Eh, truth be told, he asked me to remove it. I'm not sure something like that has ever been done in the history of HC, so for now it's gone while I'll check up on how to handle such a situation.

hi!new here, but veteran player.just wanted to share a thought i have the past 7 years (been playing heroes since the dawn of time lol)
could a faction consisting of dinosaurs be in? u know,a volcano (the castle) surrounded by a small number of caves (lvl 1 creature cavemen-homo erecti),large trees (home for pterodactyles, lvl 3),a swamp (brontosaurus, lvl 5),a jungle-like terrain (triceratops, lvl 6) and,of course,a skeletal pile near a huge cave (tyr-x, lvl 7)?
i left 2 and 4,assuming that i'll find a ranged attack creature to put in..
for those who think its irrelevant with the whole story, just think of a massive destruction (eg armageddon, earthquake) that opened a hole in the ground and released ancient trapped creatures, the MIGHT that fits the game.and some brave warriors (something more than the classic barbarians)that found reason in taming those creatures w/o MAGIC and like father lėke son want to use them to rule the world.or just survive,u choose.
the point is,is anybody interested or i forget the hole thing?
thanx for readėn me ;-)

Only spots left are 18 and 20. Of course if you wish to work with someone/ make a better propostion then they did go ahead. However id suggest talking to the person whos doing the story because theyve got quite a bit sorted out.
In my honest opinion i think if your going to do a faction like this it would be better as a primal human/dinasour theme rather then just dinasours as that would
A-Lack variety
B-make it hard for a shooter and for a hero
C-wouldnt have many interesting skills.
D- Would probably not have such a great racial that interests people
E- The idea in general isnt that great in the first place as it isnt really fantasy as much as ancient history
F- Would be nigh impossible to fit into the campaign properly as theyd have no historical significance to the game or talking figures except the aforementioned lone person who tamed them.

I'd have to concur with roy-algriffin. However, if you talk to Xerox about putting in some dino-like things for dungeon (as they already have zaurs), you might (very small) might convince him.
BTW, GL, as no one has the skills and abilities yet, I'll work on that. OR if you want me to, i'll take Lord_Evil's spot so he can quit.

Ok, two questions. One, is anyone from the actual Heroes of Might and Magic VI project actually a part of this discussion or looking in on it? Second, who is working on new neutral creatures and new features? Also, while I'm at it, how long is this game after Heroes V and have any creatures from the HoMM5 broken off from their main faction and become neutral?
Leviathan
Neutral- Level 7 Upgrade
These deep sea creatures fought a great war with the mighty Krakken beneath the sea long ago. Having lost, they retreated to the deep sea caves that lay beneath the continent, were they have slept for generations. Recent underground activity has awakened them, and they seek vengeance on the Krakken that nearly wiped them out so long ago.
Abilities: Large Creature, Amphibian, Flyer, Wrap-Around
Wrap-Around: Can wrap around any 3x3 area in range, doing half their normal damage to all units within the area.
Attack: 32 Defense: 29 Damage: 50-65 Initiative: 4 Speed: 9 HP: 220 Mana: 0 Shots: 0

Neutral Creatures
Most of my idea's come to me fast so it's a pain writing out full stats for my creatures, like I did for my Leviathan monster. The idea behind it was that it is like the water version of the Behemoth, since I have always felt that Behemoth and Leviathan go together. It's a giant sea serpent that is capable of flying through the air by gliding on it's massive fins like wings. After losing it's feud with the Krakken, the remaining Leviathan's fled into underwater caves, where they have been found deep underground in caves that connect to the ocean. My thinking was that they would be found even deeper than the Behemoth, and that the Tower keepers from this thread, the ones who are allied with the Troglodytes and Behemoths, would find them and in some of their campaigns they would use them against the Naga. Perhaps my idea can be modified further to cover what the Behemoth lack, but that's optional. With the Wrap-Around ability, all spaces around the 3x3 area must be in range for it to be used. I'm not sure exactly where the Leviathan's position would be after using it, perhaps next to the units from the same direction it came from. At any rate, this ability has it uses in damaging several units clumped together, but all spaces around the 3x3 area must be empty as well. Foes can't retaliate against this attack, and if any allies are in the area they will get damaged too. Still, it's a very useful ability, although large units would be harder to target with it.
My next neutral idea is for an oddity. Gold Golems, a level 5 neutral unit with average stats. What makes them odd is the cost, which is 10,000 gold, with a production rate of only one per week. With only average stats, slow production, and a resource cost that is high even for a level 7, I have still been having balancing issues with it as to it being to good. Why is that? It's trademark special ability, Gold Production. Having one of these bad boys nets you 1,000 gold per week. In ten weeks time, it will have payed back the cost to buy it, and will begin netting you a profit. This is a great ability for those areas lacking in gold, providing you can manage to afford it in the first place. I was thinking, with the Mages in the desert, I bet they sometimes find themselves in areas without a lot of resources, but if you have a bunch of Gold Golems, you're all set. In the Academy campaigns, there might be a few times where they could complete a quest and get some of these, or perhaps start with a few of these which they need to protect or else lose the map. The idea is open to suggestions however. It can be tweaked to be more like a regular level 5 creature with a much weaker Gold Production ability. I suppose three per week at a different cost with a 250 gold per week production ability would do fine as well. The main idea behind it is to have a good level 5 neutral creature, with nice stats and the golem mechanical ability, but having it's Gold Production ability giving the owner pause as to whether to use it in battle. It's slow anyway, so keeping it at the castle and using it only in sieges would be a good idea anyway, but even then you'd want to protect them less you risk losing your gold production ability.

i think the gold golem (GG) idea is nice and useful, much like the crystal dragon in heroes3,or the conscript same ability.to balance it,i 'd suggest compare the cost of a conscript with his gold production.should b balanced anyways!;-)

BradRepko, you have some great ideas there.
First of all, let's do a list of the neutral creatures we would like to have:
-Elementals
-Phoenix
-Leviathan
-Phantom
-Gold Golem
-Crystal Golem
-Snow Ape
Any others? Any creatures in my list that you don't want to see?
I'm also adding a new part of work to the master post: Neutral Creatures.
BradRepko, would you like to be responsible of that?
