Poll Question: h3 vista patch
hello everybody,
i'm a proud owner of a windows vista.
and i'm a proud owner of heroes 3.
however, h3 cannot be installed on vista. i don't like that.
i really don't like that. i grew up with that game, and now...
they should really create a patch wich makes it possible to play h3 on vista. it should not be so difficult to do that.

during installation, it says, that i have 2gb ram instead of 128, and thats why i cant install it, but its no problem, u can still install it and certainly, having 2gb ram instead of 128 won't make game not to work

Um, hello, its not the RAM problem that I have, its the operating system. When I'm about to install HoMM3 Complete, it gives a list of what the computer has and what the installation requires.Everything was on my computer, except that it still requires operating system Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP

H3 complete works just fine on my Windows Vista... I have a problem though: after I complete the campaigns, the bonus one remains locked. For Restoration of Erathia i found a save game file that has all the campaigns completed, but for Armageddon's Blade i can't find a similar file. I'm stuck for over a week in this situation... and I red that the bonus campaign Foolhardy Waywardness is very cool and funny. Help me pls.

I'm going to bump this thread because I have an H3 Vista problem.
I currently have H3 Complete (and WoG) running fine on my primary laptop, which uses Windows 7. I'd like to install the game on my secondary laptop because I'm going on a trip for a week and I'm taking my other laptop with me. This other laptop runs on Vista.
When I put the H3 Complete CD in the drive, and load the autorun, nothing happens. It just sits there. Under the task-manager, the setup program is listed as running, but nothing is happening. I've waited about 30 minutes and still nothing. I've tried running in compatibility mode, and as administrator, to no effect. I also I bypassed the autorun feature with the same result.
I have found via google search that some other people have had this problem but could find no resolution.
Any ideas how to get the game installed?

Probably 32-bit installer will not work on Vista x64. The only solution is to copy game folder and Start menu group from second laptop.

You mean if I just copy the entire game folder over, it will run?
(goes to try it)
EDIT: What do you know - it worked! Bucketfulls of gratitude, my friend!
