I don't think the problem is you didn't entertain the crowd, the problem is there was no crowd in the first place. There are not as much visitors on this forum as there used to be. I learned that when releasing the first demo of my dual class mod. This mod was technically and gameplay wise a breakthrough, but very few people downloaded, despite cepheus news post. My interest to continue weakened for a while, but now I'm still working on it following my own dreams. I don't think we need to blame Nival and Ubisoft, they released two expansions, that's more then most games get. We need a real large mod like WOG or HOTA and a community that is willing to step in such a concept all together. Also advertising in other communities should help, especially the russians, they seem to be more devoted to modding then english communitities and have been crucial in keeping H3 and 4 alive.

GameMechanics folder

Hi everyone!
I'm French, so please excuse me for my errors...
I have searched in many forums but i didn't find what i'm looking for : i only have the tribes of the east extension and in the data.pak file i can't find the Gamemechanics folder, so i can't do anything ( mods ) !!
Is anyone able to help me ? Why can i play with every creatures whereas i don't have the gamemechanics for these ones  ??!!
And where can i find this folder ?

@masonjo - We're working on it, might come about within a month or two (its not complete, see, so we have to track down what we've got done then upload it)

@nyddhogghr - In alphabetical order, its between lights and Effects, and if you can't see it, it might be on the bottom for some reason. But I don't think it would be hidden in any copy...

You need to repack them in same folders path they were initially, then zip the root folder with .h5u extension. This is what goes to Usermods folder.

I found out that I didn't need to repack the modified xdb file, I just had to put it in the data folder, and in the game, I got the changes I wanted!

Thanks for your answer, sure it's between these two folders.

It seems your data.pak file isn't complete at all !!
And your game is running without trouble ?

Maybe you should use another ZIP manager, like 7-zip or Winrar

New Animation ?

During my search in the Editor, I found a very interesting model with the path
Model:Characters\Heroes\CS\DemonWtorch_CS

Unfortunately, this Model has no Animation. So I wanted to ask if anyone could make a new one.
All I want is an idle animation with the demons left hand holding the torch.

I mean, a demon holding a torch, how cool would that be ?

I really enjoy playing TOTE campaign mode and I'm wondering if it's possible to make campaigns in the map editor using just random maps. I create one in the editor and then save it but it doesn't show up in the map selection for the campaign editor. I would link up some of the game maps or user maps but I think there would be story conflicts with that method.

@El-Chita - I think that has good grounds for an NCF creature, or just a modded creature. Perhaps replacing Tier 4 Succubi? Making them Incubus and Succubus would be amazing...I think some of the more experienced modders (I myself not included) would be able to put a compatible skeleton glue.

Well, I thought about placing him into a map as some kind of a creepy butler in an old Dungeon, but if someone could make that work as a NCF-Creature as well, I would be very happy



Edit1: OH PLZ guys !
You are all good modders, one of you wants to make a full new town, it can't be that difficult to change an existing animation, is it ?

By change do you mean reassign? Yes, its exceedingly easy to reassign a creature's animation to something else. Reassigning it a compatible animation is slightly more interesting. But, several modders are particularly good at effect splicing, so it should not be too difficult.

I already copied Animations, added a .gr2 to the Files and looked at them with the Granny Viewer, so I think it's a Granny Animation ^^

All you have to do is:
-Win 12.000 $
-Buy Granny 3D
-Edit the Animation


I have no experience with anims, I only know how to make new models...
