and +10% armor against physical damages.
-*Shooter
Description:
A basic Level 1 unit, with relative good defense. Use for the shooting support that this army need.
(A furling pic I did sometime ago)
Lv.2 Snow Spirit > Winter Maiden
-Flyer
-Frost Touch: Target of this creaturefs attack will suffer Freeze, reducing targetfs imitative by 5% and Speed by 1 for duration of a turn. This effect can be stack up to 3 times.
-*Caster: Ice Bolt
Description:
Much like the Pixies. Low Def and attack, but with good movements and imitative. Good use to tie down enemy units or distract shooter.
Lv.3 Wolven Slasher > Wolven Blood Claw
-Unlimited Retaliation
-Leap: (active) This creature is able to leap across 3 tiles in distance, allowing it to bypass obstacles, moats, or castle wall (much like it teleport).
-*Bleeding Slash: This creaturefs attack cause Bleed, which cause additional damage to the target creature during its next turn.
Description:
The core of the Wolven Army. A strong and well balance melee unit, with good movement and attack, but average/low in armor. Leap allow it to cross castle wall, helping this army with its lack of flyers in siege.
(Pic from Pox Nora) But should be more Wolf Like
Lv.4 Wolven Pack Alpha > Wolven Pack Elder
-Caster: Ice Bolt, Righteous Might.
-Howl (active ability): Increase the moral of all nearby (2tiles) friendly unit by 1, and decrease the moral of all enemy units (3 tiles) by 1.
-*No Melee Penalty.
-*Enraged
Description:
A strange mix of caster and melee. While itfs a caster, it only have few mana to use. However, this unit also have a powerful attack and good defense, like other melee offensive units, but with low movement. Howl is a powerful ability too, especially use in a crowd.
Lv.5 Yeti > Savage Yeti
-Large Creature
-Thick Fur: This creature gain 50% resistance to Lighting and Cold, and +10% armor against physical damages.
-Paw Swipe: Similar to Paw Strike. This creaturefs attack has chance to swipe enemy aside, canceling all its imitative and prevent counterattack. Unlike Paw Strike, the chance increase for less tile walk before the attack.
-*Snowball: (active) Shoot out a snowball within 4 tile range that does only 50% of normal attack, but cause target enemy to suffer Freeze (can be stack up to 3 times))
Description:
The tanker of the army. Great defense, good attack, but poor speed. Good to use as a defender, but hard to get it over to the other side. The Snowball give it some range attack ability, which could help its slow moving weakness.
(pic from Pox Nora)
Lv.6 Saber Fang > Silver Fang
-Large Creature
-Regeneration: Heal full HP at the start of its turn.
-Deep Slash: This creaturefs attack has a chance of causing none/one/or more of the following condition onto target foe. Bleed, cause additional damage in next turn. Cripple, reduce its speed by 50% for the next turn, or Deep Wound, reduce its attack by 25%.
-*Double Attack.
-*Bravery.
Description:
A very powerful melee unit (think Minotaur + Rakshasa). Superior attacks, good movement and fast initative, but weaker in defense and hp in contrast to other of its level. Its Double Attack Upgrade is a must, as it will also help increase the chance of Deep Slashes. They are also pretty expensive too.
Lv.7 Ice Queen > White Queen
-Large Creature
-Shooter
-Caster
-Ice Bolt, Circle of Winter.
Crystal Shield (Spell, 5 mana) Cast a Crystal Shield around target ally that last up to 3 turns. This shield will block the first attack to the protect target. This shield is shatter upon taking an attack, or if the protected target attack or move.
- Aura of Ice: All friend creature nearby (include self) gain Immunity to Cold, and magic resistance increase by 20%.
-*Ice Blast: Its range attack will damage 3x3 tiles of Cold damage.
-*Summon Ice Elemental (spell, 15 mana) Summon a Ice Elemental to fight for you.
Description:
A level 7 caster type. Like most casters, have decent damages, but weak in defense and movement. Pack a few offensive, as well as defensive spells. Like with Colossus/Titan, upgrade is a must, to get the AoE of the Ice Blast. Crystal Sheild could be very helpful, if used right. (a good strategy is to split it into two stack, one casting sheld, another attacking). While a powerful unit, if its shoots and mana ran out, it become less useful, thus not well suited for a long fight. Also pretty expensive.
Visual:
A spirit-looking women ridding on a large wolf. White Queen look more like made out of Ice.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Racial Ability: Lunar Phrase
The Wolvens are very close to nature, and in perticual, to the Moon. Their natural abilities can be greatly enhance by the lunar phrase of the moon, especially in a full moon, where they would be the most powered.
In translation to the game, Wolven Army, when enter a battle, will randomly be assign one of the 8 lunar phrase. (the same phrase will apply to enemy Wolven army as well, or if using another faction, any Wolven units in the army). Additonal enchantment are added to the units and the Wolven Hero, according to what phrase it is, and Herofs Racial Skill. Each phrase will last for 3 turns, before changing to the next phrase of the cycle.
Lunar Phrase Cycle
The cycle goes as follow:
New Moon > Waxing Crescent > Waxing Quarter > Waxing Gibbous > Full Moon > Waning Gibbous > Waning Quarter > Waning Crescent > Back to New Moon.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_phase
-Basic Lunarcy: Increase the boost felt by the Lunar Cycle
-Advance Lunarcy: Increase the boost felt by the Lunar Cycle
-Expert Lunarcy: Increase the boost felt by the Lunar Cycle
-Ultimate Lunarcy: Allow Hero to choose the start of the cycle.
-Lasting Moon: (Hero Active Ability) Increase the duration of the current moon phrase by 2 more turn.
-Lunar Perdition (Hero Adventure Ability): During adventure phrase, Wolven hero are able to predict that in this turn, if going into a battle, what lunar phrase will start first.
-Blood Freezing Howl: (Hero Active Ability) Hero make a BFH, that decrease the moral of all enemy by 1, and Freeze them for a turn.
Full Moon:
Wolven Hero:
+Initiative +1 (basic) +2(advance) +3 (expert)
+Attack Damage +20% (basic) +30% (advance) +40% (expert)
+Mana +10(basic) +15(advance) +20 (expert)
Units:
+Speed +0 (basic) +1(advance) +2(expert)
+Attack Damage +20% (basic) +25% (advance) +30% (expert)
+Initiative +1 (basic) +2(advance) +3 (expert)
+Defense +20% (basic) +25% (advance) +30% (expert)
Waxing/Waning Gibbous:
Hero:
+Attack
+Mana
Units:
+Attack
+Speed
+ Hit Point +10% (basic) +15% (advance) +20% (expert)
Waxing/Waning Quarter:
Hero:
+Mana
Units:
+Initative
+ Defense +20% (basic) +25% (advance) +30% (expert)
Waxing/Waning Crescent:
Units:
+ Defense
New Moon:
Zero Boost
------------------------------------------------------------------
Racial Theme Strategy:
As can be detected by all the descriptions, Wolven army are one of the most powerful melee offensive faction around. Powerful and fast attack that can easily cut into the ranks of their enemy. Couple with the timing of Lunar Phrase (thought the units stats will be balance to it as well), it further increase their ferocity.
However, Wolven army suffer many drawback as well. For one, they lack shooters and flyers, which make it harder in a siege situation. Another, their defense is often weaker in comparison. Also the less than predictable nature of the Lunar Phrase might make some battle more difficult.

