Dreams & Future Plans
We have been talking about what we are and what we have been, but what about what we will be and what we want to be?
(Another non-HoMM issue here)
I mean the future, dear friends.
Are you looking forward to it?
What are the thing you look for? (Not only HoMMIV release but other things in your life)
Of course there are people of different ages here (you can
talk whether your "dreams" came true or not. Not saying that you old beards wouldn't have any to dream for, LOL)
It's possible this kind of thread is somewhere out there but at least I haven't really found something like this yet.
Dreams…
I'm little bit that kind of person that doesn't want to tell about his dreams and fantasies. I'm not truly dreamer type who thinks the future. I think I live in the present and keep my foot in the ground.
But there are some things I could mention...
Family?
No way.
I have never cared about children. I don't get along with them. I get even better along with animals than children. Maybe I'm childish myself as I cannot really communicate with children. Of course my plans might change after five or ten years and then I might think differently. I find some relatives saying that "you're so young…just wait for some time and you want children". Well…everybody have their view…some people close to me like my sister have said (politely) that I shouldn't get children because how I could take care of them if I can't take care of myself?
Career?
Before I had also dream that I could teach people. I'm not sure am I qualified for that still. I get pretty frustrated to say same things all over again and I might get bored quite soon.
I'm studying marketing right now but I'm not sure is "the economic and stock market world" really my pick. I'm not really into money business you know. I would like to study some things more but there are many ways to study and it's possible I pick some profession I just care for and study on my freetime. I don't really want to get job which I would get bored after a year and still be in the same place for 30 years. It would eventually kill me.
Hobbies?
I would like to write a book. Yes, that's right. Book. I have had that long in my mind...let's say from the moment I started writing first time. Part of the reason being in this community is writing for me. Learning english and also meeting people from other parts of the world. Also being in this kind of place about fantasygame there are people with good imagination. Even if I don't participate those "roleplaying stories" here on board I have tried to read them and learn from them. I have writed some short stories but somehow I would like to start bigger project. Maybe I'll start it real soon…
I would like to also travel. Asia and especially Japan is target that I look for. Also Europe is interesting. There are so many places to visit and so little time and money. Right now those plans are in the future but I believe I will someday travel. I wouldn't really mind if my work would also take me to other countries.
Final note…
Yes I only scratch the surface of my future plans but that it's just way I am. Maybe some of you would like to share your dreams and future plans. It's your life and everybody should have something to target whether it's new girlfriend or career as rockmusician.
So tell us.
You can also wish something and maybe it will come true...

Writing a book - a hobby? For me it will be not only a hobby but a profession as well... I hope that someone from this community will buy my books... At least Cheesus is interested in this genre... But I first have to write the books! Maybe I will publish them later because no one will agree to publish a book by a 16-year old boy...

Here is a story from my friend:

There are two brothers: Jack & John living on 80/F of a building.
One day they went home, each with a big and heavy bag.
Unfortunately the lift is out of service and so they got to use the staircase. 
They climbed and climbed and¡K¡K¡K¡K..
When it is 20/F, Jack said, ¡¨Damn, it¡¦s too heavy, why not just leave these ******* bags here and got them back tomorrow¡¨. John said OK.
They continued to climb¡K¡K¡K¡K.
It is 40/F, Jack began to grumble and it turned out to be quarrels between these brothers.
They continued to climb and quarrel¡K¡K¡K
Then it is 60/F, John said, ¡§OK, we only have 20/F to go, let¡¦s stop arguing and finish these ******* stairs.¡¨
So, they continue to climb, without saying a word to each other.
Nearly exhauseted, they finally made it.
John said, ¡¨Oh, yes, #$&*^, it¡¦s home.....Yes...Yes...., my cool beers and seeing Liverpool crushing MU tonight¡K¡K¡K, Jack, open the door, come on.¡¨
Then Jack said, ¡§Hey man, don¡¦t fool me, the key is in YOUR bag¡K¡K¡K¡K..¡¨

too tired to use another layout...
Dreams?
I am a dreamer... perhaps too much of one... sometimes i get so absorbed in my dreams that I lose focus of my real life...
Family?
Not yet... When the time comes though... I get along pretty well with children (perhaps because I'm one of them) someone can even say I'm "practising" with my nephews and nieces (have a lot of them) ...although I'm waiting for the significant other, 21 years is not enough to get bored of being single...
Career?
Research... just like sha-men, i get bored pretty easily... routine is killing me... right now, I'm studying Computer Science (aka Informatics) and research would be the only option to work for me...
Hobbies?
drawing, mainly... I weanted to become a comic artist when I was younger... then I chose programming... now I have found a way to combine the two... 3D graphics... if all goes well, a new fantasy world will emerge soon...
Traveling?
I want to visit Japan and Scotland... already roamed through Europe (except Great Britain) and most of Greece (harder than you think) Egypt would also be a nice idea...
BTW: Sha-men, i didn't know you read our little role-play... hope you like it...

Ummmm.
Dreams?
To work less, I suppose. I work so much nowadays that I barely have time for the real things in life that I enjoy so much. Playing Heroes for one. To be honest, my dream is to buy a house, start up an investment in a company or even start my own business in retail clothing with my own brand of wear.
I'm not really prepared for marriage yet. I don't believe in love, I just believe in having a good time. Maybe one day I'll meet the right guy (if he exists!) and settle down and have children, but I'm not really planning on anything before I'm 35. Don't ask me why, lol. If I have no real idea about love then how can I get married?
I have already written a fantasy book, it's the first in a four part epic and took me the better part of two years to do. It requires a lot of editing, but I have so little time for it that I have settled for leaving it in a box in my closet. Maybe when I'm a little bit older, and have the time, I'll pull it out and go through the whole thing again and prepare it well for publication.
It's so hard to plan for the future. You can only guess at it and hope that it all works out for the better. I just feel sorry for all the people in the world who are dying.
What happened to their dreams?

Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive...
I don't know about you but my life is as stunning as a soap opera. Who told you these things happen on the movie only? One day if I gather the guts I will write my true story... the truth. But I'm not that daring for now...
I never plan for the future because I can't plan tomorrow, let alone ahead in time. An example. I'm a veggie, you know. I became one on 1st of October 5 years ago. The same summer, 5 years ago, I thought veggetaries were the most stupid among people.
I also don't plan because I have arrived at the conclusion: "be careful what ye wish for it may come true". If you have seen that movie about the female devil and the loser, you will know what I mean.

Hopes and dreams?
I only hope that I can continue to dream!
At this point in my life I have nearly everything I ever wanted! I should probably set new goals but I am enjoying life so much AS IS that I dont really want to change it.
Married for 2 years to a wonderful girl. I work very little at a great job that I get paid too much for. I live in a lovely forest with no one around so I can play my music as loud as I want (15 inch subwoofer). Close friends, good food, red wines and Heroes is all a man should ask for I guess.
Hey! This is embarassing!! I have no goals!! Crap.... back to work.

I believe the movie you are looking for is Bedazzled. Brendan Fraser was awesome in that movie. He really can play the lovable goof, probably because that's been his typecast role in most movies he's been in. Also enjoyed the hintings of pro-humanistic philosophy. Unfortunately it was also portrayed as being only for socialites and other high society types...
