Naga and Crystal Dragon
Naga, Crystal Dragon and another creature called Snow Ape, will probably be on Tribes of the East expansion as neutral creatures. I found XDB files on HoF data, with the other neutral creatures, that testify that they will be on HOMM5, or atleast that it is planned. Hints like that have been given before, about creatures that came with HoF, so I hope this one is real.
I took a screenshot of the folder I found it in.

They can also be found in the editor, but they don't have a 3d apearence nor the required files (For the snow ape they're just not linked) they cannot be used now except for the snow ape someone already made a MOD to bring it back I can't find it back though. I don't remember where I found it.

That isn't a Shadow Ape. It's the Snow Ape, a.k.a. Yeti, that was planned for Hammers of Fate but discarded for some reason. 'Show Ape' is a typo, it should have said 'Snow Ape' but the error seems to have evaded Nival's eyes.

Also, Crystal and Naga have been around for a while. I think they started making Naga files, then make Rakks, and left the Naga files there because they did not clean up.

Yes, there has been a lot of posts about this, though I'm too tired to dig them out right now. Naga and Crystal Dragon was in the alpha, but was discarded very early - Naga became Rakshasa, and I guess you can say Crystal Dragon became Emerald Dragon, though I'm not quite sure that's entirely precise. They might have intended the Crystal Dragon as a neutral a-la Heroes 3 AB, but since we know that the Firebird / Phoenix was originally intended for Sylvan level 7, it's probably a pretty safe bed that the Crystal Dragon became redundant when they changed to Green / Emerald Dragons.
The Snow Ape was planned for HoF but discarded in last minute. We can only guess that the Blade Singer inherited the Agility ability and made it redundant, but it might have happened the other way around also.
Btw. Nival have said specifically that there will be no more neutrals in TotE.

I doubt that they have never been planned to be neutral creatures.
Otherwise, they just wouldn't be on the neutrals folder. They don't just throw files there.

there was a thing a while back where everyone was supposed to quote eachother and say "That's what she said" independant of the person's gender.
Also, one wonders why they would leave the files there if they are not being put to use...

There are a lot of files lying around which are no longer used. I think they thought it would be too much trouble for no use to go through it all to take out those who are no longer in use. After all, they only take out a fraction of the overall game size, and harm no-one when left there.
That they are in the Neutrals folder would indicate they were at some point indicated as neutrals, but that does not rule out the possibility that they might have been intended for inclusion in towns at some point. We can only guess.

Naga > Academy
Crystal Dragon > Academy (unlikely) Sylvan (possibly, esspecially if it was Green >> Crystal)
Snow Ape > Fortress or Neutral
