Personality

There were times when ChoaticHyrda wanted every member to have a definite personality. But I think it's already happened. When you read a post, you can guess who is the author even without looking at his name. Let me try to show here some clues:
Wyvern - have you noticed that I almost always use "..." and "!". I don't know, this way I make my posts to have more feelings... On the other hand, I never use any kinds of smilies. You shouldn't expect me to make abbreviations - I will always say By the way, In my opinion and never the short phrases. One of the few exceptions - HoMM or Heroes instead of Heroes of Might and Magic.
RMS - before he became a moderator, he used "..." not after his sentences but before them. This was a very notable feature and I don't know why he doesn't use it anymore. He also writes "I'de" and other forms ending in "'de" although I don't know what is this form...
Milena - she uses abbreviations, for example WoT, AS (I didn't understand what is this). She also uses many smilies and especially those which end in "P". Talks on almost every thread. She can surprise you by some unexpected ideas...
Sha_Men - some people say he makes some mistakes which shows that he is not a native speaker. I have noticed only one - "conservation", but I don't know if it is because he thinks that it is written this way or just because he is typing fast... He uses some abbreviations. Anyway, he makes some serious comments on almost all topics although sometimes he tries to be funny (I didn't say that he doesn't succeed!)
Shae_Trielle - she always ends her posts with *smile*. She smiles although she may have criticized in the whole post! By the way, although everyone feels that she criticizes HIM, she almost never uses names in her posts... I don't know how does she do it. Smilies, mistakes - I think no.
Oldtimer - I have seen only one mistake - "raize" (and because I saw HIM write it this way, I also wrote it wrong!). He doesn't appear so often and sometimes makes threads to revive the interest in Heroes 3, sometimes has surprising ideas... He jokes but that can cause a devastating amount of posts in his thread...
UnkaHaakon - before he became a moderator, he had many ideas, most of which very funny. He also answered to almost everyone. After he became a moderator, he didn't have many ideas but many times intentionally forgot that he is a moderator just to answer... And sometimes he uses double image - part of the post is as a moderator, the other part - as a normal member...
Lord_Woock - he speaks English well. He comments Heroes 2 and rarely Heroes 3. He doesn't make long posts and questions why he has quality points...
Preserver - I think the most special thing about him is his "No..." although he doesn't use it so often. He tries to look for information about Heroes 4 and summarizes it. He often puts pictures in his posts. Smilies - more than sometimes.
Djive - she can say a lot of things. I say "she" because Djive insists on that. If you want to call you "he", just say! So Djive reads a post by another member and completely disects it. She comments almost every sentence! And Djive's posts are usually very long. As well as information about Heroes 4 and suggestions about it, Djive can provide you with information about Agatha Christie's book or make hypotheses... A notable feature:
"(quote of someone's post)"
=> comment by Djive
Lith_Maethor - he doesn't write long posts. I haven't noticed mistakes or smilies... Sorry, but not a very distinguishable personality.
Arachnid - posts seldom, always makes not serious posts... Writes especially non-HoMM related things.
Rogue - no special features of his writing. As I can see, he is interested in some non-HoMM related things and especially Oldtimer's threads...
Incubus - here we have a lot of mistakes, for example "crusadar", "Preverse"... I haven't noticed many smilies in his posts. The special thing is that he always talkED about his new town ideas, which creatures to be in the game... And sometimes was offensive to some people.
El_Diablo - he was offensive sometimes, notable feature - stars (*) in his posts.
Nickman77 - well, he makes mistakes. His posts are short and usually have only one thought in them.
...And many others. Some of the members haven't made enough posts yet to comment... But as you see, everyone is different. Some people are obviously different, others - not so... ChoaticHyrda's idea was everyone to TRY to make his own personality. But maybe this is too artificial - if you try to be notable, won't you be different from yourself? You should be you and no someone else. Anyway, in this thread you may want to show your personality, comment personality in general, comment someone's personality, don't read the thread at all (I noticed that some people, for example Lupin, don't like long threads)...
So what do you think?

Heheh...
That "conservation" thing is clear. My sister does some "renewing work" (typed like this?)with old furniture stuff and she is saying "conversation" all the time. So I mix up those words always together...

"Tries to be funny"?..."Tries"?...Thank you, Wyv, thanks. I see now so much clearer....So should I say something extremely funny now so we can all laugh to my inability to make proper jokes?...
You have struck dagger into my heart Wyvern and I will ever forgive you that I "try" to be funny sometimes.
HMPF!

I don't use abbreviations so much. But here's one for you:

Nice analysis! Not entirely right but pretty damned good!

Let's see if we can nail things further...

Zud: Short and sweet! He is always funny and nobody has any doubt about his willingness to 'get it on', lol!

Haak: You can really tell that Haak has a lot of experience. He is really dwarvish in his mannerisms, his posts always have a moral or story to them and he does it with grace, mixing in great humour that makes all of us look up to him even though we sometimes may not know it!

