Swamplord, I never said US government is fascist  just the statement that colonel_here wrote was a bit.. umm.. weird.
Also, I don't see any reason to put this thread at vulcanic wastelands. We talk about politics, we don't flame.. what's wrong? Better delete the godtalk, since the posts there are becoming more and more ridiculous. And a mile long.

Hey, let's talk about Hitler. He was a real meanie, much meaner than Bush. When it comes to being mean, Bush is a total noob compared to Hitler. Now Bush isn't too bright, but I think he's smart enough to know he's not nearly as cool as Hitler. Mussolini is a different story. He knew he was not only as cool as Hitler, but quite possibly even cooler. He came right out and said so in his speeches. They went something like this.
"I'm cool. I'm so very cool. You want to know how cool I am, I'm going to invade Greece. I'm totally cool, huh?
*pauses and looks around for dramatic effect*
*nods his head in satisfaction*
"So there!"
OK, I admit I don't speak Italian, but I'm pretty sure that's what he was saying.

I prefer to compare US to Ancient Athens. Democaracy on the inside and military fist on outside.

I would call it Spartha then, since it was quite democratic (for mature sparthats, not their servants ofc ). Athen's weren't strong on land and never had professional army, even though they had master tacticians & strategists. Athens preferred to press other economically than fight. Sparthan diplomacy, on the contrary, was based on fist  . Even T.Jefferson, referring to athens' democracy, said 'This is exactly what we need to never become'.

Well I got opinion about Sparta and Athens from reading Peleponesian War by Thycidides, they did not seem to be really active in imposing their opinions and actions on other states, they seems to kept more neutral. Athens on other hand first established Delian Alliance, with centre being on island of Delos. Than forcebly moved that centre and the treasury to Athens. And I remeber that when island of Lesbos failed to bring in its share of money and ships, Athens send military force to wipe out all male population of the island.

without Russia, you would do nothing. The Reich had insane technological advantage and much more experience. It's different for Russia, though: Russia would stop Hitler with or without your help. Russia won Hitler, not you. You've just helped. Sad truth, live with it.

Also, Reich did not have extreme advantage, and we sent massive amounts of material to russia.
I'll stop with WW2 now. i don't want to push this further off-topic.
Shai-Hulud, in your earlier post about Kerry and women rights activists being searched, they're called "random" searches for a reason. Again, I think you need to take a closer look at your evidence- some of it does not make sense.
