New map
Here is another map (Forgotten Kingdoms)
I like you ppl. to test it and give me some feedback (bugs if any and other stuff you like to change)
I guess most of you ppl. know what a "buckload" of time it takes to make a map.... so after a while "I got blind"......
29. apr.2007:
this weekend I got some "spare" time so I decided to make an "final" ajustment of the map.... (read below)
Version 1.3:
Some heroes are back! : Maeve, Vittorio, Kaspar, Jhora and Sinitar... (the only heroes who are disabled now is: Deleb and Wyngaal.
No access to the temple utside the "snow" area in the middle territory fixed!
Added an eldrich well on the "red players" side (next to the Refugee Camp). Added some npc's (none playing characters).
Minor "ladscape" adjustemnts.....
26.apr.2007:
After so many nice feedback I decided to make the map (landscape) even more detailed.....
Cange log (1.2)
added: stable (next to the "The King's Mausoleum, Eldritch Well in the "inferno land", put up an Garrison instead of "Guards" in the entrance to the "Graveyard", all lvl.7 guards (in front of the two ways monoliths got an range: 11-20....)
Added another "ramp" on the Red side (another access to the next terrain level....)
Change log (1.1) just added some more "masking" and a Major graphical update of the map overall.....
Forgotten Kingdoms 1.3
Map Name: Forgotten Kingdoms
Author: Tom Ole Thomassen (fiur)
E-mail:tom-tho@online.no msn: fiur@msn.com
Version: 1.0
Multiplayer 1 vs 1
Map Size: Big (136*136) with underground
Game Version: HOMM5 HoF 2.1
Language: English
Special Win: Kill'em all
Special Other: None
Other thing:
I've disabled the Instant Travel Spell
disabled artifacts: Boots of Levitation, Sextant of the Sea Elves (it's presence on the map) and Wings of the Angel
disabled Heroes: Haven: Maeve and Vittorio
Inferno: Deleb
Necropolis: Kaspar
Dungeon: Sinitar
Academy: Jhora
Sylvan: Wyngaal
Fortress: None
just a note: several of the creatures/buildings on the map is just for "looking" you got no access.....
and one more thing... take a close look at the thubnail pictures (the small pictures in on the map selection screen), they may help you alot....
Description:
For so long the two kingdoms of Haven and Inferno lived to close to each other.....
After many Border clashes the two Kingdoms vanish.....
Only Ruins are left after the two Great Kingdoms.
But when one Kingdom fall another will raise.....
Can you handle this task and take control over the whole territory ?

I've had a game on this map now
Academy vs Dungeon (I was academy)
Was a nice map, plenty to do, and many routes to take. My opponent and I played the map blind and we fought on about week 7. I am sure this could be cut down to week 5 or even 4 with some luck. Resources seemed to be less of a problem for me than gold was, but I was unable to take my gold mine when I passed by it.
I think its a fresh change of pace from most of the maps on toh currently, I enjoyed it.

Took a look at it in the editor - one of the few really good-looking maps, leaves impression that Fiur put hell of a job in it...

I have played something like 4 weeks in a "non-necro" game with Fiur on this now, and it is truly enjoyable! These latest maps, this one and HoD, show that we have some really quality mapmakers around, thanks guys!

so nice to read all those great feedbacks....
well I'm not guite satisfied yet with the Graphical "outcome" of the map.... I know there is several thing still to come....
I will work on the the map "little" by "little" in the future
(as I already have done in the past)
there are still some empty spaces to fill and sure some minor ajustemts.... (but I will not release a new version each week....)
so I quess my 1.2 version will be my last one (hopefully)
I guess when some of you great players out there have played this map maybe you'll find something who needs to be change....
(so when I've collected some feedback I'll make and 1.2 version)
for now I just change some graphicals and minor other things....
again thanx alot for the feedback just what an mapmaker need...

