Yikes! I appreciate the replies but im afriad i dont get it.  I dont want to fill this topic with this so if anyone has nothing to do send me an email Ivandolvich_cccp@yahoo.com.  I have an understanding of the editing process and such, i just dont know where everything goes when im done unzipping the data.pak file, and im not shure if the changes im making to those files are permanent, if so is there a way to change them back. Thanks again sorry for the trouble.

Does anyone know what would happen if the liches hoop skirt is half-cleared? How far do the legs under them go? Can the entire thing be cleared? Can it be ribboned to some sort of success? I'd like to know before I try in vain.

There are... *shudders*... legs under there.  On the Lich Master's dress you can see red runes, the legs disappear anywhere above those runes.  They would probably be decent-looking on the Lich, though they're not actually animated...

Elements

Hey, I recently downloaded a mod that edits the original presets to add more creatures, skills, perks etc. and I decided to mess around with the .xdb to make my own duel presets.

That worked as planed but while making a warlock hero I noticed I can't see the elements on my creatures since it's not a perk and requires an altar of elements built. I looked around but couldn't find anything that would allow me see the elements on my own creatures.

So does anyone have any ideea how you can enable elements on your own creatures in duel mode?

It is a perk: Elemental Vision and it's data id is HERO_SKILL_ELEMENTAL_VISION.

That's for seeing the elements on enemy creatures I was asking how to see the elements on your own creatures in duel mode.

I'm not quite sure, as I haven't done this before, but I think you need to put that custom .tga file in a specific directory. Hope someone else can help you more.
I'm sure, though, that 32 refers to the bit depth of the image.

Yeah but Sylvan heroes have 3 favorite enemies from the town they play againts in duel mode and to choose favorite enemies you would need an Avenger's Guild built in a town...so why can't Dungeon heroes see the elements on his creatures?

So does anyone with more modding experience have any ideeas or can help me with this?

The reason why you have favored enemies in duel mode is that they are programmable and are not preset. Each ranger can start with a favoured enemy due to the nature of the script. In Lamen's terms, the Avenger's guild only lets you change favoured enemies. A hero can come with them.

A Warlock cannot see the elements due to the nature that it can only be used by use of the Altar of Elements. Elemental Vision just lets you see enemies elements. So, the Elemental Chains cannot happen without the Altar of Elements.

Well that explains the favored enemies part.

While waiting for an answer I searched around the data.pak files and found that in the duel mode there is map wich seemed to contain all the duel heroes placed diagonally from one corner of the map to the other so I tried adding a Dungeon town with all the buildings built in it but the elements still didn't show up on my creatures even though I did seem to get the +1 knowledge.

I guess they're a bit more complicated than that or something...dunno I'm a noob at modding

Blank out half the texture, see if the legs go, work out which half they are in, blank out half of the half that they are in, etc.. Btw I had problems with the mage texture too.
