Hello.
There are a lot of files in a directory HeroesV/Data/Data/Bin/Geometries and then a lot of files with names like "0DE0B475-3EDB-44D7-AFF5-1BF444E74216" However, they are the only ones that work with the 3D conversion software. How do you tell which is which?

I ran a search to see which files refer to the ones in the Geometries directory. I assume that you can see what file belongs to what model with looking at the file names of the search result. I don't know how to open the models, so I can't promise if the files belong to the right ones at all... I just thought that might be the case. Please tell me if they don't fit, I'll delete my post then.
ok, here is the search result:
../../_(Model)/Buildings/Elemental_Stockpile.(Model).xdb: <uid>001B9ECB-0A31-45D1-970C-BED9C1246EE7</uid>
../../_(Model)/Buildings/ShrineOfMagicIncantation.(Model).xdb: <uid>004D8A35-9ACE-4D1F-A657-3543936303C8</uid>

Ah, only in Modders' Workshop could we have such a weird thread name...
Could someone enlighten me - has any progress been made on changing the models? I hear they can be extracted, but this is presumably only one-way...?

As dschingi said, the model file contains the uid of the geometry file. AFAIK, you can't go back the other way, unless having compiled a list to search through. I don't think it's a big problem anyway, as anyone wanting to change an element would start from the model anyway.
I don't know how to convert them back and forth to a 3D editable format, but if it can be done one way, I don't see why it couldn't be repackaged back. What's for sure is that you can replace one of these files with another. It's tricky but possible, as prove the various creature design mods (like Cleric or Treant).

That's the problem. I can't start from the model because there is no way to get at them. I can't find a conversion program anywhere.