disabled Heroes: Haven: Maeve and Vittorio
Inferno: Deleb
Necropolis: Kaspar
Dungeon: Sinitar
Academy: Jhora
Sylvan: Wyngaal
Fortress: None
I dont like this part from your map. Haven have disabled 2 heroes. Kaspar is 1 from most stupid necro heroes...if ppl want lets use him. Sinitar is good but Yrwanna is not less good. Jhora is normal good hero but not more...i can understand if disabled is Haves--> WM.
For me ban can be only Deleb/Wyngaal. For Vittorio i'm 50/50. So many games i see him how make 12 dmg per shot on lvl 8-9. Hero is good...but for map 5-6 week i will not choice him for sure.
Other look ok for now

a natural feel....
I played 3 full weeks on your map, and have not yet busted through the level 7s....Kind of scary not knowing what lies on the other side
I had 6 shadow dragons guarding my level 5 dwelling, so i couldnt take that early.
I chose to take my wood and ore mines week 1, then clear the level 2 stack , then clear the path to underground....i kept going with hero above ground though all the way till the one-way portal. I took that, back to my town. Then i went straight down to take the mines.
The best part still lies ahead, with all the goodies on the other sides of the two-way portals.

well Karim26 this may help you a bit... just visit the "hut of magi" next to the 2ways portal...... then U'll get a clue...
(and I guess you're playing the "red" side....) Next time you'll maybe play "blue"
if so..... well a whole different place.... not like the red side at all!

Just wanted to mention,
Fiur and I had a great game on this map yesterday. Extremely close final battle, lots of good tactics, not cookie cut armies.
This map requires you play a little differently than alot of others I think, the scouting on it is really vital, as well as many strategic map locations that will prove to be huge helps for you along the way. And Fiur really isn't kidding when he says those thumbnails on the mini map screen will help you out.
I think final combat was week5 with shackles equipped, total game time was about 4 hours 31 minutes. And I was guilty of ending sim turns a little earlier than was nessecary
The match was Red- Necroma Fiur, Blue- Academy Me. Great battle very fun game. No auto pilot here.

Major..... :)
Well I got some reply that the monoliths is kinda confusing....
so I done something about that (look at images below...)
I've also made an PDF file with an "detailed" decription....
(what artefact that is on "every" game and so on.... check it out...
Forgotten Kingdoms PDF
Added an 1.4 version too:
Forgotten Kingdoms 1.4
screen shots of the map (with an explanation of the monoliths and also where to find "what" mines and wells....)
(hopefully this makes it easier now... (ps. check out the PDF file!)

Who you doing all this craps with heroes? I don't like it.
Many from ToH plaers who make maps forget 1 important stuf. You are doing map not game. Balance h5 is not your job. 99% from ppl who play h5 not play multiplaer. When they can't choice his favorite hero simple not play this "stupid" map and move to other where can choice all heroes.
Maybe i'm abit rude but all what i say is true

Yeah, you are rude and no, I think you have got it all wrong.
1 - This is a map where 3(?) ordinary heroes are disabled, and some campaignheroes are in. Which, I guess, will make it more options here than at a regular map.
2 - This is as far as I know a map made for Multiplaying, and ToH, so why you try to defend your views with single players that can only play Deleb, I don`t know. Its touching how you consider the poor players who can only play Deleb, Wyngaal or Nur.
When they can't choice his favorite hero simple not play this "stupid" map and move to other where can choice all heroes.
Should we cry?
3 - You fire a bullet at the very people that makes this community live, and make great maps. Why on earth cant they make the maps they want? Feel free to not play it of course, but I have had 3 most enjoyable games on this one, and I know others have aswell.
Have you even tried it? Or are you one of those who move on from the "Stupid" map to one where you can have Wyngaal?
One last question: Is it ok to disable spells? Like Instant travel? Or Artifacts? Of course you understand that could be just as much "balancing" H5 in that, since the factions have different need for arties and spells.
Next time you feel like flaming someone who offer you something like a brand new map, that probably 100+ hours have been put into, have a coffee instead please.

That tops it. The changes are made exactly like you asked for in this post(with the exception of Nur), and you still freak out. Gotta love that.

hmmm
Elit,
I look at your player record, and you played Hourglass 30 times.
To me , you do not play Heroes 5, but a different version of it called Hourglass
You memorize that map perfectly with Academy, this is not Heroes 5 to me, but someone who can only play 1 map
You shouldnt bash Fiur map like that my friend. Learn it instead, then if you don t like it, you can bash it
I think its a great map.
