hmm... maybe we could make such a faction... you know, Gnolls(i miss those freaks ), Nagas, Gorgons, well, you get the point, all "water" H3 creatures( ). it would be hard to incorporate them all in one faction tho.

as i mentioned earlier, if there was going to be a leviathan creature which is supposed to be a an upgrade for the water dragon for those pertaining to swamp or water factions, it would look something like this:

If there will be a chimaera in heroes VI, I think it will be neutral since it doesn't quite fit within the other propable factions(naga, free cities, dragon knights)
Also, it's good to keep it real. I like most of the ideas that were presented here, but we should take into consideration the hints we were given over the last 2 years when thinking about the next faction to be unveiled in the Ashan world. And the fact is that besides the three possible factions mentioned above, there are very slim chances for others, especially since 8+3=11, which is the number that Fabrice once said to be the total of factions.
The only thing I can come up with besides the ones mentioned above is that if Sareth hasn't used the skull to free his father but for his own purposes an evil sorcerer town comes to mind, some type of an evil academy who worship no dragon god, but they worship the power of the skull or something (it could have troglodytes, harpies, apprentice, satyr, efreet, acolyte and evil sorceress )

And there are a lot more possible factions. Ancient races, such as the Faceless, Dinosaurs, or Shantiri coming from the past to the present, Exiles from another plane, bunnies, etc.

Nagas of course!
They are the obvious choice i think.
They mention them in the campaign and they are the only race that doesnt appear in game that was blessed by the Dragons.

I think a serpentine, sea-oriënted race would be nice (with the Naga as one of the units)
I think I'll use this race in ICTC4
Others that would be nice: Dragon Knights, Insectoïds, Lizards and an Egyptian Oriënted faction.
I also love the Idea of a femine faction (like my Half-Elves)

In the ICTC section there is a Vampiric Race. I don't recall the faction maker but the whole faction is exceptional. Of course the only thing that will have to be changed is the name, because vampires belong to necro. So a name would be better suited. NEROZNAK is a good name, it comes from Russia and let's not forget that NIVAL is a russian company. Besides this I guess lizards, egyptian creatures and some of the creatures added in the NCF could form a faction.

I keep seeing bits of info hinting that Nival actually works on a third expansion. Any truth in that?

I doubt a third expansion will be made, it will most likely move to H6.

If it's based on the Heroes V Nival artwork for the Naga: this was a concept for Nagas in the Academy faction, before they were replaced by Rakshasas
If it's based on Nival's artwork for a "Sanctuary" town: same as above
If it's based on the overarching lore: I don't see any of the Faceless in Heroes V, either
If it's based on Fabrice's comment on "more than a patch plan": while intriguing, this is almost definitely not a new expansion
If it's based on the deleted HV Naga model in the data files: other files indicate that it was apparently planned as a neutral and removed
And if it's based on anything else: several Ubi sources, all official, state unambiguously that Tribes was the final expansion, and that the "Heroes V project" has come to an end. This doesn't outrule free, official content patches, though...
But there's been many staff cuts at Nival, too many, I believe, for any expansions to be created in the foreseeable future. Ubi would also more or less need the developer to make one... and apparently Nival are gone