Okay, I am going to talk to the Moderators about banning werewolf towns in general, because every one seems to copy something from one of my towns!
Seriously, there was the Den, the Norse, and now the biracial thing with the Yeti. I've heard great minds think alike, but this is rediculous.
oh, btw: IT'S SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Army Tactics
As shown in the discriptions, the werewolf army is a very agile and attack oriented army which can hack and slash its way though its enemys.Put them together with an attack plan, and the enemy will go down in seconds.
However there are some major drawbacks for the army.1st,they lack defence and hitpoints,so they have to use the tactic "attack before attacked".2nd,using the wrong attack plan may ruin the battle, ending in utter defeat

its not really fair on those guys who have entered in a faction ages ago. the people who entered new entries can look over what we have done and know what people think are good and not, and can improve on it. likewise, the people who have entered factions have no idea what they are up against until the very last minute.

1. Thanks for Saying the pic is cute... its suppose to be like a baby-seal cover in fur... cann't go wrong with that..
2. Thats alot of underline, Erutan_Revol. But look like a good faction...and I like the underlined doted line... I should use that sometime..
3. Nothing wrong with late entry, the way I see it. You are free to post your entry anytime, and the earlier one can get the advantage of adjusting to what people think (who say you cann't re-edit you entry?)
4. Yes, the duration of the contest seem a bit long... maybe limit it to 2 week? (althought won't do well to slackers like me...)
Someone tell Genielord that.
5. Copy is such harsh word.
6. For next contest, how about let the winner of this one choose the subject? But in all case... I want "Dark-Halflings" ~ (purple skin/white hair hobbits?)