Sha_Men: His English falters him I think and his age and inexperience show quite a lot. Yes, he does try to be funny, but he's a bit too serious to be laughed at and when he's too serious, I often find him funny (in a maddeningly lovingly sort of way!). Sha has a wisdom all his own.

Milena: She reminds me of another online girlfriend that I have, but far more subtle and intelligent. For someone who speaks Bulgarian, her english is spot on, probably even better than mine (which by no means a compliment! LOL!). But her posting style is... shall we say 'refined'? I get the impression that Milena likes to keep her real feelings and thoughts out of her posts and that in itself, makes her opinions sometimes very ambiguous in their conviction.

Lith Maethor: Sarcasm and wit, a person who likes to post about stuff but in the end, gets away without really saying anything. He's very good at making slanted mockeries of things but is humble and apologetic with other posts. He reminds me of a tree that bends with the wind all the time

Incubus: Okay, I'll settle the score here and say that I liked Incubus the person and not really Incubus the poster. He picked up on a lot of things that were NEVER directed at him and posts that had nothing to do with him. His young age was present all the time and as such, some people found it hard to take him seriously. He was passionate, I'll give him that!

El Diablo: A lost soul. I didn't like El at first, we hit off on the wrong foot although it wasn't until later that I learned that he was trying to change his ways and it began to show in his posting. He even got a quality point at one stage which really impressed me no end and some of the IM conversations we had were great. Knowing where El comes from makes you understand his aggressive posting a lot more and kinda makes you sympathetic towards him.

RMS: Funny that since he's become a moderator, I'm not seeing any more 15 year old stuff like I used to see from him. His style of posting has changed dramatically, from short and acute posts to seriously deep and far more mature stuff that not even I can fully understand. Went from being 15 to being 50 overnight...

Val: Damn he used to be sooo funny! I'm disappointed that Val is not as much of a poster as he used to be and what he does show of himself these days is always the 'Admin' side. I want the old Val back.

Rychen: Being a ToH player and highly respected, Rychen doesn't take garbage from anyone and he knows the game top to bottom. He sees no use for superficial posting and it shows in what he says. I personally find him really funny and brutally honest and I respect him for that. He's been my teacher and my friend for a long time, since I first joined ToH and will always support what he posts, because it's often the truth.

Gimmickless: He has a way of talking down to everyone I think, or maybe it's just me. He reminds me of someone who's at that stage in life where he feels that his age endows him with wisdom and although he claims to have no gimmicks, his posting style reflects quite a few tricks up his sleeve.

I have a few more to do, but for now I think I'm in danger of creating the longest and most boring post in the history of HC, lmao!

*smile*

PS: I know how to be funny, I can be sexy, I can think and I have a wit as sharp as your momma's favourite knife! But hell, it's only a posting board and so I smile a lot to keep things nice and even. Too much seriousness isn't good for the skin! I smile a lot in real too!

His English falters...
Yes my english falters. I'm not perfect and tell you the truth I'm quite lazy writer. I don't check my spelling and I don't really "plan" my messages. That is entirely my fault.

Age and inexperience...
LOL
Would you care to clear "the inexperience" part a bit? One of the things I'm always careful with is when speaking about "experience". There is many kind of experiences and we ourselves claim our own "experience". Age doesn't claim anything and I would be damned to say somebody example 18 year old to be "inexperienced" nowadays. It's subjective thinking and everybody can draw wrong conclusions from somebody's age.

Funny and serious...
I would be do damn serious if I would be my real self here on board. I have tried to come down from that "ivory tower" and lighten up a bit otherwise I'm doomed to be boring here. And who wants to be boring?

Sha has a wisdom all his own...
Don't know about that. I have opinion still, right? RIGHT. And that what counts here.

I consider these personaly analysis quite funny how people see other people and themselves here on board. In the end they must be taken as seriously as those "community awards".
I have my own "psychological profiles" for each of you ready but I think I won't publish them as they all show that you all need treatment and you need it NOW!

Enuff said.

My own observations

OK, it seems I have to throw my heavy word here.

Shae_Trielle: true, always ends her stuff with smile. Even though it wasn't about smiling she posted about. Sharp and a knife and thin and as a leaf, she always knows where and how to cut. The sort of person who you don't wanna meet on the battlefield of words: make sure you have plenty of evidence and the nerve to deal with her. She can break bones with merely looking at a person and giving his her piece of mind. The most typical thing is she seems not to find anything cool or dangerous in it. The fact it that when you face a person with such a deep knowledge and straightforward reactions, you can hardly ignore her and pretend she's one of the many

(If you see a post like this: LOOOOOOOL! this is Shae for sure.)

Zud: the more rare he appears, the more interesting the myth is. There's no doubt he is the most horny of the dragons around and the funny thing about him is he doesn't even TRY to remedy this. But as you get to know him deeper and deeper, you start seeing truths that can escape even a person with eagle eye speciality. There's a person with soul hiding behind the veil and it's good when you can appreciate it. Talk to him and he will make you laugh. The more you laugh, the moe you forget your inhibitions.

