I get your point there, "tainted" is more in the line of "seduced by dark powers" The Dark elves arent controlled by some evil spirit, they simply have their own religion, right?
About the Dark Human town... I´ve always liked the vision of Haven as a "good" race, that´s why i don´t use the renegades in TotE. (even if Champions own paladins...) If there would by some reason be an evil human town in an upcoming game, they should´nt be connected to Haven. If i got free hands on building this kind of faction, i would make a mountain living people, and they would´nt be evil. Maybe i´ll post a lineup later. Ps. i wont shoot you, maybe i´ll stab you but that´s enough...

Well im not sure but instead of having faction clones ,just have alternative upgrades be it evil or good in case of necropolis.Except for inferno good demons ???

I think that's not a good idea.Some factions have always been evil.Like necropolis.That makes them unique(it wouldn't any fun with just 'good guys').That's they're trademark

Like your idea Rogue Lord. it would be interesting to see evil hearted trashcan humans this time, the only taste we got from that are the "evil" renegades.

May I suggest some name ideas? Dark Paladins, Black Templars and Shadow Stalkers, Blood Hunter, Torpedo, Gloom Raider.

Lvl 1: Settler -> Thug | Militia
Lvl 2: Rogue -> Bounty Hunter  | Headhunter
Lvl 3: Vindicator -> Elite  Vindicator | Veteran Vindicator
Lvl 4: Black Griffin -> Battle Griffin | Noble Griffin
Lvl 5: Dark Priest -> Zealot | Warlock?
Lvl 6: Robber Knight -> Dark Crusader | Dark Paladin
Lvl 7: Fallen Angel -> Dark Angel | Seraph?

My idea of alternative haven faction:

Tier 1: Peon -> Militia / Man-at-arms
Generate gold weekly instead of peasant's daily one. It has better stats, though.
Tier 2: Longbowman -> Arbalest / Ambusher
Shooter with higher attack than haven's archer, at the cost of lower defense.
Ambusher is a shooter with invisibility.
Tier 3: Pikeman -> Halberdier / Lancer
Anti-cavalry unit. Immune to additional damage from jousting.
Lancer can attack enemy behind its target similar to Champion Charge.
Tier 4: Cockatrice -> Scarlet Cockatrice / Tainted Cocktrice
Flyer with stone gaze. Slower than griffin.
Tier 5: Acolyte  -> Prophet / Exorcist
Shooter/caster with a mix of destruction and light magics (e.g., Eldritch Arrow, Righteous Might.)
Exorcist has Word of Light spell.
Tier 6: Vanguard -> Royal Vanguard / Crusader
Royal Vanguard has Aura of Protection, which increases nearby allies' defense.
Crusader is an anti-undead unit and immune to dark magic.
Tier 7: Fallen Angel -> Vengeful Spirit / Guardian of Wrath
Angel with enrage ability.
Once per combat, Vengeful Spirit can summon Avatar of Vengeance from allied dead stack, with stats depend on that stack's number.)
Guardian of Wrath can sacrifice nearby allies to increase its attack.

Hero: Templar (Starting stats: Atk 2; Def 1; Pwr 2; Knw 1)
Unique skill: ... (I have no idea at the moment, sorry.)

Magic schools: Destruction and light

My ideas for Dark Haven and Sylvan

In my H6 suggestions thread, I made Castle (my version of Haven) more bloodthirsty, militant and fanatical but still maintained them as a Good faction. However, since most their units are ordinary non-magical humans (rather than mythic creatures usually assoicated with Good or Evil), you can easily use them as antagonists in SP maps and campaigns. Also, I'm gonna introduce several unique "Fallen" abilities gained when a Knight or Cleric learns an Evil-aligned Lore like Fiery Chaos, Grey Elders or Dark Ones.

In addition I've made another Human faction, the Neutral-aligned Citadel, which is Middle-Eastern in spirit (rather than Western European) and concerned with trade rather than the "fight for the Light"- which also opens a way for corruption.  

And Cepheus- see my Coven faction suggestion in my ideas thread. I think that's what you're asking for in a corrupted Sylvan faction.

I would actually like to see this. I think It would be interesting.  I guess it would be a neutral castle, but obviously enemies of Haven.

Scroll down to the cathedral castle.  That is exactly how I'd like the creatures to look like.  Some of the names are kinda weird, the site is Russian,  but the units look really cool.  Also instead of the ximera, or wutever they call it there, I think would be a perfect place to have the gargoyles but they would the look the same as that picture.  However, I don't know what they would replace the gargoyles in Academy with.

I like some ideas...

I like some ideas from Obscurites, however, I think the -very interesting or me- idea of the Dark Haven faction needs to be oriented to dark and destruction magic, besides of course to bloodthirst (could be this their racial skill?).

By the way, please, don`t mix the rebellious idea with the dark idea for the faction. Rebellious is one thing different. We have to remember that the rebellious haven appear in HoF because they're against Isabel, but they still believe in pure Elrath and Asha.

The dark haven faction should be formed by people and cratures who have decided to unbelieve in Asha and Elrath, or maybe people following an evil king expulsed from the haven kingdom.

More ideas, please. Thid is getting more and more interesting.

There's already been an evil-aligned human faction since the begining of Heroes: necromancers.

They already incorperated an evil-aligned haven faction in Heroes 5 with the alternative upgrades, who are servants of the Red Queen.

There's a boatload of ideas that would make cool factions, but there's only so many they can incorporate in the game, and having an entirely seperate evil faction for haven would be too low on the list to be seriously considered IMO. So I vote no.

Incorporating evil humans into Dungeon is always a possibility though. The "Dungeon" factions have greatly changed every Heroes game, so it would be the most flexible to change yet again.

My vote went to "unsure". I think there shouldn't be a good-evil-sheme in future HoMMs anymore. I like the races or factions to be more diversified. Good or evil only in the eyes of the other factions but more or less neutral on their own.

The whole thing about humans is that we think we're good, Haven should stay the way it is, their appearance shouldn't define their nature, their actions should.

Meaning: While the H5 haven runs around in silver armors and heavenly colours etc, they're still only human, easily misled creatures who always think they're right. Pretty evil if you ask me.
