Any Wizardry 8 Fans here
If there are any fans of Wizardry 8 here that have their own copy of the game, i have just completed a mod for it using the MadGod editor from cosmicforge.
Its free of course and its been beta tested to iron out all the gliches.
I will await feedback before putting up any links for downloading it though because i have not seen any threads here on this game.

Not really. I got ribbed a lot by Andiangelslayer when i first joined because of the threads i made.
I left it there ever since.

You will find not only the links to my mod and a patch you will need to apply after installation, but many threads on the first page relating to the mod that will tell you much more than i can in a few posts.
Just for starters though here is a list of the main changes.
1: Extended storyline
2: New quests
3: New monsters with new skins
4: New monsters made from unused sirtech files
5: New custom item makers
6: New items
7: New terrain textures (Arnika only in this mod)
8: Tougher battles throughout the game
Thats everything i can think of for now without giving major spoilers out.
It is also worth noting that MadGod (creator of the editor i used) has just recently added to his editor the capacity to add new locations.
So my mod while complete will be re-released again in the future with lots more new stuff in addition to what is allready there.

Do you have the game Wizardry 8 then ? If not then the only way to get it that i know of is ebay.
It isn't cheap anymore though.
If you have never played the original RPG game then you would not yet be ready to tackle the mod.
You would need to play the game a few times in its original version first.
Well really thats just an opinion.

Just from reading some of the posts about the mod I definitely agree that you would need to play the original game first.
I have beaten it on expert...but I trapped my ironman expert party in the rapax castle
Anyway some day when I can give enough time to it I will play the mod version...thanks again.

This game has great sentimental value to me....
Somebody still playes it,?
Me from time to time, to recall that emotions when i played the first time and how hard it was till you reached 10th lvl with your party  . For me the hardest thing was get alive, fast and in one piece to Arnika early. From there the rest seemed easy, if you didn't found Geomancers on your path that is

I'm very much agreeing with your experience Nebdar. Those darn elementals are tough when your party is weak.
I'm not one for 'cheating' at least not in this game. My friend gave all his guys 500 hp etc. and it takes the fun out.

Wizardry is an obvius one because of the most damaging ones spells come from it
Alchemy also has nice Fire Bomb and Acid bomb and draining spells.. and blinding flash...
Psonic with Insanity or just fear is sometimes an life saver
Divinity comes when you need to cure something or heal rest all spells.
The all for develop naturally Wizardry and Psonic as an ofesive spells Alchemy support spells and Divinty after an battle healing spells
I try not to cheat above the Combat Magic Skills I once wasted or used one month of simple training to get right amount of skills points when i got save game editor i said why waste time.....
I also play and edit the game with cosmic forge i already insert new gadgeteer bards tools and weapons new recepies or special weapons for special classes like Elven Bow with 95% Kill chance even that high i doesn't score that often...
I got inspiration to add an skill to Bishops so they can make an Book of spells while merging Scrolls with something(empty Book)
My typical team is:
Samuraj(Left Side), Monk(Right Side), Ranger(Center), Bishop(Rear), Bard(Right Side/Center), Gadgetter(Left Side/Center)

I like Wizardry 8 a lot. It's what Might and Magic IX should have been, and a great ending to the series.

Hey guys, I'm not that interested in modding because I am set in my ways.
I was wondering if anyone had advice on the best 3 character party? I've beaten the game with 4 characters but never 3. There just seems to be no way to shield all the characters. I'd have thought fighter, rogue, bishop could do it, but I got killed. Expert difficulty of course.

I'm trying to run that same party again and it is tough. I got a lucky web on the giant gregor bug and killed it, but in general it is pretty easy for groups to slaughter me.
