No, there aren't any bugs to exploit here, just the AI's outrageous idiocy. Dessa's stats reach +99 including the Angelic Alliance's boni. Also, stats do not automatically reset to zero once they exceed +99 - in the map including this battle Dessa already has attack over +80 without a single AA component. I think the threshold may be 114 (as in Heroes II, if I'm not mistaken), which the computer probably stores but doesn't obviously show. I'll have to test it.
When I played Lord of War, 100 became 0. Unfortunately, the castle heroes in the end were no match when their attack/defence stats rolled over, just the way I described it above. The above applies for RoE and AB. Not sure if you get the same result in SoD.
There might be exceptions to this where a higher value can be gained temporarily. Haven't tried it out at length.
The attack strength for creatures do add normally to the 99 so the sum of hero attack plus creature attack can be higher than 100.

In "The Lord of War" the final hero has almost maximum experience, which translates into about +15/+18 per stat, plus several stat-boosting artifacts. Upon exiting the castle, she receives +99 to all stats via a placed event, virtually reaching something like +125 but in actual fact rolling over. Still a great map though, despite the final battle
Dessa's still awaiting winning orders...

This may vary between map versions, but when the two Castle heroes first appear with stats in the Tavern, they have not hit the 100 limit yet. The best have 99, 98, 99, 97 or something like that while the other has around 99, 99, 75, 75 or something similar. (And that's several weeks into the game since you need a number of Taverns before the best hero stats appears.)
Then they visit a Library of Enlightment or exchange artifacts and 1-3 of their stats jumps over 100. More or less game over for that hero.
The stats bonus they get when they leave their castle is not anything like 99, 99, 99, 99 but more err... moderate. They gain Xp corresponding to roughly level 45, and then mapmaker counts on them getting certain bonuses on the map and then the rest is received when they leave their castle.

Uhm, the AB version has a placed event in front of castle Candleburn giving +99 to Lady Norgana's stats. Maybe the RoE version is different - can't remember.
Ok, Faerie Dragons blinded - what next?

The stack of Azures is a life-saver since they resist the effect of the Armour of the Damned and therefore grant you first move. Blinding the Faerie Dragons is a must - if they cast Chain Lightning round 1 you're as good as six feet under. Enchanters are a pain and will be cloned more often than not - resist blinding them. Dispense with the Azures - Mighties & Ancients should be able to deal with them in two rounds at the most. The AI is most likely to target flying and non-retaliation troops anyway so you should be fairly safe. Cloned AAs are a pain since they endlessly resurrect dead troops - choose your target carefully. Blind all other flying stacks, leaving Enchanters for last - sounds easy, definitely is not since clones are a pain and Azures may often be resurrected by cloned AAs.
Now the AI's incommensurable stupidity kicks in: it will not cast Mass Cure and it will not clone the Faerie Dragons! Blind Enchanters, resurrect stacks using cloned AAs, cast Mass Cure, Mass Bless, Mass Prayer, Mass Slow and anything else you deem fit. From now on it's standard procedure: attack, blind, attack, blind, etc. Not so hard, was it?

Another easy one (Draxinusom variant)... will post it within the next few days, hopefully (too much work to deal with now, alas).

Damage spells
Actually, damage spells can be very useful...say you have Sandro level 70 with exp. earth mag. and sorcery, and 99 spell power....implosion does 12k dmg, wich i think is quite good hehe
