Guide: The Battlefield Dissected

Hello,

I created a summary file with schemas and captions of many things concerning the battlefield: creatures attack area, aura, speed, special abilities, movements and much more…

Your comments and suggestions are welcomed

Nice work indeed although I don't get the hexagones in many pictures (they look very nice nevertheless).

Anyway, I just want to point out that damages with an s refers to "dommages et intérêts", "indemnités" or "dommages (vocabulaire juridique)" if you're talking about "dégâts" don't put an s to this word (it doesn't take any).

I don't mean to nitpick (I'm French btw).

What do you mean by 'I don't get the hexagones'?
Anyway, I appreciate your comment and waiting for more...

As you can see, the abilities of the Elemental Gargoyles associated with Magnetic Golems seem to be the most complicated ones in the game. I tried to establish all the possible cases to help people to know what to do in every situation... This is mainly the reason why I created this file: I was so frustrated to be unable to predict the future movement of a creature, to know if this creature will go through the snare set by Goblins Trappers for example or to know the attack area of the Untamed Cyclops or the Rakshasa Kshatra and all the cases where it is ambiguous...

This leads me to have this thought: is Heroes not too complicated? Well, don't get my wrong. I'm very fond of this game. I'm just thinking
: generally the best principles are always the most simple ones. Not the case for Heroes at all. And if this is always the gamer who know better the special effect of an ability who will make the difference, we cannot speak about tactical or strategic game. Again, don't make me wrong. If I spent so much time to make this file is because I love to understand and dominate this complexity. But what about casual gamer?

If you want to discuss about the pdf file, don't hesitate even if it is to report a mistake or whatever. This is this kind of remarks that make things progress

I would actually say the opposite: the person who understand all of the options at hand and how to combine them has a tactical and/or strategical advantage over those who don't. That's what war is all about: to use and exploit everything you have available to the best of your abilities (of course, the opposition determines just how strong you need to depend on that).

I noticed that you used hexagones as a backdrop for some units. Nothing that mars your analysis but it looks rather out of place IMHO.

I agree with Maurice on that point. Knowing your enemy's abilities and your own is essential.

Nice work on the diagrams. The spelling and the layout could use some work, but it's understandable anyway.

Yes, but it is not that detrimental, I'm just giving some feedback. It's a very nice work indeed.

Thanks for the QP. I’m really happy to see my work to be recognized.

I’m preparing a better version of the pdf file. It will be more complete and precise, and hopefully with less spelling errors

Just checked it, congratulations on your work While I generally knew the route units will take I had not observed that they move straight until they find the diagonal

No, the game is not THAT complicated, anyone can pick it up and play. But that's what makes people differ, how well they know it and how they assess each situation. I believe in success through experience and there are many things to be found even after many games. You just have to gain an intuition in how things work and that comes naturally with time.

OK what's going on?  I tried again, doesn't work.  I cleared my cache then tried again, doesn't work.

Do I have to register to dl from Mediafire?  Is that it?