Wyvern: has a typical sense of humour. He merely can't help it. He tries so hard to be amusing and cute that he almost always succeeds. You can see him ... ing all the time and laughing out loud. Plus, if you see a post mentioning Bulgaria, that's him for sure. Maybe people don't care about his country but he does and he does his best to make this obvious.

Lith: I can't hide I'm very partial here. One thing is for sure here: his Net image is fake. The guy who leaves ... all the time and sees to be gone with the wind can be quite subtle. Don't forget that ... is the punctuation mark of things thought but not said. And in fact there's a lot between the lines. Looking from the shadows and pretending to be invisible can be quite deceiving. This ambigious image can confuse you: he'd often talk about stuff you don't understand. But he is the sort of guy who only need a chance and nothing more. Prove you notice him and he will make sure to make himself noticable

RMS: Mr Long post. If you see an INCREDIBLY long post, you can bet it's RMS. If you see a person begging for pizza and saying he doesn't care about girls, that's RMS. It's funny how the features of an innocent and unexperienced boy can come with the remarks and the competense of someone mature. Though, he more he thinks, he less he would act- like Hamlet. Of course, this is yet another deceiving feature oh his. The mod holds the whip in his hand and mercy in his other hand (if you allow me the paralel). Sucking up to him hust won't work. One thing head who can be just as productive as anyone around.

I'm going to edit the post later and add more people.

let's go on with the HC members

Next on list:

Sha_men. The guy with the blue face, sharp mind and original name. Sha is a way a weird one.  I have to admit he's the one to confuse me most. He reminds me of the Hanged Man. Now, we are going into arcane knowledge and I'm not going to delve into it. The thing with Sha and the Hanged Man is that whatever seems right about them is wrong. You just think you have the right impression on them and it all comes out false. You'd expect from him to say/ do sth and he does just the opposite. My typical example of Pandora's box. And yet, his brains will surprise you. He makes cerebral posts and yet he seems to be a comic figure... yeah, a confusing one. For me at least.

Rogue. The little guy in the big, big world. Peaceful, yet charming, he tries to set harmony where there's no extra need for such. A bit of timid posts but wild if he wants to... expect surprises from him.

Incubus. I think I can recognize the guy even if I read 2 sentences from him. His English is a bitta bad, he has more to learn. But this is not what makes Incubus Incubus. He would shout in ALL CAPS and capitalize words to stress on them. He is the most ambiguous of all people I have met here... he says stuff and does just the opposite. When you are used to having everything, you just start disdaining it.

Lord_Woock. The kind kid who loves HoMM2 and hated HoMM3. A distinct style... Oh, I f'got. If you see someone posting in Polish that's him. Has to grow up a bit and in the same time he can confuse you with the stuff a kid's not supposed to know. Expect surprises from Mr Woock

Did I miss out someone?

I knew that my words will cause problems... I was especially afraid of Sha_Men reacting like this... That's why I wrote "(I didn't say that he doesn't succeed!)" because it's true that I didn't say he doesn't succeed. That should be an excuse but...
Sha_Men passed through my excuse like a Japanese train... He didn't want to know that I have an excuse, even the fact that I said that he "tries to be funny" was enough...
I'm extremely sorry, Sha_Men. Should I say "He is so funny that I wonder how I haven't died from laughter reading his great posts"? I remember when you commented your Quality Points - whether you deserved them. And you said that some people may not like what you say... The same was with my Personality comment.
"You have struck dagger into my heart Wyvern and I will ever forgive you that I "try" to be funny sometimes."
I have never meant to struck a dagger into your heart. I have never meant to make you feel bad at all!
I hope that you really mean you will "ever" forgive me and not "never" because if you'll never forgive me I will be really unhappy...
By the way, that sentence - "So should I say something extremely funny now so we can all laugh to my inability to make proper jokes?..." was really funny and I would have laughed a lot if it wasn't in your gloomy text...
But now I'm completely serious. What can I do to make you feel better? For example, here is a story:
In a small town in Bulgaria there were young people from many European countries. There was also a Finland boy (about 20 years old) who was very happy every time when I said "Suomi". Maybe that's because in almost every language your country sounds like "Finland" and few people know that its name is Suomi. That was a very nice Finnish boy who, in a colaboration with me, a German boy, a Belgian man and an Englishman from Indian origin sang "No problems" in Bulgarian (this is not a song, we made up the melody!). After that they ate shishcheta (I have no idea of the English equivalent) in which there were meat, tomatoes, etc. Then the crew drank rakia (I think the English word is brandy). And then the Finnish who was learning some words in Bulgarian said in Bulgarian "Meat + tomatoes and rakia - *kiss*". I found it very funny and repeated it but the Finnish thought that I make a comment on the food and corrected me - "For you - meat + tomatoes and Cola - *kiss*". He was right, wasn't he? That night he drank too much and grabbed a knife with the words "Harakiri!" but he didn't suicide...
Did that story make you feel better? Will you forgive me? Please!
P.S. I hope that the Finnish boy wasn't you!!!
